The car lists for $23,800. Yes it is a good deal. Buy the car.

Check out College Park Honda in MD. I just purchased an 06 EX-L 4cyl w/ Leather for $22,356 ($23,665 w/ TTL). If you want the sales rep, let me know and I can give you that info off line.

So what's the price did you got? Thanks!
  • mtm917mtm917 Member Posts: 3
I wholeheartedly recommend Herb Chambers of Burlington, MA if you live in the area. I got an O6 VP Accord back in April for 16,700 including the $550 destination fee and docking fee. The service was great-I negotiated the price over the phone and mentioned the competitive television adds from Ernie Boch Jr.

Hi robbert - if you're asking for price on the LX SE, please see message #11749.

    Hi everyone,

This is my first forum ever on edmunds. I have been doing some shopping for a Honda accord SE and EX-L for a week. In GA, the current APR rates are high for 48 months like around 6%. I noticed that the internet sales reps will ALWAYS give the lowest cost. When I asked several dealers for prices on both trims (depending on which I felt was good deal because I wanted leather and sunroof)they will give a good deal or at least descent. I got a Honda Accord SE for 18,700 with ALL FEES except TAX. I would wait until interest goes down, but it seems like the trend on all hondas are only to go up. By the way, can some one in GA or any where else tell me if my deal was good for a Honda Accord SE without tax?

    techguy06,

    Thanks for the reply.

So how do you like the car so far? Does it give good mpg? Did the internet salesperson that sent the price quote also handled the sales? Thanks.

My husband and I just purchased a new 2006 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr sedan, AT, including mudguards, pinstripe, sunroof visor, wheel locks and protection package for a selling price of $21,871.85 from Honda of Concord, NC. We thought they gave us a good deal, so we didn't negotiate down the doc fee, and our out-the door price was $23,000. I highly recommend this dealership...very courteous and not pushy. It was well worth the trip from Durham!

    Hey,
new to this forum. This is my first time buying a new car and I have narrowed my choice to an EX-L AT...not sure about navigation system, I would like it only if i get a good deal.

I am going be purchasing in the seattle area, what are the best OTD prices I can expect. Let me know in general what is a good price to start negotiating from. Also will appreciate general advice.

    Hello,

I too just purchased a 2006 Accord SE auto about a month ago. The car is good. For my first tank of gas, I averaged over 30 MPG with about 75% freeway and 25% city. My 2004 Accord LX 4 auto never got better than 28 MPG. So far so good.

For my pricing - I posted what I paid and where I bougt previously. Basically inline with others in the SF Bay Area. Just check the posts after 6/8.

    Take Care.

    Hi,
I am shopping for a 2006 Accord EXL 4 CYL AT w/Leather trim and moonroof. A dealer in the Chicago area quoted me $23,800 as the final price, including everything. Is this a reasonable price? If I need to negotiate how much can I bargain for?
    Thanks!
  • ajdbajdb Member Posts: 8
After working the 6 or so dealerships in the area for a day, I ended up going with Ken Garff Honda in Orem at $19500 (including destination). This does not include TTL.

I had a quote from Costa Mesa Honda in LA for 19063, but California forces you to pay their taxes, so this did not make sense to do.

Good luck to all in your negotiations!

    Hi,
Did you have cloth interior or leather interior? If its leather, looks like a good price.
    Thanks!
  • mmolemmole Member Posts: 1
We just bought a 2006 Accord EX-L 4dr AT with Navigation in Carbon Bronze Pearl with black leather interior in the MD area. The color of exterior with the black interior is just amazing. We initially requested price quotes from various dealers in MD and VA. Herson's Honda in Rockville, MD quoted us the lowest price which was slightly above invoice minus the incentives, so that's where we went. We were able to get the car for invoice $24803 (with dest) minus the $750 incentive for $24053. Add the $100 processing, $1207 tax, $215 tags, and $890 for a 7yr extended warranty (negotitated this price based on Bernandi's website), the total came out to $26465 OTD. The internet sales rep at Hersons was a pleasure to deal with. You can email me for his contact info. We were initially looking to get a Civic EX, possible with navigation, but with the Accord going for invoice now with the additional incentives, this was too good to pass up on. So far we love the car and the 4 cyl has enough power for the road. The info on this forum was very helpful, so thanks to all. :)
  • platypus2platypus2 Member Posts: 2
It was leather interior, so I felt that the price was good as well. I received lots of quotes over the internet and it was by far the best quote in NC.
  • cohenfivecohenfive Member Posts: 85
just got an email from livermore honda, offering me a new exl automatic (anything they had in stock) for $21,385 delivered. that's the best i've seen, and is without any negotiations. that was end of the month, but my guess is that the incentives will still be there this month...

