The Cloudflare/Vanilla axis was misbehaving badly this morning.
Ain't that the truth. The only good thing about this is that it's not my problem to try to get it fixed or get someone to fix it. I have enough problems of my own. Latest was that when I clicked "pay" on Tracfone site and it never completed the order indicating that it bought another year of service for my wife's fone at $192. I had forgotten that Brave browser sometimes had trouble with the popup buttons and windows on certain sites...

I didn’t say you or I would want an ICE car after it was fire damaged but when insurance companies total these cars a good number of them are repaired and sold as a “salvage car”. Again, neither of us would want it but there is a market for salvaged cars otherwise they wouldn’t repair a burned ICE car. But, there is nothing to salvage when an EV car erupts.

The "special" tires for EVs are also often further optimized for rolling resistance, since that kills their range.

If someone likes your Jeep they may put a duck on the hood. Some people put them up on the dash, some don't.

I'm starting to see other cars with ducks sitting on the dash. They, evidently, don't get what it's all about.

I saw in a news article that the lady who started it all passed away recently.

Someone asked me if I named my Wrangler- I told him I named it NDA; No Ducks Allowed. On a couple of other forums I noted that my Wrangler is a CDFZ: Certified Duck Free Zone.

About Vanilla, I can't log back in on Brave browser after cleaning extra files on computer using ccleaner. But I can open Firefox browser and log right in to previous login to the forum topics.
Next I'll try Chrome. (Brave is based on chrome's engine?)

forums.edmunds.com/discussion/bookmarks is the only one. I check other forums less frequently and no problems. After closing Brave and checking Chrome and Firefox, I now restarted Brave and I was able to sign in with no "malformed" error.

When I do post a comment on Brave and Firefox, I get a slow posting with the Save Comment button staying greyed out, and after 20 seconds or so I get a flydown menu on screen telling me communication with Vanille between Cloudflare and Vanilla had a problem.

The draft post does NOT get deleted from the topic but the post does get added.

    EDIT:
I'm on an HP laptop that originally was Win 7 now Win 10 using Brave browser.
And the edit was added to the original post normally, without delay like when the original post went up.

Did real repair work today. My sister is visiting and her fairly new forester glitched. Infotainment lost audio (display was fine). She read the manual as I instructed and did some googling and learned how to hard reboot. Did not help. So she called a local dealer (we were at the wedding) that suggested pulling the negative terminal.

She was stopping at our house on her way back home so I pulled out the wrench set and got out a 10 mill. Loosened it up and took off the negative for a few minutes, put it back on, cinched it down and not only did car start sound came back after the system had a chance to get fired back up. I felt like such a mechanic.

Maverick worked again today. Returned the tables
    We
Borrowed and then stuffed to the gills taking stuff home and dropping off flowers and
Returned rented party stuff. Little thing worked hard this weekend (unsung hero to getting the wedding off without a hitch!). Put on about 250
Miles, and the TC reported about 43 mpg overall

Oh, I finally got to use my ratchet straps too to make sure the tables stayed in the bed.

I had an early tennis game but thanks for catching me up.
I checked the other link and they had a video showing the trucks cordoned off, I guess to investigate.
    What a mess........

Although EV fires are rare they said, they are harder to put out apparently.

I’m not sure what a renntech upgrade is but I installed a factory upgrade to my Mustang a few years back. It gave me a little more horsepower and torque. Not earth shattering but noticeable.

How much would it cost and what kind of performance are you expecting?

Renntech is an aftermarket automotive performance tuning company located in Florida that specializes in Benz products. Since it's not a factory upgrade I would be weary of it for obvious reasons.

Renntech is generally well-regarded, it all depends on the strength of the tune and what you are looking for I suppose. I am sure it can go from mild to wild.

Local MB shop is the only regional Renntech retailer, they've hinted they'd like to do my wagon.

Renntech has been around for decades and is well respected in the tuning community. I would not hesitate to go with a Renntech tune if one was available for my car. My E24 M6 had a Dinan chip, my Club Sport has a Turner/Conforti chip, and my MS3 had a Hypertech flash tune- no problems or issues with any of the three- on either street or track.
A good tuner knows the limitations of a given platform. For example, the 2.3 liter GDI turbo in the MS3 had a ceiling of around 300 hp with a stock turbo and internals. Some tuners eked out a few more horsepower, but the usual result was what the Mazda community called "Zoom-Zoom-Boom!"
My research on the M276 DELA 30 motor in the C43 indicates that a +65 hp (450 hp) tune is the safe limit for an engine on stock internals. Will I go that route? I'll probably be a bit more conservative- 30 hp and 44 lb-ft of torque.

I might not be against that idea. Not sure if I would want anything too hot though - definitely no suspension mods, and I might be leery about exhaust. The wagon is plenty fast as-is, but I suppose a little more wouldn't not be fun

Recent MB 6 cyl engines have proven to be very stout. Some 48V issues for 2021, but prior cars like yours and mine seem to be able to handle a lot.

For mlevine, both of his cars can probably handle some mods.

I would be wary of aftermarket upgrades. The ATS forums have long been filled with tales of woe from people who bought "tuner" upgrades from the many places offering them for the 2.0T who later go online to complain how they blew up their otherwise stock engine, quelle surprise. You're rolling the dice.
