I bought Camry LE 07 for 21987 OTD(Hartford ,CT) with moonroof and mats.
But I traded in my car which fetch me around the price of moonroof around $900.

Does anyone know what "Molded Dash Applique" is

Plastic fake wood, fake aluminum or fake carbon fibre trim is normal. Probably on the TCH it's the fake wood like on the Avalon.

Hi - somebody responded from the toyota of plano dealership to my msg but since then that msg seems to have been deleted. Can I ask the person to respond to me again? Thanks.

I saw this option on one XLE V6. Fake wood was what I thought at the beginning. The catalog says XLE already comes with wood deco. I asked a sales person, he said he didn't know. Maybe some kind of dash protection thing??

07 Cammry LE, OTD $22,500,no options, is this a good deal for Michigan?
Also, 06 sonata limited V6, OTD 21,500,
can not decide which one I should get!!
• wvgasguywvgasguy Member Posts: 1,405
Also, 06 sonata limited V6, OTD 21,500,

I just heard on the radio a few minutes ago in WV the rebate on a Sonata is as high as $3900. Don't know how old your price is but I'd make sure I knew what the current rebates were
• agnostoagnosto Member Posts: 207
For me no matter the price of sonata/patata is, I would still go with a beauty 2007 Camry... btw, just bought a loaded 2007 TCH (Hybrid) $32,500 OTD and I could not be happier and my FE at 43.5MPG keeps getting better...
• wvgasguywvgasguy Member Posts: 1,405
I would still go with a beauty 2007 Camry

Well that's what I did as well but the Sonata is an option for some.

My TCH MSRP of $30,589 less $2600Fed Tax Credits and less $3750 State Tax Credits = <$24,000! (after credits)

Im here in IRvine California, bought my Le camry 4 cyl at Power irvine, Terrible experience, all my paper got screwed up and they gave me head ache, 8:00 Pm we finished about 9:30Pm it was late got it for invoice 19533, just to learn over the week end that my bumper is off by 8 mm on the left headlight...upto now im waiting for reply from the dealer i had the car for one week now... If you want complete detail of my sales person and all of the managers that i have talked...let me know. hope you will find a great dealer.
• wvgasguywvgasguy Member Posts: 1,405
It appears that many of you have had lousy experiences at your dealership. Just be glad you now have a Toyota and you won't have to go through it again for several years!

I was fortunate with my last 8 Toyotas as the dealer in St Albans, WV (they changed sales policies a few years back) and now the one I deal with Buckhannon Auto Mall have been great to work with. Working with them I was able to get my TCH EARLY (May5th) in time for the WV state tax credit. They also had it in my hands within a few hours of the truck dropping it off at the dealership and offer a "Free Tires For Life" program.
• tanmichealtanmicheal Member Posts: 10
yup, as i feared they wont change my car, but all they will do is just bring it over a body shop and align my bumpers, How I wish I just bought the HONDA, I never had this problem with Honda.... Do you guys know what do I have to ask for all of this pain and sufferings???

just another heads up on my situation for those who custom ordered a camry...i ordered a camry aug 14th and it came in oct 9th. Went to the dealership to pick up the car, and noticed scratches all over the car, not to the paint, but in the clearcoat. Apparently when they were waxing and buffing the car for delivery, something got on their mitt or glove and scratched up the finish. I was told they could fix this, and agreed to come back the next day. Upon going back, the scratches were less visible, but still there, along with a new series of scratches by the grill. With these issues, didn't buy the car, as I wanted one without these scratches. After thinking for a day, went back and re-ordered another camry, same specs. Told around 2 months wait, perhaps less, so we will see what happens.

Toyota came through with my order, if only the dealership didn't mess up the paint finish while preparing it for delivery. Worse for them, and I have to wait another few months, but I want a quality product when I'm buying anything, much less a car.
• kiiwiikiiwii Member Posts: 318
Good decision to wait. The scratch isn't really gone. They used fine wax to hide the scratch. The scratch will appear much worse after a couple of car washes.

Let the board know which dealer you were dealing with, so we can avoid picking up that scratched car.

If your not worried of selling your car in four years or five, go for the best value for your money a Sonata, but if your like me who wants to have peace of mind... I go with Toyota... Good luck...btw my 05 Tucson was 20,000 OTD last Aug, sold it this year August for just 11,000... thats alot of depreciation..and the hyundais customer service is no good at all... happy car buying...

