@imiadozel97, Can't beat $20 for 5 months, you just have to call to cancel, then find out what the next deal is.
I did cancel on the Pilot about 6 weeks ago. About two weeks ago I got a flyer saying they wanted me back and would offer 6 months for $29.95. With fees and all it was around $37--so about $6/mo. It is nice to have XM back again, for now.

I pointed out a nice Audi A5 in a parking lot today. Wife agreed that it looked nice, but said she didn't want a 2 door.
that is what I get for asking her opinion I guess.
We test drove an A5 when we bought our 2013 A4. We took the A5 out because it was a manual. Then we tried the 4 door A4 because my wife will only buy a 4 door....she wants people to be able to get in the back and she doesn't like the wide doors on a 2 door.
The A5 is a great looking car and it was nice to drive, but, I really like the 4 door more. Better sightlines, higher seating, seems more balanced, more room, and more comfortable.. Just one opinion....try the 4 door too.
What are the prices that anyone has gotten from SiriusXM? They're offering $99 for the year in one mail offer. I see 5 months for $20 for select plan on their page for their current preview for all promotion.
I just renewed our two for $99. per year each. They originally wanted over $200. each.

Got the email for the auto renewal on the wife's Outback. Yes, > $200/year.
I've got a note in my calendar to call them the day before and cancel. See what they come back with.

I would love to know the percentage of people who renew at the full rate. I don't like that business model, because if you ever pay the full rate, and find out you were paying about double, you will probably drop them. I would be very upset. I think they would be better off saying it is $120 a year and you can have a one time trial offer for $30 for 6 months, the end. Then I would even trust them with my credit card.
$499 for tinting? You could have a very large van tinted for less than that!
Well, there's tinting and then there's tinting. Living in Phoenix I've learned quite a lot about it and don't particularly care for the really dark tints, so had Huper Optik put on my TSX eight years ago. Really great stuff and not nearly so dark as the stuff I had on the Lincoln LS. Expensive, though, but worth it in my opinion.
Which is why that add-on sticker would have upset me more than usual. Not only wouldn't I have paid for their tint, but I would have wanted it removed.
We may be in the market for a Subaru Forester sometime in the next year; hope the local dealers aren't as miserable as that one.
I saw a Honda Civic with a shark tooth grill today....it was actually kind of funny and suited the car. Can't find one but this gives you an idea:
Kind of funny, but then again, I saw a Miata with those eyelashes on it this morning. Made me think to ask, what kind of thins (Ricky Ricardo-speak) would you NOT do to your car? Remember Le Car?
There was a guy around here in the early 80's who had a beat up Torino, and on the rear quarter panels he put big decals that said CAR. He didn't even try to get them in the same place on each side or get them on straight.
It's amazing that dealers have the gaul to charge $199 for nitro-fill for your tires. Every dealer I've bought cars from in the past 15 years does not charge for nitrogen. In fact, they only have a few air compressors to provide compressed air for blowing dust off brake assemblies, etc. 95% of their hoses are fed by their nitrogen compressor.
Reducing the amount of oxygen in tires reduces oxidation, but all the nitro fill does is reduce oxygen levels by 40%. 70% of our air is already nitrogen.
It reduces the amount of pressure variation produced by heat. I only see the value if you are racing the car. I did, in fact, opt for the $130 upcharge from my Caddy dealer to get lifetime nitro. It was my own little experiment for not much money, and I have noticed that the pressure in the tires is affected very very little by temps, so I'm pleased enough with it.

