According to his MSRP of 43330, His invoice is 38815 (TMV) His true dealer cost without taking the low APR is 36315. His price of 35600 doesnt fly. Its BS unless.... like I said a wreck or damaged. Then again maybe a Demo but not new.

This will be my last post on this topic since I am pretty sure that no matter what I say you will not believe...

There are other factors involved in new car purchases that go beyond invoice and published incentives. Dealers get other incentives that are not known to the public through sites like Edmunds. The car I bought yesterday had just been delivered and had not even been prepped. It still had all the plastic on it when I showed up in the morning yesterday, so I doubt it had been in an accident. Only 42 miles when I picked it up. The car came from their Boston lot which is about 32 miles away and all new cars come with 8-12 miles on them.

As for your MA economy comment, I don't think it is that as much as it is the fact that there are over 185 G37X's in stock among the 6 or so dealerships in my immediate area (About 45 mile radius). Almost every dealer in the area has been offering 6K off MSRP for the past month. So getting an extra $700 off on a fully loaded model is not that far off especially if the dealer has some volume incentive number they are trying to get for the month. Their willingness to give up some of the holdback could also have been a factor.

Littlejoe613, I am sorry you got such a crappy deal on the car you bought in whatever state you live in. If it makes you feel better to think I am lying instead of the truth that someone did their research and got a much better deal than you, that is fine. I would be totally bummed out if I were you too. You can also go back and look at some of my prior posts to see that I have been following this board for the past month or so. I am not even sure why I am wasting my Saturday responding to you but I feel like this may help the guy I responded to this morning who lives in the area and I have learned a lot from others in this forum.

Like I said in my original post this morning, I am looking for someone with an Amex code to partner with and posted my email address.

Now I am going to go for a ride in my new car.

    Thanks everyone for your help

The AMEX program is a referral program from Infiniti not a "hook up with some one you dont even know program" after the fact. It may be possible to get the gift cards by cheating but is it honest? Says alot about what Im talking about.
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
o.k. I see. I was thinking that you can get your true cost - incentive or rebate but you cannot. If you read their notes, the true cost is the factory invoice - all incentives and a small holdback.
  • littlejoe613littlejoe613 Member Posts: 53
Also Where are these add'l bonuses published. Do you know the get this money without a doubt? Are you stating facts? If you know for sure let us know so we can take advantage of your superior negotiating skills. Going to a dealer and saying" I know you get other bonus money because this dude on an edmunds blog said so " Isnt going to help him. It will just make him look foolish. Go ahead and tell the truth you probably paid about a grand more which would be invoice. I didnt buy an AWD that may be the difference. (wouldnt want one) There could be cash available to move any AWD since most buying this type of car wouldnt want AWD. I'm buying my next Infiniti in MA where the dealers are stupid. Of course if they sell them all at those prices dealhunter5 will have to get his service done on NY when his local dealer closes. snicker.

Littlejoe, if you could stop calling people liars long enough to think instead of react you might learn something. Dealers(just about all) have been selling cars at invoice or invoice plus $100-200 for years for corporate clients, members of clubs, buying serices like Costco etc. Believe me they are making more than that little bit above invoice on that new car sale. In addition, it is well known that dealers make more money off the back shop, parts and used cars than they do off new cars since the dawn of the internet.

Some dealers will actually lose money on a new car to get it out of their inventory. I bought a brand new Mazda6 at about $2800 below invoice. There was a $1500 rebate on the car. Where did the other $1300 come from??? The dealer ate it or he had some other kind of bonus he earned. We aren't privy to all the kickbacks. volume rewards, etc that dealers are eligible for. That's life. Do you know what everything else you buy costs the retailer exactly?

I'm in the market for a new G37x Sedan, so I have been reading this forum for the last couple of weeks. I too was surprised by the " deal" that Dealhunter5 told us about. But then I checked out the MA dealer (Herb Chalmers Infiniti) site, and they have 74 G37x Sedans. That's twice as many as in my entire state (MI) . With that many cars, so late in the model year, he may very well be selling below invoice less $2500. Me, I'm waiting until after 11/2 to see if Infiniti puts anymore money on the table for sedans. It seems like there are as many 2009 sedans as coupes out there, so I'm hoping infiniti will put out the same kind of money they have on the coupes. I'm guessing I won't do much better than invoice less any infiniti cash the dealer has to work with. I'm not willing to fly to MA even for a great deal!

    Dear all,

Does anybody know if I have previously got an Amex gift card for $500 because I'm a new buyer, would I be able to get yet another $150 for referring people to buy? I have received a code for Amex gift card in my mail, just want to be sure "double-dipping" is ok. Thanks!

