Sorry you had a problem with Passport as I had the opposite experience. I picked up my G35 6mt recently from Passport. Everything went great plus even though I had an ad in the paper for my old car, they offered me a trade in price that was too good to say no to.

The document processing fee is not a set number. It basically is extra profit. Some states have laws that limit the amount but I don't believe Virginia is one.

Hi, I found a dealership that is offering me a '05 coupe with the premium, navigation, and sport packages, splash guards, and trunk mat for invoice $36,053. Has anyone bought their coupes for below invoice in the LA area? Thanks.

I just want to say, although I'm still positive towards Fletcher Jones, there was quite a bit of "salesmanship" today as I finalized my deal. I guess "never let down your guard" is still sage advice for a transaction with any dealer.

I'm taking delivery on Monday and I don't expect more surprises, but certainly will be on guard. Will report again.

I just purchased 05 G35x with sunroof and trunk mat $34217 OTD and 2.9% 60 months. Is this a good deal?

Just purchased a beautiful G35 Sedan, Ivory Pearl, Wheat leather, Premium C, Trunk Mat, Full size spare and Splash Guards. We're adding an aftermarket (Genuine Infiniti) spoiler at the dealer.

Started at Peninsula Infiniti in Redwood City. Test drove a 2004, about 2 weeks ago. Stayed in contact with sales person, but wasn't ready to proceed or commit. Shopped with Edmunds, asked for 3 dealer quotes on the internet. Also shopped 3 other dealers looking for a great deal on a gently used 2004, but in the end, thought we could do better on a 2005. April 29, Peninsula Infiniti called to ask if we were still interested. Told him we had shopped around and he said "bring in your deals, and we'll beat 'em". Morning of April 30, got a great internet deal offer from Infiniti of Serramonte. Here are the numbers and how it worked out. We believe that we got a really sweet deal.

Infinti of Serramonte (Colma) MSRP 34,860 / 31,927 Invoice + 750 for the spoiler installed
Internet deal 3,688 off G35 with Premium Package (They had an Ivory one!)

Niello Infiniti (Concord, CA) MSRP 34,860. no spoiler

Peninsula Infiniti (Redwood City, CA) MSRP 35,140 + 808 for spoiler installed

We purchased on April 30 at Peninsula Infiniti, got a great deal!
We paid 32,000 + tax and license (including spoiler, installed)
Edmunds TMV is 33,770 without the spoiler, Edmunds Invoice 32,164!

We also got the 1.9%, 36 month financing (simple interest, no prepayment penalty), 0 down. In all, we were in and out in about 3 hours, start to finish. Spoiler will be installed next week.

I've received several quotes from Infiniti dealers in NJ for 2005 G35x w/ sunroof; 2 dealers were about $500-$600 below invoice (their selling price was about $30,990). Is this about as low as they go today?

Also, was investigating several lease options. I thought the following was pretty good. I welcome your comments.

    - $2,350 down, includes everything (registration, bank fee, doc fee, 1st pmt, capital reduction and tax - Dealer says its about $895 in fees plus 1st pmt and cap reduction, but his fee figure seems to low to me.)
    - $370/mo (this includes 6% NJ state tax)
    - 39 months, 12k miles/yr
    - no security dep
    - residual of 57%, (or $19,568)
    - money factor .00187 (about 4.49%)
    - no disposition fee, but I believe their is a $150 charge added to the residual value if you decide to buy at end of lease (sort of raises residual value w/out lowering mo pmts - a little sneaky)

I can't match their monthly pmt exactly, I'm about $10-11 higher, but I'm not arguing.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I am looking into buying a G35 Coupe With the premium Pkg. sticker price on the car was $38000 they would only take off $1000. Is this going price? I'm located in the buffalo NY area.
  • nycnynycny Member Posts: 11
33,800 for a G35x premium package is approximately the invoice price.
  • tram44tram44 Member Posts: 4
Is anyone near this price in the NY, NJ area? Please advise.
  • esfoadesfoad Member Posts: 210
At Salerno-Duane Infiniti in Denville, NJ, I paid 34,500 with premium pkg, rosewood dash, XM radio, and splash guards. The car already came with the trunk mat and floor mats.