    Hi,
I am seeking the advice of all the wise out there... Does the quote for 2006 Accord EXL 4 CYL AT w/Leather trim and moonroof in Chicago area as $23,800 OTD sound reasonable?
    Thanks in advance!
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
OTD includes tax title and license and varies by state and makes these discusion less informative. Ignore that since that's not negociable. On Accords, ignore MSRP and figure invoice minus the dealer incentive and try to get there or just below that. So if the car's invoice is right at 23,000+ -like the car you want including transportation- and a sedan, you should be able to get it for 22,250 or less with the sedan's $750 dealer incentive.
  • newcar22newcar22 Member Posts: 3
Is this true? Includes TTL? I think that's a great price! I'm looking for this exact car and just sent out my emails for quotes. Is there a way you could forward me the quote?
  • cuckoocuckoo Member Posts: 5
    Hi,
Thanks for responding to my post. The split up is as follows:
    Sale Price: $22160 (includes transportation)
    Document Fee: $57.33
    Tax: 1499.67
    Plates/Title: $143.00
The total comes to $23, 860. Hopefully this will give you a better idea.
    thanks!

Does the Honda manufacturer still give back Honda dealers a $750 incentive after 7/5/06? I was hoping to use it in addition with holdback in negotiating for a lower price. If I can't use the incentive, does anybody know if Honda has a factory to dealer cash back or something similar for every Honda (Accord) sold? :confuse:
  • vhreb123vhreb123 Member Posts: 83
Is it possible to get a 06 Accord Value Package or LX for under a TOTAL of $20,000, maybe even in low $19,000 or upper $18,000(which includes all fees, tax, and title)?
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
Sems to be 8-900 under invoice. I think invoice is around 23,100 including transportation for that Accord. There may be about 5-700 in holdback left (3% of retail) but that's a good deal. I might make a final offer for a few hundred less and say you'll buy at that price. But it seems like you are near the bottom.

I just took delivery of an 06 San Marino Red Coupe. Initially I was looking for a Civic EX but once I realized that nobody wanted to deal on the car, I'd figured to pay the extra money to get the Accord. I must say that I'm not disappointed. I dealt with Superior Honda in Uniontown, PA. The internet sales person there quoted me $23,500 including destination. I called around to a few dealers and none of them could even match the price. This was for a EX V6 6 Speed Coupe....no extras at all and no trade in.

I was very satisfied with the buying experience. They had to get the car from Ohio and it took a good two weeks of calling around to various dealers until one was found to do a trade. Once the car arrived, it was basically sign and drive.

    $23,500 vehicle including dest.
    $1,645 tax
    $300 tags and registration
    $25,445 total

I think I did pretty good on the car. A few years back I was going to buy an 04 V6 6MT but decided against it. I was living in North Carolina at the time but the dealer there told me he could get it to me for 23k. So I pretty much used that figure to work off of. After I checked the invoice price on the car, I came to the conclusion that 23,500 was a fair price. I did try for lower but they said they couldn't do any better.

I have OTD quotes for 4 cyl EX's from three dealers - two at 21,400 and one at 21,800. Anybody getting better quotes in the South Cal/San Diego/OC area?
  • fullback100fullback100 Member Posts: 18
That's really good prices for 4 cyl EXs at $21,400 OTD. I am too in OC county in Cal. My best quote for EX was $20,500+TTL of which OTD would come out to $22,500. Two of your quotes are $1,100 cheaper than mine. That's like $2,000 below invoice price($21,478) for 4 cyl EX! Wow! Do you mind sharing the dealerships' names? Maybe we can go buy together and ask for more discounts with group buying! ;)
  • cuckoocuckoo Member Posts: 5
    Hi,
Thats good to hear... I think I might be able to get it for $23,000 OTD. In that case, I will assume it is a good deal. Does the dealers still get the $750 dealer incentive? If so, can I bank on that to get it reduced further?
    thanks!

