I started my pricing search by emailing local dealers, then spread out to some regional ones, then a little further out from there. Make sure that you are using email to get your pricing. I also tried the American Express and Costco pricing (although they were both higher priced).

Actually, with the Navigation, that price does not look bad to me at all. What price were you hoping for?
  • wyngatorwyngator Member Posts: 29
:shades: Actually, it is a good price. But, I guess what I am saying is that I believe that my price could have been negotiated any time in the year. I had just always heard that if you wait until the end of month (specifically the end of Dec.) the deals are crazy.

Just made a deal. Bought basic model - 2009 Santa Fe GLS, A/T, FWD for $18,395 + taxes and fees (after $2500 factory rebate). OTD price is $20,600. MSRP for the car is $24,065. Just want to know if it was a good deal?

I just agreed to a deal with a northern VA Hyundai dealer for a 2009 FWD Santa Fe Limited - 5 passenger, with a tow hitch for just under $23K, delivery, processing and tags, and taxes (3.2% in VA) put me exactly at $25K out the door.
Seems to me to be a lot of SUV for the money. My only real main concern buying a Hyundai is the poor resale value but I figured between the much lower starting price and the fact that I plan on keeping it for quite a few years it was the right call. I also think the resale #'s for Hyundai are going to improve since they seem to be making cars now on par with the competition.

    thoughts?

I just purchased this vehicle with navigation, bluetooth, cargo tray and net, and floor mats for $26,565 BEFORE the incentive. OTD price was $23, 941 and included the incentive, taxes, title etc and a $5000 trade-in.. McDonald's Hyundai in Littleton, Co was the dealership and they were wonderful. While there I got a chance to test drive the new 2010 Tucson and all I can say is WOW!

I wasn't able to negotiate such a great deal in the Seattle/Tacoma area. I couldn't get one dealer off of $26,999 for AWD. I did manage to get a price of 26k for FWD with Navigation, but I didn't realize that I would lose the Ipod connection. I live for my podcasts, so that was a deal breaker. We transferred that negotiation into a FWD and it was 24.3k before tax and license. Not bad, but I would love the 1k savings that are happening in other states.

I just purchased a SE at Priority Hyundai in Chesapeake. Only included package with floor mats, mud guards, cargo net and rear cargo tray. Invoice was $26,035. I got them down to $23,305, then got the $2000 rebate and $3500 for my trade in. Out the door price was $19,031. The salesman was really nice, but the general manager was a bit of a jerk. He didn't like the deal so he tried to get me to take $1200 for my trade in (2000 Xterra, which wasn't in the best condition). In the end, he gave me the $3500 but not their special "Priorities for Life," which included oil changes and manicures. I think it was an ego thing. He just wanted to feel like he won something. Overall, fairly easy dealership to work with. You have to do your homework on this site, though. This forum was a big help. Thanks! :)

    Hello all,

I just closed a deal yesterday before the new year on a Santa Fe Limited w/nav, bluetooth, tow package and cloth mats.
    MSRP: $32,145
Agreed on $27,455 with $5,533 for trade and the $2000 rebate bringing me to $20,000 OTD.

I traded a car that edmunds said was worth $4,200 in a trade in situation.

Did I do pretty good? Please say yes.

Hi all - test drove and liked a 2009 Santa Fe Limited (2WD) with DVD. Has 5K miles on it (dealer demo). Sticker is $30,100. What should I expect to pay? My initial thoughts are in the low 20's (with 2500 rebate). Any thoughts?

Just remember that if you buy a used Hyundai that you get only the 5 year 60K warranty but not the extended power train 100K warranty. That is something of real value and has to be factored into your pricing judgment.

I saw that Hyndai 2009 car sales topped 2008 by 7%, a remarkable achievement considering the drastic voume drop for other car manufacturers such as GM and Chrysler, even Toyota. Something is wrong out here in Las Vegas. Last May Planet Hyundai closed its brand new satellite dealership on the northwest side, and just Saturday night the Hyundai dealership on our east side hit the wall==closed suddenly without notice leaving buyers, employees and service customers stranded in the cold. You would think that Hyundai America would ge getting involved to shore up these dealers (big volume producers) to protect their market position.

Has anyone driven, priced or purchased a 2010 Santa Fe? Is it true there is a new 3.5 V-6? Is there a place where info about this car is posted? I need a car by the end of the month-considering a Murano. Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks

I do not believe that the 2010 Santa Fe's are out yet. My understanding is that they were due to be released in the Spring. So, if you want a Santa Fe, you will be looking to buy 2009 models. The 09 Santa Fe's also didn't come out until the Spring of 09.