Bought a G35 Sedan (RWD Auto) on Friday 4/29 from SW Infiniti in Houston. Paid about $1300 below Edmund's TMV (with only factory options).

    The car:
    Premium Package B
    Sport Suspension Package
Aero Kit (spoiler and underbody diffusers only)
    Splashguards
    Trunk Mat

Dealer Installed options included (about $450 in extras):
    Window Tint
    Wheel Locks
    Decorative Window Etching

Car comes with 2 years scheduled Maintenance, oil changes and tire rotations.

Price was $33,700 including the dest. charge and before TT&L.

Took advantage of the 2.9% for 48 mos.

I went to 3 dealers that day. SW Infiniti was the first and I originally did not intend to buy from them. They were the only dealership to offer to show me the actual invoice on the car and dealer options. In fact, the sales manager made a photocopy with their typed offer for me to take to the other dealers. The salesman was even professional enough to show me the actual cost on their dealer installed options and factored them into the purchase price at dealer cost.

West Houston Infiniti would not show me the invoice on any cars claiming that "they did not keep them on file in the dealership" and kept pressuring me VERY hard to lease the car when I had told them up front I was not interested. The floor salesman and I were on the same page about the options I wanted and the sales manager quoted me a price and was just about to start paperwork when the sales manager declared "Oh, that price isn't for the options you want though."

North Houston Infiniti did not seem to want to sell a car that day. They made a cursory attempt at an handwritten offer that was $1000 higher than the two other quotes I already had. They also told me their offer was good "today only." When I showed them the other offers they just sat there dumbfounded and then the sales manager stated "Well you can either leave with a new car today or we can keep being friends."

I guess we're still friends, but I promptly drove my butt back to SW Infiniti and bought the car from them.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. I would definitely recommend SW Infiniti based on the way I was treated by itself, not to mention their willingness to reach a fair deal.

One word of caution to those of you using Consumer Reports info...mine had bad info related to a $2K consumer rebate that did not actually exist. FYI

Everyone straightened up on this last visit to take delivery, no games (Fletcher Jones, Chicago). Car switch at the last moment had added the splash guards (no extra charge) for $34,057, 40 miles on the OD.

I was happy to drive home, wished I had a road trip in the near future!

    Good luck everyone,
    Watch your back nonetheless,

Purchased a G35x during the promotional 2.9% APR period at Lia Infiniti in Latham, NY. I have done plenty of research and finally decided that the G35x was the car for my family.

Here are the details of the car:

    Brilliant silver with graphite interior
    Premium package C
    Trunk Mat
    Splash Guards

The final price for the vehicle was $34,000, about $185 over invoice. The experience with the dealer was painless and very professional, from the phone correspondence until I walked out the door with my new baby. They made you feel right at home, negotiation was virtually effortless, and everything about the dealership breathed luxury. It was a rewarding experience to work with Lia Infiniti.

Another dealer that I dealt with was Millenium Infiniti in Manhasset, NY. I would not recommend this dealer, as the negotiation process felt like a high pressure timeshare pitch. Also, to secure the car I wanted, I had to deposit $1000. It has been a month already since I requested a refund, and they have yet to process it.

Paid $30,900 back in February for my silver 2005 G35x w/ trunk mat as the only option. $200 over invoice. Purchased at Douglas Infiniti in NJ.
Great buying experience. Took advantage of the 2.9% financing for 5 years.

Any idea of the best price I can get on a 6MT w/o premium in Houston? I've started at North Houston and they don't seem to want to move much on the price. Clear Lake doesn't want to quote, just keeps telling me about their price guarantee.

    Thanks!

Congrats, you have a great deal in front of you.

