Offered this deal, still seems a little high. Think I can get a maintenance package thrown in?

36/12 lease numbers on the 4-cyl tech are 57% and .00056.

Using your MSRP and sale price, I get a payment of $311.12 + tax.

I suspect the net cap cost is higher than the selling price - find out from the dealer what's been added.

From your username, it seems like you might live in my neck of the woods. Don't forget to shop dealers in NY as well as CT as NY dealers cap thei doc fee (by law) at $75 while CT dealers charge a "conveyance fee" of whatever they want (usually anywhere from $199 - $499.

thanks for the suggestion -- Definitely always do When I was in CT, I bought from New Jersey, now I'm in the DC area, and Pohanka is the largest and cheapest I have encountered (but I'll still negotiate ) I compare the prices all inclusive, before TTL

So we're in Cook County, IL (Chicago suburb, 8.25% tax) - looking at a 2015 TLX 4 cyl with tech package - 36 months/15k miles. MSRP $36,420, "negotiated price" (this was offered, there was no negotiating) of $32,008. RV of .55. Money factor of .00056. I thought the RV was maybe a little low (correctly or not) and was told that there is nothing about these lease deals that is negotiable. All the terms are dictated by Acura. It is what it is. He's translating all of this to a price of $486 / month. I'm coming up with $422 / month.

Questions:
- Are any of these negotiable? RV or price?
- Does the standard leasing formula apply (is he sneaking extras in there?)
- And really I want this all for 12k miles, but if I can get these questions answered, I can take it from there

He made some off-hand reference to us paying sales tax on what now appears to be the lease cash, but said it was just a few bucks a month. He said we would pay plates and doc fee up front with first month's payment. He also said they make $175 per leased vehicle - flat fee - and nothing more. Meh, clearly not the case. Thanks.

MF and residual are correct and fixed.
Lease cash is $1500, and probably included in that selling price offer.
12K/yr residuals are 2% higher and will lower the payment by about $20/mo.

Definitely have to add the $595 acq.fee to the CAP cost.

Given all that, I get $379/mo.+tax..

There must be some monster additions that he isn't disclosing. Ask for the NET cap cost that they are basing the lease payment on, and a reconciliation to the selling price. That should disclose the discrepancy.

17.5% sales tax in Chicago! That is almost unbelievable.

17.5% sales tax in Chicago! That is almost unbelievable.

Hello please advise the residual for TLX V6 Advance 36/10, I see a MF of .00026, but the dealer is telling me there is also a .00016 MF if I put 0 down except fees, can someone confirm?

MSRP 43,520 Dealer said they will sell at 37k (applying lease cash 2k and 1k acura loyalty), what should my payment be? (SC 6% tax)

That is correct, there is a discount of .00010 on the MF if you do a $0 due at signing lease.

If you do that, those costs are added into the selling price - what would the new cap cost be? (more than $37K, but how much more?).

Using the .00026 MF and 55% residual with your numbers, I get $379/mo.

I believe SC caps the tax on cars at $300.

You can pay the tags, taxes and doc fee, but I think the acquisition fee has to be rolled in, and the dealership has to make the 1st payment.

Made the deal, thank you to this thread!

Per Acura dealer, because I was getting $1000 loyalty credit, I could not opt for the .00010 MF discount, its one or the other. So the MF for the below is .00026

My deal:

FWD V6 Advance 43,520 MSRP, selling price 36,900

376/mo x 36 10k total out of pocket $900 (Tax 300, 1st payment 376, doc 185, plates 39)

If I add all the taxes and fees into the selling price, I get a payment just pennies different than your quote. If you're comfortable with the selling price, no reason not to pull the trigger.

Try making an email just for car buying (so that you don't get spammed later) and go through the internet department of the dealerships. I'm just starting to negotiate for a lease (never leased before), but for buying, I always asked the price of the car + doc fees + any misc fees other than tax/title/licensing. Then you can compare apples to apples and make the dealerships compete with each other - Plus, I believe that the internet sales people get a flat commission based on number of units sold rather than the profit (At least one Nissan dealership I have a connection does)
