Had to go into MB service this morning to have them add air to my tires.  TPM displayed 29 psi for the fronts and 34 psi for the rears this morning.  Going down to 48 degrees tomorrow morning so I wanted to make sure the air pressure was 35 psi for all 4 tires - this way the pressure will be 32 psi in the cold air tomorrow.

My front tires only have about 2000 miles left on them.  Rears are fine for another 5000-6000 miles.  These run flats wear out very quickly - especially in the front.  I am not hard on my tires - but service manager said these tires rarely last past 10,000-12,000 miles.  He suggested putting Michelin’s on which provide 16,000-20,000 miles of wear.

He said he will meet the lowest price online for any tires I want - even Tire Rack.  That was stupendous considering dealerships usually charge 20% more than Tire Rack or other suppliers.  This way I have Mercedes change the tires and reset the TPM’s which is preferrable.

Man, I don't know about that. Buy a new car, and the dealer tells you the new tires on your new car are only good for 10k miles???

I guess if you're buying a $100k automobile, the price for a set of tires is not going to stop you.

    But still ...

Anyway, yes that is good the dealer will price match. Given that, I would definitely use the dealership.

I think my IPad uses Safari but something has changed in the last few days. My account would stay open for weeks or longer unless I logged out. Then I had to log in every morning and just now I had to log in again after being away for less than an hour. There’s only one log in portal that still works so if that goes you may not hear from me again.

It seem everybody is getting a turn at this problem almost like the site is testing us one by one.

Some of that was just very bad driving. And some of it was why, if you're going to pull a heavy load, you should get a serious truck and a 5th wheel or goose neck hitch. I pulled a couple of big, heavy travel trailers, for several thousand miles, with no incidents. But I used a 5th wheel hitch on a 3/4 ton Ford diesel truck.

Many of those swaying incidents leading to a wipe out could have been avoided simply by using a load leveling hitch equipped with sway control. Which can be had for under $300, by the way.

Lily is home today; but, she needs to be separated from the other two dogs, hence the kennel.

We are scheduled to see an internist later this week. She has multiple ailments - heart, liver, kidneys, and an unknown mass by her esophagus. She is on a number of meds to keep her comfortable while we figure out what happens next.

All three of our dogs are doxies.

Just missed out on a 2015 Ford Fusion SE. 52k miles. Loaded. Leather. Sunroof...etc. etc.etc. $11,700. Which is in the middle of Kelley Blue Book private party. The Craigslist ad went out Wednesday, and made an appointment to see it Saturday. Somebody else bought it Friday. The car was a one owner, in what appeared to be like new condition. Serviced at dealership. Come across a car like that on Craigslist about once every blue moon. Oh, well. The search continues!!

Oh, about the only thing I wasn't really sure about on the car was the 1.5 liter ecoboost engine, at 180 hp I believe. Real world mpg wasn't as good as advertised, from what I read. Also, some reviewers expressed concern over that 1.5l turbo ecoboost engine. Would have preferred the 2.0 turbo at around 248hp.

I see a lot of those down here and I am extra careful going around or trying to get by them. Many of them look very unstable, especially the one's with tiny thin tires, or they look unbalanced because the wheels are set so far in with giant overhangs.
Some have wheels like this, looks very unstable:

A lot of trailers were made of wood....like plywood and don't have much real structure. Best to stay clear.

Gas mileage with an Ecoboost is dependent on the drivers foot weight. When I had mine I rarely got the mileage listed on the sticker - unless I was being frugal. The low end torque made it difficult. :)

The 1.5 is adequate for normal driving. I had an Escape with the 1.6 (similar) and, other than finding out I hated driving a CUV, it was fine.

My Fusion had a 2.0 and, yes, it was much better.

Gotta move quick on those gems. On my son’s Sable I saw it on CL one night and called within the hour to make an appointment for the next morning. Test drove and bought it on the spot for a little less than asking.

When we went to pick up the car the owner said she had gotten calls with offers to buy it for more.

Said it earlier, the WEB developer for Edmunds needs a “corrective measures” meeting, or they need to find a new developer. This is crazy for a site as large as Edmunds to be experiencing this.