Any charge for nitrogen maybe more than a few bucks is a total rip-off. I have had it in multiple cars, including the current Lexus, and it hasn't made even a slight amount of difference in my variation of pressures in my tires with changes in temperatures. Also, how do we know that they're really filling the tires with pure N2, not 80% N2 (air)? It's a total money-making proposition for the dealership, a hoax IMHO. Let me see the statistically significant studies showing it makes a difference in the tires (not on race cars), then I'll be just a mild skeptic .
I was skeptical about using nitrogen instead of air in tires until I read this excellent article. There are several advantages, the biggest one being air contains oxygen, and oxygen rots things like tires and wheels. Air contains 20% oxygen and that oxygen does cause rot. Another factor is oxygen is a smaller molecule, and so some of the air pressure escapes....approx 1 to 3 pounds a month. Nitrogen won't escape.
An interesting statistic was: Americans alone waste over 8.5 million gallons of fuel EACH DAY due to under inflated tires.
Not sure I've ever seen or heard of rot in tires or wheels, but maybe it's because I don't keep a car long enough . And, again, are we sure we're getting pure N2 in our tires?
Again, has made no difference in any of my cars with it.
Gee, those guys wouldn't have an axe to grind or anything, would they? Dry nitrogen, which is an industrial gas that comes in cylinders, might have something going for it, as getting the humidity out of the tires is at least as important as the oxygen. This is the first I've heard that an oxygen molecule is 1/4 the size of a nitrogen molecule. If I cared more, I'd research it further.

Did an experiment with my mountain bike and purged the air and filled the tires with nitrogen. They maintained pressure a lot longer than just using air, so there's definitely something to the molecule size and leakage. We've been using nitrogen in our tires for maybe 4 years now. Tire shop I use only uses nitrogen, no extra charge. The unit that filters the air and spits out nitrogen runs to all their air hoses and tire changing equipment.
The outside of the tires are exposed to the normal atmosphere with the normal amount of oxygen (O2). The machinery used at stations to generate the nitrogen (N2) is not separating the nitrogen completely from the other gases even when operating to full ability. Who knows how inefficient they become when not service with replacement materials to save cost.
I read lots of the advertisements from companies selling the "generators" to the dealers and most of the ad was how much money the stations could make selling the gas to the customer. Nitrogen for _passenger_ car use is on a par with bottled water and global warming. For the trucking industry, which reuses the carcasses of tires over and over for 100's of thousands of mileage with retreading, slowing the aging of the internal rubber may have an advantage. However, most of us don't keep a vehicle over 3 years let alone long enough to have the tires retreaded several times.
Like I said, I'd personally not use it if not tracking the car. But that's just my personal preference. I don't want to have to go to the shop all the time for top-offs or what have you.
As for the caddy dealer, they have a special separate machine. They suck all of the air out of the tire, then refill with nitro.

It does cost the dealer to provide NitroFill for its cars and/or customers. When I was at Ininiti, the owner decided to invest in an appliance or machine (for lack of a better term) that produced 95% Nitrogen from air. It was like an extractor that reduced oxygen and hydrogen levels, thus increasing Nitogen percentages. He charged a fee of $50.00 on each vehicle sold.
When new and pre-owned cars came in, the mechanic took all 4 tires off the car and deflated them. NitroFill was then put into the tires. The process had to be repeated 3 times to get the correct amount of NitroFill in each tire. So not only was there an initial cost involved for equipment, but there was additional costs for labor as well as monthly expenses to have the equipment checked by the NitroFill contractor.
My Mercedes-Benz dealer(s) all had NitroFill available for all their cars at no additional charge - but the dealer fee took care of marginal costs.
As for knowing if a dealer is actually putting Nitrogen rich gases in your tires, there is no way I know for sure of checking.

That's wrong....02 and N2 are almost the same size. Oxygen is smaller in size but not much smaller. An oxygen molecule weighs more, though.
However, this size difference is apparently enough to matter when squeezing through polymer chains. In a larger opening, it would make no difference. This passage through the rubber is called "permeation" and N2 permeates more slowly than 02.

I also think it's a bit of a scam. In my case it would be of no value unless I had a huge tank of N2 I could bring to the track- as I'm always checking and adjusting tire pressures based on how the tires are performing.