• sammya_mdsammya_md Member Posts: 69
this car was a custom order, black SE 5spd..only option I got on it was a rear lip spoiler...i'm confident in saying it's the only one like that on dealers lots in america (as the manager of the dealership searched all other dealerships and couldn't find a similar car a couple of days ago)

Went to Pappas in St. Louis on Saturday 10/14/06 and picked up Silver 2007 Camry XLE V6 they secured from a nearby dealer after I ordered the car a few days earlier. I used a Fitz Mall quote and they matched it. MSRP was about $30,202 for car with heated seats, vehicle stability control, smart key, carpet mats, rear bumper applique and destination charges. I paid $27,279 with all doc. fees plus tax, title and license which I am securing on my end as I live in Illinois. They also included a 30 day MO. registration tag. I made deal after a series of e-mails and two phone calls. Made only one trip to the dealer and spent less than an hour. Very good people who live up to their word. A few other St. Louis dealers nibbled around at making a deal, but didn't come within $500 of it.Jay Wolfe Toyota promised to match any "bona fide" offers from local dealers, but when I sent them a copy of the Pappas Buyer's Order before I sent it in, Wolfe wanted it signed by Pappas management first. Told them when Pappas and I signed and I placed deposit it would be a binding contract so I told them to get lost. Worth a drive of 125 miles to me to deal with a dealer who plays fair and honestly with people. Pappas would be my starting and ending point for people who live within a few hundred miles of St. Louis after first securing a quote from Fitz Mall on same car.

This week I'm getting a v6 XLE sky blue pearl - nearly identical to yours, minus carpet mats, and rear bumper applique, but I did add NAV and side door moldings.

My cost $29.4k - this dealer was willing to match the 'employee' pricing offered by another dealer. However I had to order the car based on my preferred configuration.

I'll order the mats somewhere on-line (and hopefully save money) and I will also probably change out the OEM tires Turanza EL-400-02 to something quieter and better.

I'm looking for a 2007 Camry LE V6 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Can anyone share about your recent purchases? Price paid, options, dealers, etc.? Thanks!
• quixadoquixado Member Posts: 5
Was the $29.4k cost OTD or negotiated price minus TTL?

I'm spec'ing out a V6 XLE myself and was wondering:

- Does anyone have guidance on if buying your own carpet mats is typically better?

- Also, can remote start functionality be added to the same smartkey aftermarket (I believe it's a key combination to activate) for less or should I have it included as an option (MSRP $595)

Thanks.
• silverstarsilverstar Member Posts: 56
First, while I know what OTD means but I don't know what TTL means. I suspect that $29.4 was price of car and they'll try to tack on other processing fees - that might tick me off.

I went without the mats beacuse I was initially going to put in 'cheap' replacable carpet remmanants - but then I realized how tacky that might look after spending 30grand and putting a $2 mat in it - but it was too late by then. However, I still think I can do better on-line and get OEM Camry carpets. Meanwhile I'll use cheap throw mats from (add your favorite)-Mart.

I have looked at the Toyota-provided door side moldings on another '07 Camry. It looked unimpressive both in size and install. I could see uneven gaps between it and the door side panels all along the length of the two doors. It was a tacky paste-on type. Now I am sorry I asked for this $200 add-on. There is no way it will save my door from parking lot dings. It was mostly for looks anyway and to differentiate 'my' car from the others in town - but I was not impressed by what I saw.

For the money, I would rather have got the spoiler lip on the trunk.

Lastly, I have no clue about after-market upgrades to the smartkey system.

Tomorrow Tomorrow.....

TTL = taxes, tags and license.

I want to repeat my buying tip which should work for most people: Pick out your car with all the options desired by using Edmunds.com, select New Cars/Prices, Reviews etc. and find invoice price on your car with desired options.Be sure to have a couple of alternate choices on the options you want , but ultimately come up with your preferred car(mine was a XLE V6 with heated seats(HD), smart key(SK), carpet mats(CF1), vehicle stability control(VS). Match up your car or cars on edmunds with a column showing MSRP prices and invoice costs along side for the base car price and all options. Include Destination charge which figure is the same for MSRP and Invoice.
Go to a dealer (after closing) and find a car that matches up MSRP wise and now you'll know what the actual invoice figure is for the car with options. Note that the sticker will show the destination charge and list all options at the same figures Edmunds told you were MSRP prices. Next, go to Fitzmall.com and find a car that matches up to the one you want. You'll find the MSRP prices match up with what you've have already found in your Edmunds and carlot research. Look at Fitzmall "delivered internet" price which is the price they will sell you the car before tax, title, and licensing. They only add a small documentary fee of $55(PA.) or $99(MD), but they will waive that fee if you live out of state and you will handle your own T.T.L.. So now you have a car that for example has a MSRP price of $32,233, Invoice Price of $28,869 and Delivered Internet Price of $28,969( see stock#T524807, a Black XLE V6 listed today).Caution: sometimes the invoice price recited by Fitz won't match up with Edmunds, but they broke it down for me and I found they were factoring in Dealer Holdback amounts. Bottom line is you will have a for example $30,000 MSRP car that you can buy from them for about $27,200. You won't get a better quote from any dealer to begin with.
I then found I would have to pay $99 to fly out to Baltimore and drive car back( the $99 doc. fee would be waived and Fitz would give me 30 day temp. tgs) or they would put me in touch with some auto transport companies who would haul it to me for about $600-700.
I then took my Fitz price and shopped it with big dealers assuming they would argue I would have to pay extra to actually get the Fitz car here and that I should be willing to pay several hundred dollars more locally. Surprise! A couple of local dealers immediately said they would work with me and as I pitted them against each other and Fitz I finally got one that exactly matched the Fitz price including doc. fees. So I got my desired car at desired price and without extra airfare or freight fees.

what do you mean? I should have sold it for a better price?

