Keep searching .. it only takes one dealer to accommodate you and make a deal. As the end of the month nears, you may encounter one who needs to make that one additional sale to hit a volume bonus.

    Michaell,
Based on the info I have so far, is 49% residual and .00032MF correct for a 15 GC Altitude 4x4?
If so, based on 40,685 MSRP do I get the residual from that or from the negotiated price? My best negotiated price is 36,697 after discounts and lease cash. I assume by that, that is 40685-2500lease cash-1488 dealer discount. If I figure 49% of 40685 I have 19,935 residual. Am I doing this right?
that dealer says the following first payment with tax, tax on down, license, registration, title and fees is 2104.16 and ill have 38 remaining payments of 556(tax included) this is 39/12. I cant make the math work on this no matter how I do it. Local tax is 8.1%

Without giving me the number they work with, ive had other offers of 2k driveoff and 539(tax included)

To me, both of these seem wrong by upwards of $50 a month. But I am absolutely a lease-newb.
I confirm the .00032 and 49% for the Altitude 4x4 for 36 months, 15,000 miles per year. Subtract 2% from the residual for 39 months. Add 2% to the residual for 12,000 miles per year.

Using the $40,685 as the MSRP and $36,697 as the net cap cost, I get a 36/15 pre-tax payment of $484/mo; $523/mo after tax.

Theyve brought me to 36/12 2kdrive off to 510 (tax included) on the Altitude 4x4. I feel its fair, but the low residual is certainly not helping. Its been as high as 53% recently if I remember correctly. I may pass.

Lots of choices out there, some of which may have better lease numbers.

has anything changed on the 4x4 Altitude here at the end of the month?

    its in my post 39/12

I have since just got back another 39/12 quote of $422 all in with 2k drive off. I double checked and he confirmed the payment has tax in it, but I HIGHLY doubt hes correct. Again, this is 2015 Altitude 4x4

Something isn't right .. even if I back out $4500 from the "Balance Due" and using the 39/12 numbers of .00032 and 49%, I get a payment of $435/mo. Close ....

And, remind me what state this is? I don't think the tax is being calculated right.

One last question ... confirm that this is a Chrysler Capital lease ... if it's from another bank, we don't have those lease numbers to confirm.

I am awaiting confirmation of your questions. Meanwhile a couple others have come back with payments in the 460-470 range tax included which to me, makes more sense.

    taxes here are 8.1 - 8.3

So after running mine and my cosigner's credit application, the dealership tells me that the only lender that in fact allows cosigner's on a lease is Chrysler. Which would in turn cost me my $2500 IDL rebate.

Has anyone ever encountered such an
issue in regards to the cosigner?

Okay. Kinda disappointed with the Jeep dealership. They told me there was just $1k conquest and like $1k memorial day rebate. I didn't say that I was going to lease which should be another $2500 rebate (if I read the site here properly). Then they said that the Altitude was the most popular Jeep and gave me $1k off the MSRP. I mean I was almost insulted.

Does anyone have any tips to help get the purchase price down further? Should I say that I know what the invoice price is or anything similar?
Get multiple dealers involved - the competition should help you get the price you want.

    This x1000.

It was a bit more inconvenient, but I did hit 4 Jeep dealers. 3 of them gave me the run around and didn't give me any substantial discount from the MSRP. In fact, the first 1k below offer was the best that I had received. When they gave me the "What can I do to get you in a car today?" line, and I told them my buying price they told me it was impossible without even checking with anyone. So, I walked out. The 4th dealership was considerably further away and I almost didn't go there. I also had a female sales person so I don't know if that made a difference but I was tired of the "dealership experience" and didn't feel like haggling. After she came out with a first offer ($500 off MSRP) I said essentially here is my price if you can't meet it just let me know now. She asked me to wait one second, disappeared for 2 minutes, came back, sat down and beat my price by something like $400 for the same Jeep the other dealership couldn't budge more than $1k on.

I didn't think there would be that kind of variation between dealers, but I asked how she was able to get the price so low. I was told that they were very close to their numbers to qualify for some factory bonus and since I appeared motivated to buy, they were motivated to sell and get one sale closer to the award. So, they were willing to take a small loss (to them, big gain to me) on a single car to get the bigger payout from the factory.

Needless to say, I got my Jeep from there with the numbers laid out in this forum (thanks for that BTW, they didn't try to jack up any numbers or hide any charges, but I felt good having that information to keep them honest) I'm paying $420/month and I got that wheel/tire protection thrown in too for 50% off with $0 down and just the bare minimum in fees.

I also operated on this same principle; plus hard research, knowing what incentives you qualified for, sending out leads to lots of dealers ( I also was willing to fly-one way to where ever and drive back, most dealer will cover your ticket). And timing = be prepare to walk away and/or wait for better counter offers. Read up on prices that people are reporting on here....

I had in fact theorized that if you're offering a doable price for both parties, all it takes is the right time and the dealer will sell. It worked for me!

I spent the month of April with dealers not budging. All the quotes were in the high $600; then came mid-May, $47k msrp, 36/15k, 2015 JGC Overland 4x4, $500/mo. tax included @7%, $0 down, $0 due at signing, and no extra cost-oil changes for life of lease!

And to further, not in a scientific way, of proving my theory, another dealer then offered $480 two days after I signed my contract (only difference is they want 1st month's payment due at signing).

hope this will help other people with their perpsectives on negotiating their lease.

    36/15 numbers:

    Altitude - .00032 and 49%
    Limited - .00055 and 51%

Add 2% for 12K per year.

So far as we can tell, the $0 acquisition fee is national.

You want to negotiate your best price first, then apply any available incentives.

So a dealers sales price online shouldn't have that allowance built into it right?

That's a different question, and one only the dealer can answer. My guess is that the online price does include the lease cash, but contact them to confirm.

Is there a specific reason why a dealer would be using Ally and not Chysler Capital on a lease? Current lease is with CC and when my sales guy called with the initial numbers yesterday he mentioned Ally. Are there better incentives with Ally?

    Any downside?

We don't have the Ally numbers to confirm, for starters. From what I've read here, the Ally numbers are usually higher in MF but have larger lease incentives to offset.

You'd have to run both sets of numbers to see which offers the better deal.

    Hello,

Can I get the MF & RV in CA for the following:

    Altitude 4x2
    Altitude 4x4
    36/12k

I noticed that the MF has gone significantly higher in CA since Jan. When would be the best month to lease you think? Thanks in advance!

Yes, the lease programs through Chrysler Capital definitely are not as good, as they've been earlier this calendar year. However, sometimes that is offset by larger rebates or lease cash. I don't have the incentive information to compare, though.

Picking the best time of year to lease is hard to do. There isn't a lot of historical data to back up any sort of trend spotting.

For my zip code in CA there's now a $2k lease rebate. When I got my lease back in February, the rebate was only $1k.

Thanks for your reply. I got a quote on the following:

    2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude 4 x 2
    36 months lease @ $399 + tax = $ 435 including tax
    12,000 miles per year
    Residual: $ 19,803.44
    Rate Factor: 0.00075%

Drive Off: $1,850 includes 1st month payment, 1st year License/Registration Fees, taxes on the rebates & Lease Acquisition Fee.

Is this a good deal and do you have to pay taxes on the rebates?