Does anyone know if Honda has any type of owner loyalty incentives (cash off) for previous Honda owners? Also, do they have a college graduate discount?
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
Did you have an Acura CL previously. Your name looks familiar from another board? BTW, I was very impressed with my drive in the 6 speed Accord. Seems as good an Acura w/o a few luxury features that are on my CL but for the price that Accord 6 speed is one great deal. I can live w/o memory seats and the auto moving font seats for 7 grand. The only thing that really bothered me was the rather drab back seat. Too much cheap looking plastic on the sides.

Does anyone know what interest rates are currently being offered by Honda? What should someone with a 782 FICO store be expecting?

    Thanks everyone in advance
  • hondalover6hondalover6 Member Posts: 1
I was told the $750 dealer cash was only good on the purchase and not the lease, and only good through the 5th. I'm about to make a deal for a lease on an Accord EX, 4 cyl for $21,380 cap cost, $1,500 total down and $259/month for 24 months. Does that seem like a reasonable deal?
  • cohenfivecohenfive Member Posts: 85
if i could get your email addy i could forward it to you, but i don't see it. by the way, when i looked more seriously at accords there were several dealers in the bay area below $22k delivered for a new exl automatic. winter honda was another..just do some digging, the pricing is there as long as the incentives are there. between high gas prices and the new camry i think the accord is not moving this year.
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
high gas prices and the new camry i think the accord is not moving this year.

Funny thing, as I can't stand the styling of the new Camry, and the high-gas prices makes me even happier that I got 38 MPG on my last beach trip in my new 2006 Accord EX. I think gas prices will send people looking at Honda and Toyota alike; Camry vs. Accord is personal preference however. A lot of people like the new Camry's styling...more power to them. I like the great deal I got on my 2006 Accord, and also love that I've never had a tank of gas below 27 MPG (most are around 30 MPG with mixed suburban driving with occasional stints to the high 30s and one 40 MPG tank on trips).

I'm 6'4", and the Accord was the best mileage/power/size compromise I could find. Seriously, could you see 6'4" driving comfortably for 5 hours in a Fit or Yaris? I can't even drive my girlfriend's Corolla comfortably, so a big fuel efficient car was perfect for me.

I too am in San Diego looking for same car. Can you also provide me the names of the dealers and the contact person. Thanks for doing the homework.
  • tinatinatinatina Member Posts: 388
Did you see how much the big 3 sales declined in june - from 7% to over 30%. Sorry, I don't have the esact numbers. That 38 mpg is pretty good though. Your car is an auto, right? I got 30 mpg im about 70% freeway use on my first tank - a definite improvement for me compared to my 2004, which got 28mpg. I know nothing changed in terms of fuel economy between the 2004s and 2006s.

Ugh, a Corolla? My knees practically locked up sitting in the back of a Lexus IS. Nice car, but too small in the rear for me.

Well, after doing much reading on the site i finally made my puchase today. Prob. didnt break any closing speed records (was there 5 hours w/ preg. wife). We decided on the V6 when they agreed to 4000 off MSRP, and they came close to what we wanted on trade in.
Graphite Pearl with Grey Leather Int.
    Wheel Locks
Mud Guards Tried to charge me 189 for these and i had to have them waive that.
    MSPR: 27300
    Sale: -4000
    Dest. and Handeling: 550
    Processing(BS): 189
    Total: 24039 Went for 24050
Trade in was 2200, title fee is 10 so 21860 final price.

Yes, my car is an automatic. I didn't even try to sit in the IS250 at the auto show. I couldn't even fit too well in the TSX backseat without the front seat being pulled forward a decent amount. I'm all legs though, as my torso isn't very tall. I guess that's a good thing sometimes, since my head doesn't even brush the roof in my car with a moonroof!

