I'm sorry things went so poorly.
Patti
But, if my job changed and I just got to work with customer's, maybe....
Anyway - thinking cap is on. See you all at the chat tonight?
Patti
Cheers Pat.
That would also avoid any perception of SoA meddling in their affairs

A special happy holidays to Patti and thanks for her continued presence and help!
Maybe if they were made aware of how successful it has been for SOA, it might change their minds.
Bob
Bob could not agree more, like I said in an earlier post SOC does not even have something as basic as mysubaru.com as is available to SOA customers, seems that SOC is happy to take our money without any sort of appreciation.
Although Patti cannot do anything to directly help up here,it was her committment and participation as well as SOA that sold me on Subaru, Honda lost me as a customer when they dropped the Accord wagon, and I was shopping other makes as well as Subaru.
So it was largely Because of Patti and discovering this crew of course that made me a happy Subaru owner, God knows it was not because of any enticement from SOC.
Cheers Pat.

The trolls are very quickly weeded out and leave to annoy some other forum.
It is rare to see such a level of empathy and caring that is regularly displayed here.
Cheers Pat.

I'm beyond words on my level of frustration. I tried to resolve this on my own by speaking with the General Manager of Rancho Auto Group in San Diego. Unfortunately, there has been very little progress.
I have written all of the details down in a three page letter. Rather than sit on the phone waiting on hold and reading this letter to a Subaru rep is there any way I can send this letter to you (or a rep) for review? You can send me an email address at: edsub.20.stuhall@spamgourmet.com Yes, that email address will work, no need to modify it.
Thanks!
Stuart
Thanks!

I've self-diagnosed my car based on various discussions here as having piston slap- ie when cold it sounds like a lawnmover for 10-15 minutes until it warms up- What is the "official" method of repair when cold
Robert
If the dealer tells you it is the normal noise, maybe send an e-mail to us via the "contact us" portion of Subaru.com. The Rep. can send you a summary of the TSB that explains it in some detail. I refrain from putting the details here because I don't want someone to assume it is normal and low and behold have a problem later. Once the dealer checks it out - they may have the TSB handy to give you the details.
Sorry - I know that this isn't much help.
Patti
How far would they go to fix if just this- replace pistons??
Thanks!
Patti

Drove the Jetta through 9 countries in 12 days (2200 miles). Top speed (that I drove) with the 1.8L 102HP 4 cyl was about 120mph (legally) on the German Autobahn.
The trip was an memorable experience. I'd like to do it again sometime.
DaveM
What a cool trip that would be! I'd also love to talk to some of the engineers that have designed our vehicles.

Didn't read your last post on this until today. Of course everything went wrong. When I call the dealer and asked about loaner cars they said, "sure". When I get there( Flemington, Nj -recommended on the other service thread) they tell me that loaners are only for major work and mine was a diagnose only so they would rent me one- didn't feel like it at that point. Given that I had driven there in the morning(a considerable distance) they couldn't hearanything then. I'm just going to drop it at the
local dealer the night before.
thanks for the input
Thanks!
Patti
It would be a fun way for us to get together! Who's in?

P.S. We'll show those Saturn owners how to have a really good time!
Got to see what the New Year brings

I do semiconductor line and equipment audits from time to time, but never seen an auto plant.
The best line tour I was ever on was at the Boeing plant for twin aisle aircraft (747, 767 & 777) up north of Seattle. I was ready to take delivery, but couldn't get my credit union to pony up the $75M for one of those babies....

Thx Patti.

Seriously, for people within a reasonable driving distance I'd think it would make a nice road trip to SIA. It's 650 miles from Baltimore and 700 miles from Philly.
