:confuse:
This is my first forum ever on edmunds. I have been doing some shopping for a Honda accord SE and EX-L for a week. In GA, the current APR rates are high for 48 months like around 6%. I noticed that the internet sales reps will ALWAYS give the lowest cost. When I asked several dealers for prices on both trims (depending on which I felt was good deal because I wanted leather and sunroof)they will give a good deal or at least descent. I got a Honda Accord SE for 18,700 with ALL FEES except TAX. I would wait until interest goes down, but it seems like the trend on all hondas are only to go up. By the way, can some one in GA or any where else tell me if my deal was good for a Honda Accord SE without tax?
Thanks for the reply.
new to this forum. This is my first time buying a new car and I have narrowed my choice to an EX-L AT...not sure about navigation system, I would like it only if i get a good deal.
I am going be purchasing in the seattle area, what are the best OTD prices I can expect. Let me know in general what is a good price to start negotiating from. Also will appreciate general advice.
I too just purchased a 2006 Accord SE auto about a month ago. The car is good. For my first tank of gas, I averaged over 30 MPG with about 75% freeway and 25% city. My 2004 Accord LX 4 auto never got better than 28 MPG. So far so good.
For my pricing - I posted what I paid and where I bougt previously. Basically inline with others in the SF Bay Area. Just check the posts after 6/8.
Take Care.
I am shopping for a 2006 Accord EXL 4 CYL AT w/Leather trim and moonroof. A dealer in the Chicago area quoted me $23,800 as the final price, including everything. Is this a reasonable price? If I need to negotiate how much can I bargain for?
Thanks!
I had a quote from Costa Mesa Honda in LA for 19063, but California forces you to pay their taxes, so this did not make sense to do.
Good luck to all in your negotiations!
Did you have cloth interior or leather interior? If its leather, looks like a good price.
Thanks!
I am seeking the advice of all the wise out there... Does the quote for 2006 Accord EXL 4 CYL AT w/Leather trim and moonroof in Chicago area as $23,800 OTD sound reasonable?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks for responding to my post. The split up is as follows:
Sale Price: $22160 (includes transportation)
Document Fee: $57.33
Tax: 1499.67
Plates/Title: $143.00
The total comes to $23, 860. Hopefully this will give you a better idea.
thanks!
I was very satisfied with the buying experience. They had to get the car from Ohio and it took a good two weeks of calling around to various dealers until one was found to do a trade. Once the car arrived, it was basically sign and drive.
$23,500 vehicle including dest.
$1,645 tax
$300 tags and registration
$25,445 total
I think I did pretty good on the car. A few years back I was going to buy an 04 V6 6MT but decided against it. I was living in North Carolina at the time but the dealer there told me he could get it to me for 23k. So I pretty much used that figure to work off of. After I checked the invoice price on the car, I came to the conclusion that 23,500 was a fair price. I did try for lower but they said they couldn't do any better.
Thats good to hear... I think I might be able to get it for $23,000 OTD. In that case, I will assume it is a good deal. Does the dealers still get the $750 dealer incentive? If so, can I bank on that to get it reduced further?
thanks!
Thanks everyone in advance
Funny thing, as I can't stand the styling of the new Camry, and the high-gas prices makes me even happier that I got 38 MPG on my last beach trip in my new 2006 Accord EX. I think gas prices will send people looking at Honda and Toyota alike; Camry vs. Accord is personal preference however. A lot of people like the new Camry's styling...more power to them. I like the great deal I got on my 2006 Accord, and also love that I've never had a tank of gas below 27 MPG (most are around 30 MPG with mixed suburban driving with occasional stints to the high 30s and one 40 MPG tank on trips).
I'm 6'4", and the Accord was the best mileage/power/size compromise I could find. Seriously, could you see 6'4" driving comfortably for 5 hours in a Fit or Yaris? I can't even drive my girlfriend's Corolla comfortably, so a big fuel efficient car was perfect for me.
Ugh, a Corolla? My knees practically locked up sitting in the back of a Lexus IS. Nice car, but too small in the rear for me.
Graphite Pearl with Grey Leather Int.
Wheel Locks
Mud Guards Tried to charge me 189 for these and i had to have them waive that.
MSPR: 27300

The mileage listed by the EPA did not change, as you say correctly. Maybe the electronic-throttle makes things slightly more efficient than the traditional throttle? I dunno. I know I like my car, quite simply put.
In 2004 when I was looking at buying the Accord 6MT, I was debating it vs an Acura TSX. In many ways I liked and still do like the TSX, but I couldn't justify spending more money for two less cylinders, 40 less hp, and premium fuel requirement. My thoughts are still the same now. Sure there are some features in the Acura line that I would like to have, namely HID lights, bluetooth integration, etc, but for the most part the Accord has what I want at a price that is tough to beat. And I don't really have a problem with that. I think now more than ever, it's becoming more and more difficult to justify buying a luxury marque when the standard models have near luxury features. Acura has to have model specific features to differientiate itself from the Honda line, but unfortunately I'm not going to shell out an additional 5-7k for premium features. If price wasn't a factor, of course I would be willing to purchase an Acura TL or TSX, but me like most people a couple grand more isn't a drop in the bucket.
I think the Accord V6 6MT is one of the best deals going. I thought that a few years back when the 6MT model first came out. Sure its not a RWD sports car but to be able to get a solid V6 with great features and the Honda name for 23,500, to me it seemed like a no brainer.
MSRP - $26950
Invoice - $24,253
$750 cash back fac rebate
True Invoice price not counting dealer holdback- $23503
Any thoughts if I paid a fair price?
Price w/dest. Out the door price w/ 8.25 tax
Salinas: $21841 $23934
Gilroy: $22390 $24502
Anderson:$21951 $24046
Just realized....is your quote for a coupe or a sedan?