I have recieved a couple dealer quotes for a basically fully loaded v6 w/nav and wondering if this sounds decent. It would have VSC, heated seats, smart key and floor mats in addition to the NAV. One is for 28,632 + ttl and the other 28,900. I put money down at both dealers over 2 months ago ( although neither has actually debited my visa ). I just got word from one that they have one in their next allotment but they don't have the details (color, dates, etc).

How do these deals sound in general? Being the car is so hard to come by I'm not sure that I can do much better and it's impossible to try some of the tactics suggested here as virtually no dealer has the car on it's lot. It's still pretty much an order and wait proposition.

Also, does anyone with nav know if there is any kind of monthly fee for the service??

Thanks !!

I just came back from a trip to Crystal Auto Mall at Bound Brook, NJ. The internet sales quoted me $200 over the invoice plus $285 doc fee over phone for a LE, which makes the deal $485 over invoice. After 2 hrs, the on-site sales presented me the final paperwork including an extra $340 TDA (~1,7% if invoice), namely Toyota Dealer Advertising Fee. Failing to resolve this, I walked out. Let me see whether I can find a dealer willing to absorb this TDA.

Question: does "$ over invoice" include any doc fee in this forum?
• 07xle07xle Member Posts: 177
Dealer invoice does include TDA. Sorry!!!

You shouldn't have to pay that doc fee though.

See Fitzmall for vehicles/prices. They sell for $300 over dealer invoice with NO doc. fee!!!

You can find your car on-line.

Hi All, I used this forum to help me determine a fair price for a 2007 Camry SE, and I thought I would let people know what I paid.

BASE Camry SE, with sunroof and spoiler, Black Ext., Dark Charcoal Int., automatic, 4 Cyl. (special order only) It will take 3 months to get this car to the dealer.

Invoice: $21,100
Price of Vehicle: $21,700
Tire Tax: $5
Sales Tax: $1134
Title: $64.50
Doc Fee: $55
OLRS Fee: $14
OLDF Fee: $15
Total Price: 22987.50

I had a trade in and got the Kelly Blue book trade in value.

I also looked at and considered buying a 2007 Mazda 3, and a 2006 Acura TSX.

I purchased this vehicle at Thompson Toyota in Doylestown, PA.

I paid $29460+$220TTL for my new 07 Camry xle v6 last week. I also paid $1695 for an extention to the basic warranty up to 7 years 75k miles B-to-B coverage. $100 deductable per incident. Dealer had advised it was prudent considering all the 'electronics' on board.

a) reasonable amount?
b) worth it for a reliable Toyota products?
c) better value from independent warranty providers?

I have 30 days to cancel outright and after that they will refund a prorated amount when/if I cancel.
• mnman69mnman69 Member Posts: 19
You got reamed on the warranty.Do a search and you'll find some info on getting 7 year,75000 no deductible for less than $700.That is from Toyota.

I am on a market for Camry V6 LE. I did exactly like people recommended: send an emails, asking for the Internet price,….. The best 2 offers I got were $22,800 and $20,800. It was fishy that for $20,800 they got both of the colors I wanted in the lot. So, I went there yesterday. Guess what- I was boldly told in my face: ”we are paid to lie to you and to get you in the door”. I derived 2 hours after work to get to that dealership. I was so upset (to say at least). Of cause they have told me that they can get a car I want in 6-8 weeks. Price is very tempting but, to be honest, after I have stressed out to them that I am ready to buy if they have what I want and explained to them that I would have to have a long drive to their dealership and would appreciate the truth… I do need a car but really do not feel like overpaying for it.
I did emailed other dealerships saying that I have $20,800 offer and can they bit it, but no one have even responded to it.
I know that car is kind of “hot” but come on, this kills all excitement on buying a new car.

Question: am I doing something wrong?
• ltd1ltd1 Member Posts: 13
Be patient! The dealer wants you to believe you have to act immediately, but time is on your side. Get that dealer to e-mail you a Buyer's Order with the $20,800 price on it and reciting all options, destination charges and doc. fees. etc. Be sure you are getting what you want for the price you want before you leave your driveway. Were you going to buy the car the day you drove two hours or were you just looking? If you were going there with a check nin hand you should have had a completed Buyer's Order with VIN# and all pricing info. clearly shown. If just going to look, find a Toyota dealer close by to test drive and get your questions answered etc. and wait for one of the dealers you have sent feelers to to come around to your price. Finally, suggest you expand out farther or in a different direction to other Toyota dealers until you find one who will deal. By the way, you should at some point post the name of the dealer who lied to you so others know to avoid them or at least not trust them.

Bad News: you did get reamed. Unfortunately I agree with mnman69. See message #3018 - this person did a ton of legwork that benefits us all. I called Midwest Toyota 2 days ago, got a quote on a Toyota Platinum Warranty for $535 for a 7/75 warranty ($50 deductible).

Gosh it's unbelievable how some dealers attempt to gouge people. What a ripoff.

Good news: you can call and cancel the one you purchased!
