Thanks for the reminder. They could have at least given me a shot over the bow. I lost a lot of seniority because of that. 13 years if my math is correct.

Now I don’t know how to figure out my Edmunds retirement date because of that. And worst of all I don’t get grandfathered rights with entitlement to lower dues. :#

But there was a glitch back around 2011 or so and our starting times in these forums was "adjusted" and some of us were given new start dates. I know I've been in here since about 2001 or there about but that glitch they had has an entirely wrong start date. Not that it really matters...but just nice to know the exact dates of being in here.

I liked the 300M and test drove several. Wife liked it but thought it was too big. The car was for her and we bought a loaded 99 Passat 1.8t , 5sp manual. That’s my girl. She loved it.

I started posting on Edmunds in 2005. I had a Forester at the time and found it because of ateixeira and his Subaru crew came up in a search. I had that car for about two years then replaced it with a Pilot. But I stuck around and here we are. I’ve still never owned another Subaru…

I get similar from my local Maser/Ferrari dealer, including the incredible deal of nitrogen tire fill for only $299! For four tires, such a deal! At least I'll believe it's for four tires. If not, less of a great deal.

I just got an offer from the Kia dealer to get $10 off an oil change. The estimated I had 75,000 miles on it.

I actually have 24,500 and just had the oil changed this week.

I always seem to get the service coupon just after I've had the car serviced. They (conveniently) expire before the next service. Last year I got a 'Happy Birthday' coupon. Who knew, I had the car serviced two days before receiving the coupon!

Got a coupon flyer from my VW store today so will have to read it to see when it expires. Think I could do my yearly oil change/filter a bit early if I must. I'll be lucky if I do drive 2K miles since the last one! But, have to keep the maintenance up as I don't want to be forced to get something newer before I'm ready.

They must send them out at the same time. On cue, I received these service specials for the VW today. It expires 3/31/24. Unless I drive a lot of miles, my next service will be in May. As my birthday is May 9, this year I will wait until after my birthday to have the car serviced. Maybe they will send another birthday special. Not holding my breath.

My Subaru dealer (most likely whoever they contract with), sends me mail almost every week. Sometimes twice a week. I can't get them to stop! Usually there is an oil change coupon.

If I forget to take one with me, I tell them I forgot it. They always have one lying around.

Mine has a hitch. Sure, it expires on 3/31/24 but it's a "Saturday only" special. It's for $69.95 but they throw in a free tire rotation, a $29.95 value. Guess they're looking to up Saturday business but the expiration date is at the end of the month. Have to check when I got my last oil change and since I got all four new tires in a two week span at the end of August, not totally necessary to have them rotated yet and besides, T P rotates them for free since I bought them there. Since my last few changes were done at T P, might be time to get one done at the dealer. Will give me a chance to check out the new GTI just in case.

Went with the wife to get petrol tonight and of course, she drove. But better she drives then me as if something were to happen, I'd be in the dog house. Maybe she'll let our son try it when he comes in on the 15th. See how it compares to the Subaru Impreza they have in Chicago.

The last couple of years of TR7 production weren't all that bad. As per BL practice, the first years of production utilized customers as beta testers.

My 1981 Consumer Guide has a test of a TR-8, and says something along the lines of "There may always be an England, but if our test car is any indicator, there may not always be a British motor industry".

I was a little kid when those were new, and liked them too - I remember seeing one destroyed in a TV or movie and being upset about it.