The mileage listed by the EPA did not change, as you say correctly. Maybe the electronic-throttle makes things slightly more efficient than the traditional throttle? I dunno. I know I like my car, quite simply put.
  • biyidsbiyids Member Posts: 3
From Memphis, TN: I was offered an Accord EX Cloth for 21,200 (excluding TTL). The dealership agreed to throw in moonroof visor and mudguard. Is this a great deal? Compared with (1) 2007 Camry LE, 4 cylinder which I was offered for $20,000 (excluding TTL)with no additional options, and (2) 2006 Avalon EXL cloth for $24,900. I am undecided, any suggestion?
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
Considering I've seen a price for an LX-V6 for $21,000 on here, I'd think you could get a better price if you keep searching.
  • lam2raylam2ray Member Posts: 8
Just bought EX 4cylinder cloth no options added except for wheel locks in Maryland this evening for $21,500.I don't think the moonroof visor is worth that much. I think you could do better.
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
I'm hoping that you (lam2ray) meant that $21,500 was an OTD price.
  • lam2raylam2ray Member Posts: 8
OH YES! Sorry for not making myself clearer. $21,500 OTD from Criswell Honda in Germantown, MD. Could have done away with the 100 bucks wheel locks though.
  • acurazruleacurazrule Member Posts: 7
Actually I didn't have a CL. I do own a 93 Vigor which has 215,000 miles on it. A few years back when the 2nd gen CLs came out, I was thinking one of those would be my first new car. But looking back now, I'm actually more happy with the 06 Accord 6MT. The car is essentially the same as the CL minus the limited slip (which some have said can actually be used in the 6MT Accord), a couple HP, some luxury items, and 7 grand price tag. While the CL is nice, it is a heavy and large vehicle so I'd assume that even with the type-s package, the Accord probably feels more agile than a CL. I've never driven one though so I can't really say for sure.

In 2004 when I was looking at buying the Accord 6MT, I was debating it vs an Acura TSX. In many ways I liked and still do like the TSX, but I couldn't justify spending more money for two less cylinders, 40 less hp, and premium fuel requirement. My thoughts are still the same now. Sure there are some features in the Acura line that I would like to have, namely HID lights, bluetooth integration, etc, but for the most part the Accord has what I want at a price that is tough to beat. And I don't really have a problem with that. I think now more than ever, it's becoming more and more difficult to justify buying a luxury marque when the standard models have near luxury features. Acura has to have model specific features to differientiate itself from the Honda line, but unfortunately I'm not going to shell out an additional 5-7k for premium features. If price wasn't a factor, of course I would be willing to purchase an Acura TL or TSX, but me like most people a couple grand more isn't a drop in the bucket.

I think the Accord V6 6MT is one of the best deals going. I thought that a few years back when the 6MT model first came out. Sure its not a RWD sports car but to be able to get a solid V6 with great features and the Honda name for 23,500, to me it seemed like a no brainer.

Got a quote from 3 different dealerships in Norcal, ranging between $22939-$23200 +TTL. I ended up purchasing for $23200 + TTL simply because the dealership I chose had the color I wanted right then and there, and didn't try to dance with me with unncessary doc fees/security fees/bal bla

    MSRP - $26950
    Invoice - $24,253
    $750 cash back fac rebate
True Invoice price not counting dealer holdback- $23503

Any thoughts if I paid a fair price?
  • louisnlouisn Member Posts: 110
Not bad but----Seems most are getting at least 750 under invoice which would put that car under 21000. Try calling the 3 dealerships in Memphis. They are dealing. You might get into their holdback if you play it right.

Here are the prices that I'm getting from SF bay area dealers for the Accord Sedan EXL AT:
Price w/dest. Out the door price w/ 8.25 tax
    Salinas: $21841 $23934
    Gilroy: $22390 $24502
    Anderson:$21951 $24046

Just realized....is your quote for a coupe or a sedan?
  • royalbluebirdroyalbluebird Member Posts: 7
Sounds like a great price. That is about $1000 less than invoice and has been the quote I have seen for Nocal ($1000-1500 less than invoice). I didn't get quite so lucky here in Hampton Roads, VA...got my 06 Accord EX-L AT w/ Nav for $23800. (And that was with lots of calls and emails and getting dealerships to give me better deals.) Still, I got the color I wanted and I LOVE my new accord!
