    Hi,
I'm new to this forum and have never leased before so please be gentle :) . I'm looking at a 2015 Limited with the diesel, luxury package and U connect® 8.4AN AM/FM/SXM/HD/BT/ NAV. The sticker is $48,310 and I'm eligible for supplier pricing, 1% below invoice, and was quoted $45,744 before rebates ($3k for leasing) . I've searched online for a better price but after you sort through the deceptive wow pricing I can't seem find a deal worth the hassle of buying non-local, does the price sound right or should I keep looking? Now on to leasing if the price is in the ballpark, I'm thinking of doing 36m/15k. does this make sense or am I better off going with less miles and chance paying for extra miles? I'm only putting about 10k a year on my 1998 Explorer but anticipate driving the GC a lot more than the old Explorer, what's the cost of excess miles? I had my wife called for me when I was at work and she was told the residual is 50% ($24155) and the MF is 4.9%?? Does this residual sound right? I'm not sure what they mean by 4.9% MF especially seeing the jeep website shows an APR of .24%. While I've been searching for a better priced GC I noticed on the Jeep website that there are over 34 thousand 2015 GC's on lots within 1k miles of me with 2015's still in transport to the dealers, do you think the rebates will get better after 1/4/16? Thanks!

Most likely you won't get a better deal than at the end of the year. Residuals for 2015s will most likely drop once the new programs come out on 1/5/2015. They might offer more of a rebate, but you cannot predict the future and don't know what's going to happen.

If you are only putting 10K per year on your old Explorer, why would you anticipate driving an extra 5K miles per year on your new Jeep. If you want to play it safe, go for a 12K per year lease.

If you drive so few miles, why go for the diesel? Gas is cheap now, go with the HEMI V8:)

We were looking at the summit and overland models to lease. At the end of the day there is so much a dealer will discount the vehicle and with poor residual values we decided not to lease a jeep. The lease only makes sense for 3 years at 12K a year to stay in the warranty range. Taking into consideration at least 5 scheduled services and possibly a set of tires this also influenced us.

    .00002 MF and 46% residual for 39/10.

We show the acquisition fee is waived on this model, leasing through Chrysler Capital.

If the sale price is the CAP cost, $393/mo.

If the CAP cost is $2997 less than the sale price, then $316/mo.

So if i read this correctly - I should find out if they are using Chrysler Capital and if so advise them that they are to waive the acquisition fee.

If the sale price is the CAP cost then i am getting a great deal, if the CAP cost is 2997 less than the sale price i should renegotiate?

If so how do i explain this to them.

    thanks again.

All I did was run the calculations. Since your numbers weren't clear, I ran them two ways.

You don't have to explain anything to the dealer. They know the numbers. You have to have them explain the numbers to you.

Based on the numbers it feels like a good deal as long as the cap cost is not less than 2997.

Not sure what new rates are but you should be able to get a bigger discount 5K + or - 1k is doable.
I priced a 38k 4x4 with drive off down , was $416 a month which included tax per month

This deal was posted few days ago
MSRP @ 42k $444 (including all taxes and fees) with $0 down for a 39 month lease term with 15k miles per year

Thinking this is a good deal. Can someone please confirm? Was able to get employee pricing for these lease numbers (3% below invoice).

    2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude 4x4, 36mo/15k
    MSRP: 40,830
Net Cap: $29,472 (not sure how they got this low...)
Due at signing: $1064.67 (first months payment, taxes, etc.)
Rate: Was told 6.7%, so MF is .00279?
Residual: Haven't asked for it yet but my calculations have been factoring 47%.

    Monthly lease price: $388

Looking to lock this up tomorrow. I think they may have lowered the net cap and increased the MF??? but still the pricing seems low. Let me know if you need any more info.

With your numbers, I get ~50% residual to get to $388 (not including tax). Residual might be high to compensate for the large money factor (interest charge of ~$140 per month which equates to $5k over the term). It's all a wash when you're getting 11.5k off a 40k car. Seems like a good deal to me.

I'll guess that the lease is through Ally.

They have higher residuals and really high money factors, but Chrysler gives a big IDL lease bonus for non-Chrysler Capital leases.

    Your payment looks really good.

Is that a 39 month lease? The residuals seem to match that.

I show the MF as .00005, not .00012, but that's a very small difference, and might be a regional thing.

Those numbers don't seem to match the first set of numbers you posted. I wonder if those are two different deals, through two different banks?

I like to know the exact numbers, but I'll re-state: $1000 upfront and $388/mo. is a good deal for a $40K MSRP Jeep.

Not really .. the Jeep numbers are good until Monday, 1/4/16. However, using the MSRP of $39,890, net cap cost of $32,645, MF of .00002 and residual of 46% I get a payment of $368/mo + tax.
For some reason I was under the impression tax was included in the DP.
So we faced off for quite a bit and ended up with the following.

     $399 a month 39 months 10k
$3300 hundred down includes tax, dmv, first month, tire, doc fee, finance fee.
     Using Ally Bank.
     MSRP:40,655.91
     Agreed up value 38,449.44
Rebates and Non Cash Credits 6,750
     CAP Cost Reduction 8,968.50
     Adjusted cap cost 31,687.41
     Residual 21,231.60

    Thoughts?

Hello - Looking at turning in 2014 JGC Limited V6 for either a 2015 JGC Overland 4X4 or SRT. Could you give me the residual and MF for both? Open to 24 or 36 month leases, whichever is the better deal... need 12k miles. Thank you.

Also, do you have the residual and MF for the 2015 High Altitude? Thanks.

    36/12 numbers:
    Overland - .00004 and 48%
    SRT - .00075 and 50%
    High Altitude - .00004 and 48%

Looking for some basic insight here on a 39 month lease. I'm seeing a lot of 2015 JGC's left on the lots and the 2016's will be rolling out any day now. Is it a dumb move to lease a 2015 given the incentives out there which bring the purchase price down, while at the same time having a lower residual (46%) which isn't good. Or do I wait for the 2016's that should have a higher residual but probably less incentives??? Also, what's up with the 39 month lease, I've always done 36 month leases?

I've been offered the following 39m lease with 10k miles a year

    MSRP $50,380
    Purchase Price $45,460 (residual $26,701)
    Total monthly pmt $512

Thanks in advance for any help.

You should be able to get a better discount. On a 2015 I would shoot for around 8k off

If the $512 includes tax, it looks pretty solid.
