24/12 - 69% and .00088

36/12 - 62% and .00060

The MF quoted are the base MF; they can be inflated by the dealer for more profit, but cannot be lower than that posted.

Hello -

I've been working with a dealer in NJ on a 2016 CX5, AWD Touring.
He has been pretty transparent with the numbers.

MSRP – $27,600
CapCost $25,276
Residual is 62% of MSRP which equals $17,112
Money factor is .0006, or 1.44%
NJ Taxes are 7%
36 month lease, 12k a year

Seems pretty good so far...

I put these numbers into a lease calculator and I come to $269.87 per month. I even did the lease long hand and got to the same result.

The dealer tells me that my calculators must be wrong. His lease number is $292 per month.

I gave him my breakdown of depreciation, interest and taxes and asked him to show me where we're different. He came back to me with "$292 is the best we can do - that's what the mazda lease calculator tells me". Seems like he is burying $700 of profit somewhere in the numbers.

So my questions are -
1. Is my lease calc correct?
2. Anyone ever have this issue with a mazda lease?

I get the same number you do ... $269.87/mo. Is there any money up front for acquisition fee, etc ? if not, that might account for the difference. Acquisition fee is $595 for Mazda.

Politely ask him to show you his calculations ... "trust, but verify".

Yes - Mazda offers 24, 30 and 33 month terms. And mileage as low as 10K per year.

No, it means that Mazda is no longer supporting leases on the 2015 CX-5's. The 2016's have been out for several months and will probably be cheaper to lease at this point.

It means they probably aren't offering leases on the 2015 model. The 2016 has been out for awhile.