We’ll mention the issues to them as they happen because we’ve formed a little community. Think of the amount of new people who come here looking for advice and suffer the same glitches. They won’t tell you they’re leaving. They just won’t come back.

Edmunds is CRAZY on that one! And that seller is also off his/her rocker. The Isuzu has an auction value of $2750. The Chevy version is only $1200 more. Private party? Hell, $5k for the Isuzu would be more than enough.

There are certain vehicles that Edmunds is completely wrong, can be either way. I remember my Subaru STI was in a very high demand at that time (by those who wanted such a vehicle, of course) and Blue Book had the trade in value in low 20s at the time, validated by two dealers' offers (one offered the money w/o me buying a car from them). Edmunds had the value pegged at less than 18 thousand. It was over 20 percent difference. I think the difference was generated by some spread between places that didn't know and want the car and those that understood its niche appeal. I think my previous manual wagon with sports pack would be another one where "book value" by any of those websites is meaningless, cause it's derived by computers from automatic sedan population.

Here in Texas, they would get $6k or $7k easy for that Isuzu. Except -- is that rust in picture number 5, down by the door sill?

Yeah..The mpg with the 1.5 ecoboost wouldn't have been a big deal. I'm not A lead.foot. A lot of reviewers talked about the 1.5 not having enough engine displacement...the heat generated wasn't conductive to long term reliability. But reliability numbers looked good to me.

I think that’s a dealer selling as “owner” so the prices might be expected to be higher. You can see the Mannheim stickers on the window. That said I thought the price was a tad high on something that old. Was surprised that Edmunds thought it so valuable but as I said before, trucks go for crazy money.

I’d love to know what that dealer paid at auction. If it was close to what you say he’s certainly swinging for the fence.

The Edmunds forums now won't let me log on from my Android. I tried going to edmunds.com and going to research and forums there. No luck. It acts like I'm signing in okay and takes me for forums.edmunds.com.

It keeps telling me my password is wrong and reminds me that capitalization is important--duh.

When I go to edmunds.com|research|automobile forums, it acts as if I'm signed in just fine.

@Michaell , I hope Lily bounces back. I am going through a very bad time with my cat Rusty right now, looks like possible liver failure. He may not be with me much longer unless he does a quick turnaround in the next day or two. When they go bad, they go really quickly. I'm gutted.

Sorry to hear this ab. How old is Rusty? IIRC he has been with you for a long time. What is going on here, pets are starting to go one after the other? I am hoping for the best, it hurts too much to lose our furry friends.

Would you consider buying this as opposed to a Chevy which has a Edmunds dealer retail price of$10,000+?

I would say NO judging by that floor mat on the passenger side.

Another thing I would worry about is how available would parts be? We are talking Isuzu here.
Actually, it’s not. It’s a poorly rebadged Chevy Colorado hence my question. I understand Isuzu just stuck some decals on and called it their own. At least when Mitsu did it with the Dodge Dakota they put on a different grill.

Here's hoping Rusty perks up soon.

I've had him for 11 years but he is older than that. I had seen him wandering through my yard around 2005 or so. Noticed him because he was such a large cat. He was apparently abandoned a couple of years later and started hanging around so I took him in. I'd guess he is 15 to 17 years old. Not a cuddly cat, more of a strong silent type, but I really like him (of course) and he is the last cat I currently have, after having as many as 4 at times over the years. Such is the problem with having elderly pets.

As I said, each of us is getting a turn.

If it was close to what you say he’s certainly swinging for the fence.

didn't notice that, so now looked it up ... he/she paid $2100.

I made a decision to subscribe to Amazon Prime for only one reason - Prime Video!  It’s $119 a year which includes Prime TV/movies and videos, Prime music, and the free shipping for Amazon.  So far, I find Prime better than Netflix.

I originally jumped on Prime when it was quite a bit cheaper ($80?), and mainly for the free shipping. I had it for a year or more before I ever tried the streaming service.

I think Netflix has more titles, and they have some very good original material (movies and series). But Prime is a very good supplement. For the price, I will keep both.

    YMMV
