    The were a good look and not as hard to keep clean as the typically braked dusted BBS on my 95 Jetta GLX VR-6

    I think the GLX that had the VR-6 replaced the GLI which has been a 4 cyl, for a period of time. I had two, a 1995 and 2000 GLX both with the VR-6 and 5sp. Fun cars. Here is the rear view of a 95-97.

    BMW 530i

    Let's call it a BMW E28 (2nd gen 5 series) and that would cover the many variants that used the same body & chassis (525/528/530/M5). These are considered some of the best BMW designs.(1981-88). I got a ride once in an E28 M5, I'll never forget it.

    Yes, E28 was not until MY 1982. I think most USDM E21 were 530i.

    Beyond the Subaru looks like a Corolla, then a big Fomoco wagon.

    Yup, if the picture is from '75, that's an E12
    My bad, Tex is right, the overall shapes are similar but on the E28 the turn signals went under the bumpers
    and there was no faux grille on the C-post.

    The Alfa-Romeo in front of the '59 Ford is a 2000 Spider with a DOHC 6. Very few made it to the US market where the smaller more nimble Alfa Spiders ruled. In 1962 a larger engine version with disc brakes debuted. The Alfa 2600 Spider looked much like its predecessor. Both used bodywork by Touring Superleggera.

    A mid-50s Cunningham C3, styled by Michelotti. Bears a lot of resemblance to other Italian exotic cars of that era. Handsome vehicle.

    At the Chrysler dealer there appears to be a Fintail in the left front corner.

    That's right, the resemblance to Italian cars of the era comes from the tendency of stylists to copy their own sudccesful designs. I think Michelotti was in the employ of ?Bertone at the time so the C-3 looks much like some Astons, Ferraris and Maseratis. He was best known for the styling of the TR-4/5/250 and the BMW 2000/2002.

    Cunningham built 25 C-3 coupes and Spiders to qualify the car for the production class at LeMans. Power came from a Chrysler Hemi 331cid V8.
