I had my stepdaughter's Jetta in for its 30k service this morning, so took the opportunity to talk to someone about getting into a new Jetta.
We have four payments left on the Jetta Sport after this month, and they would take care of most of that, no disposition fee, and they were about $2,200 off MSRP on the new Jetta SEL.
Not horrible, but I think if I wait until December the deals will be more aggressive (and that's what @michaell advised me to do as well).

968 has a following, but not like any 911. Exception is the 968 CS. But I have a soft spot for them. I like how the seller keeps mentioning the service 20k miles ago. Tell me in time, buddy, not mileage. 20k miles could have been 10 years ago.

Well, the dealership was offering up to $500 to cover remaining payments (we owe a total of $871 for the remaining five months) - it didn't seem like it was anything "officially" offered from VW.

you sure you don't want an s90? I think I may have found one for $300/mo and $300 due at signing on a 36/12 term. T5 AWD momentum with some extras. Ex-loaner with 5k miles.

I don't want a car that big. But for that price, I could deal with it. Though it probably has black guts?
amazing deal though. Not sure how much of a stipper it is, not that any S90 isn't well equipped.
yeah, I would take that if it had a few options and decent colors. Go big or go home! I assume it drives smaller. Though should probably find out first.
Edit: 200". wow. That is as long as our Odyssey was. Wife couldn't complain about not enough room in that bad boy!
I'm so terribly tempted to get the payoff on my ford and see what's what. Gotta wonder if its just chasing a deal, though. Would I want to be in the charger in 6 mos? haha. of course I would!

yeah, that is the issue. A loaded volvo in great colors, wonderful. Just would have to seriously try out the jumbo sized one! though maybe 8" longer than the Sonata is not that much. But nearly 2' longer than my current car. and much wider.
smaller than my F150! A larger sedan would be good for me. And I already know I adore volvo seats. I would certainly prefer a T6. Wonder if anybody sells a tune for the T5. hmmm...

Just sorry that my side of the garage ain't bigger, we have the air handler and other a/c components out there and the wife refuses to park on that side. See her point as I've scraped every side view mirror on the garage and even killed the one in my Golf last year right after Irma. A bad parking angle and I clipped the wall, but really blame the wife for her rushing me to move...whatever. I put a Jetta in there back in 2014 and it just fit. The Tucson was a tight fit so having a vehicle around 170" is just ideal. Figure a new Civic/Insight could fit but would have to be careful. Sitting in the 2019 Insight again today at the Honda store has made me more interested in taking a test drive in the near future. The mpg's are pretty impressive and best to have one while I still have that 58 mile commute. Sat in the Touring model and liked the ergonomics, especially the integrated wireless phone charger already built into the center console area. Top bidder right now on a new iPhone 8 Plus in eBay so that could work. Would have to drive one home and do the garage test just to see how much room it has plus drive the damn thing. Like the acceleration I get in the Golf, heck, it ain't no Q50 but it can move when needed. Just need similar acceleration from the Insight and not sure it can do that. But still, it's the only vehicle on my short list at this point. Like the Encore/Trax vehicles but another poster in here who owns one thinks I'll be unhappy with the way it drives. The one test drive I took of the Encore back in March was o k, on a short road trip the dealer uses and was unable to get it really up to speed on the expressway. That's where I like to take any test on to see if the vehicle will be able to handle my daily drive. The Imprezza did a very good job of it even with the CVT but not sure the Encore will do as well. The Chevy store is right across the street so might just try the "LTZ" version just to see.

I leased an Impreza for 24 months. I hated it, but not because I just chased a deal. It was things about the car itself, that weren't readily discernible upon test driving.
So, it can happen either way.
Find a car you want, that has a great deal. You can get both.
Weird that @michaell says spend more for a car, when we spend our whole day helping people NOT do just that.

That's what happened with me and the Accord I leased for 36 mos.
I do want an S90. But there are other vehicles I want more. I should probably test drive some though.
I came to the decision in the middle of the night that I can't make a move no matter what. It is more than the payments; it would be silly to not use the miles I have paid for. It did briefly cross my mind to add it to the fleet, but that would be an absurd number of concurrent car payments.

It is a nice car. If you like big. Perfect for TJC. Makes decision easier for me since it isn’t close and I couldn’t get out there this weekend anyway.
Heh. I actually really like the colors, certainly better than black/black. I do find it ironic that the screen on the dash is displaying "Clean Zone" as the screen itself is covered in dust. .

My comments were for this thread only, and I think you should spend more to get the right car. Not double the payment, mind you.
You are killing me... my favorite color combo too. If this was next August this car would be in my driveway if I could score that deal. Id eat the last few payments on the Elantra if needed

RE: S90...Its a very nice car and with the deals out there an outstanding bang for the buck. Like others though, its just to big for me to DD. Might be worth a test drive to confirm. I swore a Maxima was too big for me but I had a rental in February and loved it. Definitely drove ‘small’. At 200” the S90 is bigger than our X6.
I’ve made the mistake of pulling the trigger too quick as well. I chased the deal on the E350 cabrio but it was just too big for my tastes and swung too far to the luxury side vs sport. I should have known both of those facts.
Sort of the same thing with the X1. While I still like it, I did not do a through highway test drive to check the road noise. Frankly, its not good and my commute is 30 miles one way of highway driving.

Funny seeing that picture of the Pontiac Solstice. I saw it’s cousin, the Saturn Sky, tooling around last weekend. Always kind of liked the looks of them. But, from what I remember, they were the Fiero of the day. Not particularly a good car, made from GM parts bin components (and not necessarily good ones).
The one I saw was a turbo, which was supposed to be the “hot rod” of the bunch. Heard it pull away from a light, and it didn’t sound like there was anything “hot” about it.
Those in the know, are these convertibles in any way collectible?
No, the convertibles are just "used cars" like a Miata, but the 2009-2010 Solstice GXP coupe is collectible, as they only made 1266 of them.
Thanks! I vaguely remember those coups. But, nothing there gets my blood warm.
