Should I wait till end of this year? I think what they offered was a decent deal ($330 with no money down for 2017 Accord sports SE) considering my low credit score at the moment. Is there usually a better deal in NOV or DEC?

We can't tell the future, but new Accord lease deals usually get better, as the year progresses.

Acquisition fee $595
MF 0.007
RV $13,674.30
All fees $370.11
No incentives / rebates
I put $700 down ( All fees + first month + $187.04 capitalized cost reduction)
Dealer paid $100
Sales tax 8%
Monthly payment $242.85
Lease term 36/12.
Is it a solid deal?

Hi again! You are so right about finding a dealership that is transparent!!! I spoke with a third dealership minutes ago and was informed that Honda has maintained their total of $1500 incentives for leasing and the money factor has gotten better. I hope you can help me figure this out on an Accord EX

Residual 56 percent $15,324.40

I'm so excited to finally have all the numbers that you told me I should get. If you could tell me what amount would be a fair lease amount for 36 months/12,000 miles.

This sales person told me no pressure as the lease incentives are set until January 3rd.

Looking forward to hearing what you think the lease amount should be with zero down and no trade in car involved.

56% is correct for 36/12.
The $1500 is also correct.
Program expiration on January 3rd is also correct.

$254.31 +tax and title/registration with those numbers.

Thank you! So being that I'm in NY, I would take the $254.31 per month and then add the 8.75 sales tax on that amount every month, right? $276.56 would be the monthly amount that would be good, along with the title/registration fees?

Thanks for your help, and if I'm not getting this right I apologize, as this is rather new to me.

Almost - NY assesses tax against the sum of the payments, up front, and you can add it to the cap cost. If you do that, the tax amount is subject to the interest.

Therefore, ($254.31 x 36) x 8.75% = $801.08 + $23,845 cap cost = $24,464 new cap cost. $271.78 is the new payment I calculate.

Thank you for being so exact in explaining this to me. I think I'm finally in a good place. One of the four honda dealerships here offered $289 a month with them paying off my last three lease payments on my 2014 sport. They said with me paying the payments, they would do $273 per month. I feel that I'm in a good place! Thank you so much! So it must be the incentives that they receive that allows them to make such a good deal?
I've also slowed down a little bit and will wait until the end of November to make the move. By the way, my payments on my 2014 sport are at $289 per month, so it's a good fit. Although, I know now how ripped off I was when I made that deal.

Certainty no rush on this. Plenty of inventory and each month you wait is one payment closer to the end of your current lease.

Although, I ended my lease two months early. Finally wore my wife down.

Hi! This is where I am today with my most current negotiations. I have the dealer down to $259 a month for the lease on my Accord EX sedan. Based on your earlier calculations, you had the lease at about $271. I feel this must be a killer deal. I've taken my current lease out of the equation though.

My question is this: how does the dealership make any money on this lease? Is the dealer cash and leasing incentives where they make up the difference?

The $259 per month is for 35 months with nothing down. It's as clean of a deal as I can see and by far the best. If I throw my current lease that is at $289 for a 2014 sport into the equation and divide it by 35 months, that's just shy of $25 a month. If that works, I'm at $284, which is much more acceptable that my initial negotiations of $337 a month with them paying off my 14 sport.

What do you think? Do I make sense? Thanks in advance!

Don't worry about what the dealer makes - they wouldn't offer a deal if there wasn't something in it for them.

Your numbers make sense. There is often hidden incentives to the dealer that we'll never know about.

If you're comfortable with the deal, no reason not to pull the trigger.

So I got an approval from another honda dealer through Honda financial. I currently have too many cars and I wanted them to buy one of my car outright (dealer would have to give me $9,000), They told me that my lease payment will go up $40-50 lol ($320 vs $270). This was for 17 Sports SE.

Is this a typical practice?

What is the MSRP and selling price of the '17 Sport SE? We can run the numbers without the trade - that complicates things, for sure.

No, I just wanted them to buy one of my personal car that I don't get to use much.
Lease term is 12k /36. They told me that I got approved and gave me $310-320 for them buying my car and $270-80 without buying my car.

Asked for numbers (cap cost, MF, RV) via email and they insist on discussing the numbers over the phone because there are "too much information".. Seems shady to me..

Holy balls. Just got off the phone with the dealer I mentioned earlier and.told me the followings

MSRP : 27050
Cap for 2017 Accord sports SE 24,713
R.Value: 15418.5
MF: 0.00138 (3.312%)
12k miles / 36 mo.
5% tax (Tax should be same for Lease right? One dealer told me that tax is 1.875% higher on lease)
According to my calculation, I get $329 a month. Dealer told me $313 which is without the tax (bait).

He told me there is no $1500 lease incentive. Only $500 and I can't get additional $500 for recent graduate discount. I told him that doesn't sound right. I told him that other people got all the rebates and then he was speechless (perhaps surprised that I knew about the incentives?) and hesitated to answer lol.

Asked more questions about why my lease numbers went down to $270 with out trade and he hesitated more and could not answer it.. Ugh,

My guess is that they were planning to keep all the incentives ($2000 = $1500 + $500) with trade. Because with incentives, cap cost should be $22713 instead of 24k..Then my payment is around $270 ($268 to be exact),..

From your prior post, I would run (not walk) to another Honda dealer. Only takes one to be transparent with you about the numbers.

This deal was through Honda.
.00045 is for top tier correct? I currently have low credit rating.. I figure that's the reason why I got .00138.