A couple hundred bucks over invoice on a G35? I wouldn't screw around, I'd take it tomorrow. I paid about $750 over invoice, but then I was asking them to find me a specific car from another dealer.

I hope you love it as much as I love mine. I keep spotting it in the parking lot and thinking, "Wow, that's my car?!?"

    Good luck!
  • morrisdomorrisdo Member Posts: 1
This is a great price and the lease price has been calculated fairly. I assume this car does not have the popular "C Package", which adds about $3000 to the price. Since I'm in NJ and am thinking of buying the same car, which dealorships are you doing business with?
  • esfoadesfoad Member Posts: 210
I purchased my '05 G35X w/ Package C and wood dash etc. from Salerno-Duane Infiniti in Denville. He knows the car (he drives the same car) and gave me a fair price right away and then no pressure. Really a good buying experience. Give him a try.
  • teamboultonteamboulton Member Posts: 27
I initially was looking at the G35X, thinking that rear wheel drive vehicles are not good in snow/rain. The dealer salesperson is actually talking me out of the all wheel drive version saying with the amount of snow we get here, AWD is not necessary. Traction control on rear wheel drive model is sufficient. Does anyone have experience with the rear wheel drive version in snow/rain?

Also, does anyone have experience negotiating for a G35 in the Indianapolis area? Unfortunately, we only have 2 Infiniti dealerships in town, and they are both owned by the same dealer.

    Thanks

North-perhaps WEST Houston Infiniti( i-10 location) will NOT budge whatsooever, even after i got a price quote from SouthWest infiniti for 2000 below the msrp. just to let you get a feel. I had a relative purchase from them at almost FULL MSRP, what a rip? I advise you to check out Southwest infiniti.

Can anyone share their purcahse price for a g35 COUPE w/ premium package and upgraded wheels package? or what do you think is a reasonable buying price??
  • frisconickfrisconick Member Posts: 1,275
Consumer Reports wholesale price for a G35 Coupe is 29,623. The dealers add a holdback of near a grand, so that is what invoice is. :shades:

I wanted a black G35 Sedan with just splash guards and trunk mat. I did a dealer inventory search on the Infiniti site, and used the "contact dealer" function to contact the 6-7 dealers (via email) who had my desired car in stock. Within 24 hours Cerritos Infiniti had emailed me a quote for $29,000 (150 below invoice). I emailed back that I wanted to pay $28,700 (450 below invoice), and Cerritos Infiniti immediately accepted (though would go no lower). The whole thing took fifteen minutes and two emails. Right after this, another dealer emailed and said he'd match the 450 below invoice offer, but his car didn't have splash guards.

The whole experience was amazingly easy -- never had to talk to any dealers in person, and there was minimal haggling due to very competitive initial offers. I highly recommend Cerritos Infiniti -- they were very no-nonsense and great to deal with (including when I went to pick up my car). And in general, I recommend emailing dealers before negotiating in person -- if nothing else, you can get some good offers in writing before going into a dealership.

I have been shopping around for a G35 Coupe lease and was wondering if anyone has found any better deals. I have received quotes from a few dealers in PA and NJ. The car in question is the G35 Coupe Automatic with the Aero package, Premium package (includes sun roof) and Sport package (including spoiler). The lease terms are 12,000 for 39 months with $2500 total out of pocket. Here is what I found:

    KBB Invoice = $34,512
    Willow Grove invoice = $34,300
Edison invoice = $33,324 (does not seem accurate, am i missing something or did they leave something out?)
    Denville = $34,200

    Edsion = $463
    Willow Grove = $460
    Denville = $424
    Flemington = $465
    Ardmore = $448 w/$3000 down

I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

    Hi,

I Live in DC/MD/VA area. I am looking at G35x with premium package, NAV and XM satellite. Now on Edmunds the Invoice price is $35806. MSRP is $39160. WHat is the right price to pay? I saw on the forum people paying either invoice or a couple of hundred above or below invoice.