Here goes, the final chapter of Son #1 buying his 2016 Kia van:
We met at the ice rink where grandson #2 had a practice.
I asked him several questions, as I show below, but before I asked them I told him to wait until I got a piece of paper and a pen out of my car. He had a strange look on his face and said, "What? Are you going to write a book about this"? His mother now starts to laugh and says, "Oh yeah, he takes notes and he has done this to me a couple times already. He tells some friends on line about it". Son # 1 says, "OK, whatever makes you happy but maybe you should get a tape recorder if you're going to keep doing stuff like this".
Me: So, I guess everything went smoothly since I see your new van. Good luck with it.
Son #1: Yep, all the paper work was in order so it took almost no time to get out of there and head back.
Me: I don't want to ask what you paid for it, that is your business, but I gather the price was $100 more than the guy in Virginia.
Son #1: Yep, exactly $100 more, to the penny.
Let me stop here for a minute and explain that the dealer in VA had the best price OTD even with the $600 doc fee (reduced from the original doc fee of $800). But, my son just couldn't get it through his head and felt that $600 was still waaay to high and wanted it reduced even further. That's when the SM got arrogant and killed the deal.
Me: So, you were willing to spend $100 more just out of principle, right?
Son #1: Yes I was. Dad, this is 2016 and $100 is not earth shattering any more. Spread that over 66 months and I can't even smell it. (since Kia was offering 66 months free financing he financed. As he put it, "Why wouldn't a person take free money if it's being offered.") Once that SM essentially said take it or leave it. I left it. I've gotten over it and I'm sure he has too. He had a very good price and I'm sure he'll sell that van to someone else with no problem. I just didn't want him to sell it to me.
I was going to be driving out of town to buy anyway. Since the mileage was about the same, it didn't make any difference to me if I went South or West. Didn't someone once say go West young man, go West.
Me: Yeah, but you ain't as young as that guy he was referring to.
Son #1: Yeah, but I'm still younger than you. Have you got enough material about this or are you just getting started.
Me: I've got enough but maybe a poster buddy or two might want more.
Son #1: I'll tell you what. Maybe they shouldn't care about how I buy cars. If you're on a car site, more than likely they buy more often than me.
He's probably right about that. His plan is to keep this van for 6 or 7 years and he has a track record to prove it.
Now all he has to do is sell his '08 Town and Country with around 180K miles on it. I don't think that is going to be real easy to do.

Very nice cars Andre. Where would the license go on the front of the TT. (if you had to have one) How did you get a rear license with the Audi logo?
I don't know about other states but in Florida you can choose from about 50 designer plate designs.
That rear plate is just an advertisement for my selling dealer. It's a cardboard or plastic cutout painted white with the Audi logo on it, framed with "Audi Escondido"chome-look plastic frame. Not a real plate.
The front plate goes smack dab in the center-middle of the front grill. You can't see the brackets and holes for screws because they hid them on angled brackets behind the horizontal grill. So you install a plastic rectangle trim piece that sits on top with 2 screws holding it in place plus friction/compression, and then you install the aluminum plate with 2 more screws that go into that plastic trim holder.
the aftermarket sells tow hitch license plate holders too.

It's a Golf Wagon nowadays, but I admit only a VW aficionado would notice the difference. I would totally get a Golf wagon TDI as a daily driver if I still could. The base model is reasonably priced and well equipped. Only problem was it didn't have the Fender audio, and I admit I'd rather have the wider 17" wheels and tires vs. the acceptable 16" wheels and tires on the base model for now unsalable TDI's. The TSI base model came with 15" standard; wouldn't want those.
Now if they would bring a Golf Sportwagen R to the States, that would be interesting.

However, this size difference is apparently enough to matter when squeezing through polymer chains. In a larger opening, it would make no difference. This passage through the rubber is called "permeation" and N2 permeates more slowly than 02.

Sure there is. They put those little green valve stem covers on.

Really? The base car put out 215hp and the supercharged SRT put out 330. What would you do to get beyond that?

I'm glad this topic came up when it did. To help Son #1 sell his T&C, I'm going to tell him about the green valve stem covers trick. To sell that POS he'll need all kinds of help.

2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
The front plate goes smack dab in the center-middle of the front grill.
Now if they would bring a Golf Sportwagen R to the States, that would be interesting.