The Murano was our first choice but was out of our price range. The Santa Fe was a close second choice for us and was much less money.

I actually just saw a 2010 Santa Fe in downtown Memphis three days ago driven by some regular folks :shades: . I am pretty sure it is 2010 because of the body color grill and the position of the exhaust. I also saw a 2010 in Orlando at the end of November but that might be a demo.

MRSP on a pretty basic GLS 4cyl Auto is around 23,900. Before any incentives how much can expect to get off MRSP from my local dealer? They have 71 on the lot.

We test drove a 2010 Santa Fe SE last weekend. Yes it is on a 3.5L 6-spd engine. Also test drove a 2009 SF SE. The 2010 SE surely felt stronger and smoother than the 2009 SE. Invoice price went up $1,200 from 2009's SE. Just in the past week, a lot of local dealerships got new shipment of 2010 SF's.

A local dealership quoted $23,200 for a 2010 SF SE AWD, including destination fee, plus ttl. Msrp is $27,895. The quote is based on the current $1,500 bonus cash on Hyundai financing. Has anyone seen a competitive quote on 2010 SF SE AWD?

How much did you pay for 2010 Santa Fe? What's the $ off MSRP can we expect?

    Thanks in advanced.

Here's an interesting post about the 2010 Santa Fe:

    http://www.hyundai-blog.com/index.php/2009/06/17/new-images-of-the-2010-hyundai-- santa-fe-style-released/

Did you know that Hyundai had to increase the production at its US mnufacturing plant due to increased demand of new Sonata and 2010 Santa Fe? In the past two months, Santa Fe sales increased and Hyundai sold more than 7.000 units each month, while Sonata has just gone on sale and it has already received some great response from consumers.

Hyundai dealers are reporting increased number of showroom visitors interested in new Sonata.

A lot of people think that Hyundai is the main company taking sales that would have gone to Toyota if it weren't for the Toyota recall mess.

I would have thought Honda would benefit the most but can understand Hyundai....Sonata and Santa Fe are strong performers and that warranty can't be beat...... :)

Got a new 2009 Santa Fe Limited for $16,500 out the door with trade of my 2006 Caravan. Like the car but can't get a good answer to what the fuel tank holds. Manual says 19.8 gallons bot I think that's wrong. Get this, dealer isn't sure. What does yours hold? Thanks.

I am trading 07 gas hog Murano in on a 2010 Santa Fe tomorrow. You will be impressed with the Santa Fe. I was..I am giving 24,000.00 for a SE. Not top of the line but not bottom of the line. Test drive one today!!

We bought a 2010 SF SE AWD on final selling price $23,400, before ttl, after $1,500 Hyundai finance bonus. MSRP $28,900 including dest fee and floor mats. The sales manager was playing kind of a hard ball game, but this price is the best deal we got after talking to 10 dealerships within 50 miles of our home. It's $5,500 below MSRP. Factor in that $1,500 Hyundai finance bonus, the dealership lowered a total $4,000 from MSRP.

The 2010 SF SE is stronger and smoother than the 2009 SF. It is also more luxurious than the 2006 Sonata V6 I have. Speaking of luxurious equipment, 2010 SF SE feels one step above 2009 SE, one step closer to Limited. All seats on 2010 SF SE are leather wrapped on the sides with cloth at the center. That is a nice combo for people who do not want hot leather seats in summer and cold ones in winter. And both front seats are heated on 2010 SF SE. Exhaust pipes are hidden behind rear bumper on the 2010 SF SE, so you don't see them. I don't remember seeing that on any other car, but it surely looks better than some luxury brands running on the road. Hyundai's slogan is "Think about it," and I bet when you test drive a 2010 SF SE, you "feel about it" and you will enjoy it. :shades:

I got aquote for 2010 santafee limited AWD $30000 TTL included after $1500 rebate.
This is Nav package floor mats , net .Is this a good price

Got to agree with you. I am not certain that the tank is the 19.8 gal claimed. The low fuel light comes on, and, unless it comes on with 3 gals left in the tank, I pretty much fill up with about 16 gals. I am not about to test that theory and let the tank run out of gas to find out. Anyone else out there have any ideas?
  • richiegrichieg Member Posts: 9
i bought a 2009 awd limited (no navigation) for $24,700 ex. tax and dmv.
in danbury conn. i think you should try harder. can't hurt.

every time i fill gas tank reading drops to 5 or 6 mpg and after driving 30 minutes
it returns to 19+ mpg as gas is consumed the mpg decreases 17,16 etc.has anyone else noticed this?

That sounds like good deal. Can you share your MSRP and what was your price before TTL? so we know how much $ off did you get. Also, did you took advantage of $1000 or $1500 rebate?