I am relocating to Austin, TX in June. Is is advisable to buy the car here or in TX?

I'm looking to purchase a G35 Sedan, RWD, 5 speed automatic in the Chicago area. Can anyone recommend a quality dealer that offers professional service along with competitive prices?

Also, I saw a post that mentioned that the car they bought came with scheduled maintenance for 2 years. Is this standard practice? I assume it's only at the dealer where the person bought the car, right?

I'm looking at the inventory of various dealers (in Illinois and in the Northeast) and I see a ton of AWD sedans. Not as many RWD sedans. Is Infiniti trying to push AWDs, or are people just not buying them and Infiniti's stuck with a bunch of AWDs on the lot?
  • mosdeftmosdeft Member Posts: 8
Following the advice of one fellow forum member, I contacted some dealers through the Infiniti website, but no one really responded back when I emailed them back about the car I wanted. I don't understand the reluctance to use e-mail as a communication tool, or the fact they didn't want to sell me a car. Then I used Edmunds to contact dealers in my area and in another area of the state. I'm looking for the RWD G35 Sedan AT w/ just the splash guards & trunk mat w/ space saver tire. I actually got a quote finally, and the salesguy said $28835 + TTL and there was a like a $400+ dealer or some fee. Do you all think this is a good price? And has anyone been able to get rid of the dealer or processing fee? I read somewhere on here that it's hard to remove that fee. I'll be looking for more dealers in the mean time...Thanks!

I apologize in advance about the long post...

My 2002 BMW 325i lease expires in early October. I've researched my cars and found that I really like the G35 sedan. I've done tons of research on this car so I have a good idea about current money factor, residuals and that they're selling for about invoice (plus or minus $300). My BMW lease allows for 36,000 miles, but I'm only at 27,000 with 4 months to go. So, I figure I may be on the plus side of the equation because my payoff price is calculated assuming higher mileage.

I went to my local Southern California Infinity dealer once for a test drive and then again so they could look at my BMW to gauge trade-in value. I asked them to assume I had a high credit score (which I do), but didn't want them to run it in case I they couldn't give me a decent trade. (Don't want the "ding" on my credit report if I don't have to.) If they couldn't give me enough on the trade in, I'd just ride out my lease and come back in four months or so.

So, the salesman/internet manager/fleet manager confers with the GM and the used car manager and comes back and says, "You're not going to like these numbers because they don't think you're committed to doing this today." Well, no @#$&! I told the salesperson I was doing this on my lunch and had limited time. As a result of my "unwillingness" to make a deal that day, the first offer from them is $659 a freaking month for a 39 month lease with zero down. I about fell over.

After having some heated words with the salesperson in the middle of showroom, I walked out, with him tailing me the entire way. I told him his initial offer was insulting and was the wrong approach for fostering a committed customer. He went on and on about them needing the customer statement, that three more people needed to look at the BMW, etc, etc.

So my question is... am I out of line to be so heated about it? I mean, I HATE buying cars and this "tactic" just drives home the fact that it is a sleazy experience. Imagine if I did have all day, I would have started the negotiations at $659 a month! Secondly, it really bugged me that they needed my payoff amount on my BMW before the negotiations started. It's kinda like playing poker with your cards all facing up. You know that once they know what your payoff is, that it becomes a "negotiable" item. Should I be bothered about this? Any way to get around it, like telling them I owe about $xxxxx.xx, on the car, but refusing to give any further info.

Unless I want to do the song and dance, I'm thinking I'll just have to wait it out for 4 months until the BMW lease expires, which kinda blows. Or, should I give this dealer all my info and give them another shot at it? Anybody have any other negotiation hints for me?
  • shmoopyshmoopy Member Posts: 24
    SCDgoofy,

    Personally, I'd walk.

Never talk about your trade-in or existing lease until the final sale price and financing is already agreed upon. It's none of their business. The treatment you described belongs on cheap used car lots, not in an Infiniti (or any other luxury) dealership.

