I have negotiated a price for a 2005 HL V6 7 pass. LTD. for $43,284.35 (the MSRP was 47,900).
Our lease rate is 5.5% (48mos.) and our purchase rate is 2.9% (48 mos.)therefore payments would be $715/mo (lease) and $956/mo (purchase)with nothing down for either. Is this a good price?

We had previously stopped by Glen Toyota in Fairlawn at 8:00PM one evening for my wife to test drive, and they said to come back tomorrow as it was getting late! They did throw out a price, of about $2K below MSRP but I didn't bother w/ a counter offer as they just didn't seem to care about selling me a car (I had used them for service for a few years, for my old Camry). Glen is a little closer to my home but Prestige seemed more professional and had a larger inventory.
Just be warned, they get extremely busy on Saturday and you will not find a sales person to help you out. Your best bet is to go through the internet dept. or during the week.
Also, watch out for the $200 'Processing fee'. They tried adding the $200 this junk fee and I told the sales guy that I wasn't paying the fee and walked out. As I getting into my car, the sales manager came up to me and said they would waive the fee.
I was close to reaching agreement to buy a Highlander in Central Ohio yesterday (4/4/05) but called off the deal because we were several hundred dollars apart from the buying experiences posted on this site as well as Fitzmall prices I do not need a new car right away.
Now that the $750 incentive from Toyota has expired, is another likely to follow? Also, does this automatically mean that the out-the-door price of a new Highlander will be higher this morning?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.
Only Toyota knows the answer to that question. :surprise:
" Also, does this automatically mean that the out-the-door price of a new Highlander will be higher this morning? "
Yep. Gotta watch those incentives.......
I went through an internet manager. He did not have a car with this color in stock but he got it from another local dealer for me the next morning.
The Internet folks at Koons Annapolis were less responsive and pretty much just responded to my quote with an e-mailed advertisement of their current specials.
Good luck!
I received a quote for $33,124 for a 4x4 Limited with third seat and the following options. Is this a decent price?

Correct me if I am wrong but when a manufacturer offers a rebate (let's say $1K), that rebates does not get deducted until the final bottom line numbers is listed.
That's to say, after all options and taxes have been figured out.
In fact, I am almost positive (have to look at some of my old sales records).
So when I see people posting prices on here such as $26,500 (after rebate) I thing they are misinformed. You do not collect the rebate until after the bottom line number is figured out. So basically, you are not saving the extra tax $ on the $1K because it is not subtracted until after the final sale number.
Am I way off base here...(that's the way they do it here in FL)
Your thoughts?
Darcars (specifically 355 Toyota) has the best listed prices on the net in the DC area. Shop their prices with other dealers in the area and see if any will beat it.
The northern VA dealers all wanted me to visit their dealership to provide final pricing - I was not interest in doing that. I visited Alexandria Toyota (because I work near there), but they would not touch the price offered by Darcars. Koons Tysons said they would beat all other deals, but wanted me to come by on a weekend. They are huge and far too busy for me to do that.
In MD, Fitzmall and Carmax have firm pricing which, in my opinion, is too high. Koons Annapolis was willing to beat the Darcars price by $100, but I found out that their vehicle did NOT have the preferred pkg {mats, net, glass break, wheel locks, first aid} included. This package was worth at least a few hundred dollars. The smaller Toyota dealers do not have much of an internet department and most never got back to me. Those that did write back had VERY HIGH prices.
Baltimore area dealers were not even interested in hearing about the low price quoted on Darcars Website.
I shopped the 355 price amongst Darcars dealers and found the exact vehicle I wanted at Darcars Frederick. They were extremely helpful and gave me NO hassle. Everything was as expected and I had no problems. I recommend them - but stay away from Darcars Silver Spring, they don't seem to be well organized.
One thing that I find surprising about the locales where "cheap, no-hassle" dealers are located (like Fitzmall and Dacars) is that the Edmunds TMV in those zip codes is actually higher for most cars than where I live (Ohio). I cannot prove this scientifically, but I did check for the few Highlander configurations I was interested in...regional adjustment is negative for Ohio zip codes and positive for these zip codes.
What puzzles me is that if I lived anywhere near these places, I would check there first and then compare....if that logic applies to most people, the average selling price in these places (whcih is what I understand TMV to be) should be less, not more than other locales.
Anyone else curious about this?

Also, if you go to your credit union for the loan, you may not encounter restrictions on the term of the loan. At the dealership, to get the best APR offered (3.9%) you must finance it for either three or four years (I forget which one!) which may increase your monthly payment above what you are able to pay. At the credit union you may be able to extend the term of the loan to five years, thereby reducing your montly payment (but slightly increasing the overall cost of the car with the added interest). However, if you got a 3.9% APR, you may want to get the longest term loan you can, take the extra money you have allocated towards a car payment each month and pay off your higher-interest credit cards!!

Am looking for a new 2005 Toyota Highlander FWD (2w/drive). (Might consider demo.)
Anyone disappointed with the 4 cyl? Is the 6cyl a better bet even w/reduced mpg?
Your time is appreciated.....
re: V6 vs 4cyl....I chose V6 due to higher expectations on resale value. Recent round trip to Vegas returned 25mpg overall...about 50 miles of city driving in Vegas, and A/C use at all times. AND, I don't drive slowly... Very satisfied....
I can't seem to get the SE Toyota Dealers to budge off MSRP so was just curious. Maybe it is just the SE dealers are hard nosed and won't budge or we are going to have to dig in harder to get a better price.
Buying a car shouldn't have to be this hard and vary this much!
Can anyone provide feedback on prices paid in Connecticut?
In your experience, who is the best dealer in Atlanta to buy a Limited V6 highlander (in terms of ease of dealing with, customer service and inventory).
Thanks.