Can someone show me how to figure out a lease payment for a 2010 Santa Fe AWD Limited? MSRP is $31,330. Do you go by that or by the price you get them down too? I was trying to use a lease calculator online, but I don't know what the residual value and money factor are. Does anyone know these numbers? And what are other people paying for the final offer on one? I'm in Western Pa.

MSRP is 33540 and came down to 28400 (Including 1500 rebate)

I am in Chicagoland. We bought a 2010 SF SE AWD from Grossinger Hyundai in Lincolnwood. See my post of Feb 14. I believe the sales manager at Grossinger cheated $200 out of us - his initial promise was $23,200, including dest fee, before ttl, but he raised it to $24,500 when we got to the dealership. Can you believe that? We had to negotiate back to $23,400 on the final deal. But, $23,400 was several hundred dollars lower than the best quote from any other dealerships in Chicagoland. From what I heard, that sales manager had clashes with other customers too, and their general manager was trying to resolve problems caused by this sales manager. The salesgirl was good and straight talking.

I've always had good impression of Pugi Hyundai in Downers Grove, because they've always been honest. It was just that this time Grossinger was trying to hit a sales goal, and gave deeper discounts.

By the way, we absolutely enjoy this 2010 SF SE AWD.

I am looking to purchase my first vehicle. I have read all the tips and tricks for negotiating on Edmunds.com. One question though, am I getting a good price? I am looking to buy the base model 2010 Santa Fe GLS with absolutely no frills. Internet salesman said I could get the Sante Fe for $20,800 before TT&L, and walk out the door for $22,369.53. Should I try to negotiate more or should I be happy getting $3,200 off of MSRP? TIA.
  • maringamaringa Member Posts: 36
Anyone know what the March incentives are? Same as last month?
  • togrovetogrove Member Posts: 25
gopokes, I am not familiar with GLS pricing, but does the dealer's quote include the $1,500 Hyundai finance cash incentive? If that $3,200 includes the $1,500 finance rebate, you could expect a better deal. In my case of an SE, my dealership lowered $4,000 beyond the $1,500 Hyundai finance cash. In other words, my dealership lowered $5,500 from MSRP. So I assume for a GLS, some dealers are willing to lower $4,000 to $4,500 from MSRP. Of course, that depends on how many dealerships are within a reasonable distance from you. Good luck.

$31225 OTD (after the $1500 in rebates and with all taxes and docs fees in place)

O'Hare Hyundai- see Jack Kim... great buying experience!!! Car is black on black. BEAUTIFUL and our FIFTH (5th) Hyundai! Second Sante Fe and still have the first. :)

Great price, seeing as we almost purchased the Pilot Touring 2010 an hour or two before this purchase fro $36900 OTD

Can you tell us what the sticker price was, and what the final price before taxes and fees? Trying to get an idea of discount...We are wanting to purchase a Limited w/Nav...FWD...Some people above are saying around $5,000 discount with rebates, but I think there are mistakenly talking about a 2009 vs. a 2010. Not finding much discounting around here yet....

    AWD ~ 2010 ~ SANTA FE ~ NAVIGATION ~ 6 CYLINDER

    Sticker was $30295 + $2250 for navigation + $125 for floormats= $33465.00

The bill looked like this (if it helps out):
    $29996.55 price
    $154.38 Doc fee
    $2454.07 sales tax
    $120.00 L&T Trans
    ______________________
    $32725.00 total without rebates
    ($1000.00) rebate
($500.00) we took their financing so they gave us an extra $500
    ______________________
    $31225.00 total paid

Hope this helps. We got exactly what we wanted, too, on the car. :)

PS: I shopped online and brought the quotes in. Chicagland is short of 2010 AWD with navi in black w/black interior. We love the car and the color!!

    I have received a price of $23,500 (+$795 destination +$100 processing + $200 tags+ taxes). OTD is $26,000.

What do you think? Any options worth adding? I don't know why they don't include the cargo shield... that's just cheap. :confuse:
  • hate_car_shopghate_car_shopg Member Posts: 9
I don't know the pricing of FWD. Check out carsdirect.com and see if you are lower. Also email a bunch of dealers and get an exact description laid out, and have them tell you how much the rebates are. There are two in Chicagoland, $1000 and $500 (if you use their financing). Make SURE they tell you in the email it's a 6cylinder, too
  • ojtwelveojtwelve Member Posts: 4
Was this a base Limited? Who was the dealer?

    Juat a thought....

Whenever you ask a question about if it's a good deal or not OR tell your purchase price, please include MSRP. Without that it is very hard to judge anything.