The G35 is a great car. I genuinely love mine (2005 G35x, brilliant silver, premium "C", NAV and XM). I hope those kind of tactics don't turn you off from Infiniti, because they make a terrific car at a great price.

I suggest you find another dealer and start over, perhaps by e-mail at first. If you have to drive or fly to pick it up, it'd be well worth it, and a lot of fun on the way home!

    Shmoopy
  • phtbddhphtbddh Member Posts: 15
I agree with shmoopy. That type of treatment is unnecessary and it IS insulting. I had a similar experience at a dealership in Passport Infiniti of Alexandria, VA. You can read about it in some previous posts. Anyway, take your business else where and a word of advice is to not make your negotiations during your lunch hour, because it will be you that will be in a hurry and they will sense that. I would make the negotiations late in the day, maybe an hour before they close. This is of course after test driving and making sure you like the car in the daylight on a day before you negotiate. Making the deal at night, will force the dealer to sit there and work this out. In this case, its them that want to close the deal asap and will be more willing to just give you the deal you deserve. Don't make them pressure you. If you feel like you're being pressured, walk out. It also helps to go with someone. Don't go alone or they will gang up on you.

If you want a quote from these dealers through email, you can always just tell them you got a quote from a dealer and ask if they can beat it. Use a quote this forum on a similarly loaded car. Lastly, I think it also helps if its at the end of the month for their last quota push. Good luck on your car.
  • scdgoofyscdgoofy Member Posts: 44
You guys are right. No way I'm going to award that kind of crap by giving them a second chance. There are about 6 dealers within 30 miles of me, and I'm sure one will be plenty happy to talk about a deal without the sleaze.

In fact, I did the Infiinity "request for quote" tonight on the car of my choice at the dealer closest to my house. Got a response back within a couple of hours... $260 below invoice. So, what is my next step? Do I approach this as two separate transactions, one a trade in and one a lease? I don't want to hardball them on lease numbers and then turn around and say, "Oh, by the way, I have this trade in we need to talk about." I want to be fair about, but I don't want the value of my old car to interfere with negotiating on the lease.

Maybe let them know up front that I have the trade in and will discuss it after the lease figures are finalized? Anybody been in this position before? How did you all handle it? Also, is if fair game to withhold my payoff info, or am I bound by "good faith" to reveal it?

    Thanks again...

I was recently told (and since verified) that you have a 15 day window while searching for a vehicle. During this time, only one credit check will be charged, no matter how many are submitted. There is a 45 day window for home financing or refinancing. They all must be within this window.

$485/first month = $ 1324 plus tax out of pocket. No security dep.

    Cap Cost $36946

I got a call from a nearby rival of the first dealer, and he offered to beat the price by $300. I asked the first dealer what the fees were, and he wrote in the e-mail, there is a TRANSFER OF TAG fee for $150. I have never heard of this fee in Florida, and I never saw anyone on here, or any other dealer charge such a fee. Has anyone also paid a "county tax" on top of the sales tax? Just seems very fishy. Thanks in advance!

I received a quote of $33,471 for 2005 G35 Sedan with Premium Package and wood trim. Any thoughts? Frankly, sounds about right to me. Cinci is 2 hours away, but if my local dealer can't beat it, looks like it might be worth it.
  • dgherdgher Member Posts: 5
That's about $1k over invoice, isn't it. Based upon reading posts here, you could probably do at least $1k better.
  • teamboultonteamboulton Member Posts: 27
Really? Most are going for about invoice ????
  • dgherdgher Member Posts: 5
I had no problem getting several dealers to agree to invoice. I went with the first one to go under invoice. My price including destination charge and dealer doc fees was $200 below invoice. The only thing I paid on top of that was tax and registratoins fees. I could have worked harder and got them a little lower too.

Got email a price quote for the G35x with premium package for $33599 which is a little below invoice but the dealer is about 30 miles away. There are 3 dealers within 10 miles of me. I'm going to try and see if they'll match it.