I worked for an auditor who did business with a car dealerships in the south. We had to calculate a dealerships profitability. We didnt find where all the sales were 100-200 over invoice. In most cases it was an average of 1000 or so on average. Believe me we didnt discover any hidden secret money people always talk about. In todays information availability, if it were real money instead of supposed money we as consumers would know about it. We did however find bonus cash given to a dealership for meeting a volume sales goal. Arent they entitled to get money they worked hard for to obtain a goal? It wasn't the $1000's of dollars like some people suggests. (maybe 200-500 a car not the money suggested by dealhunter 5). I know that if I'm given a bonus at my job I don't give the money to my clients. I have checked several blogs and nobody has posted any deal like his at nearly $7K off on a sedan. Most are at $4500-5000. Sometimes people don't tell the whole truth about there car deal. As for the selling it to get the service business, you dont lose a thousand or two dollars to sell a car hoping someone will come back and get oil changes and tire rotations. As an auditor that would indicate a dealer who is going out of business.I can get my service done anywhere I want. Understand I'm not a fan of the dealership experience but telling someone unrealistic info on a forum intended to help us all buy a car is BS. There is something about his story that doesnt add up.I wonder what a salesperson at a car dealership makes in commission when he loses the company money? I dont belive him thats all.

For what it's worth, true car claims that the actual dealer cost for dealhunter5's G37 is $35,375. So it could be sold for $35,600 and the dealer would still be ahead by $225. BUT that doesn't take into account that a dealership has substantial overhead in the form of salaries, taxes, insurance, utilities, commissions, profit, and on and on. I suppose if a dealer was for some reason extremely desperate to move his inventory, maybe. Under normal circumstances, $225 is not going to be enough to be profitable.

Go to Escondido. The people in Kearny Mesa are very unprofessional and pushy. The people at the Escondido dealer are better in every way. KM said they had the largest inventory in Southern California, but you can go through the Escondido dealer and actually buy one from the KM lot. They told me that they trade cars between the two dealerships all the time.

If your planning to buy a new G37X with electric steering wheel, make sure the steering wheel does not have a slight play because there's a good chance the dealer can't fix this type of problem.I own one and the reason the dealer and manufacturer told me is that "slight play of the steering column is normal characteristic of this model year and vehicle " which I find unacceptable. I still have the problem as of this writing. Good luck.

It will be with what Infiniti will give them that we don't know about that we know happens. A dealer is not going to lose money on a car sold. It's all about how much they will make.

    Hey Car_Man

I am located in St. Louis, MO and I am looking for the November rates for the G37x - AWD - 15,000 miles - 36 month lease.

I was at a dealer yesterday and was given these numbers on a Black Obsidian 09 G37x with Premium, Splash Guards, Cargo Net and Trunk Mats.

    MSRP of 39,230
    Money Factor of .00141
Residual of 55%, 39 month lease
Gave me an invoice price of $36,127
    Payment of $525 a month.

I didn't know what a realistic counter for this vehicle would be. From what I am reading on this forum people are negotiating anywhere between 2-4k under invoice. With the knowledge of the $2,500 dealer cash, what is a reasonable counter for this vehicle. This dealer has 30+ G37x's on their lot right now. Thanks in advance for any help from the forum.

As it has been said hundreds of times on this forum. You cannot get the $2,500 dealer cash on a lease.

    2008 G37 Sedan

I made the same deal last night, probably the same dealer, on the Blue Slate G37x.

I don't know that they were going to go any lower on the lease price of that car. No more rebates on a lease, or marketing money. Only way to get $1000 of was with Loyalty cash.

    SewellGSM,

I was wondering what is the new incentives for the month of Nov? We really appreciate your inside news, at least I do. Has the incentives increased for the sedan for this month like it did for the coupe last month?
  • jonas4jonas4 Member Posts: 17
I'm waiting for the same info. Since these involve dealer cash, and not actual incentives direct to buyers, it's not as easy as going to the infiniti site. Sales figures issued today show G coupe sales were up 45.6% last month, while G sedan sales were down 7.5%. It's obvious that the bigger dealer cash amounts on the coupes worked. Hopefully infiniti will want to move the sedans and put like amounts on the sedan this month.
  • gooddeal2gooddeal2 Member Posts: 750
I look at the extra incentives on the coupe is barely an extra cash. It makes the coupe price a little more reasonable.

    Sedan x w/ premium = MSRP $38,915/ Invoice $35.886
    Coupe x w/ premium = MSRP $42,565/ Invoice $39,209

G sedan - still $2500 or special rates
G coupe - $3000 or special rates plus $1500 sell down to use with either or lease (lost $500 bonus cash from Oct)
G convertible - nothing (lost $500 bonus cash)

We will be ordering 2010 G's (all 3 models) this week. So, if you want a 2009 - it should be on the ground or in route from Japan (not building anymore).

    Hope this helps. :)

My dealer wants $2000 under invoice. In reading the recent posts it looks as if some people are paying $2500+ under invoice. Is this correct? If so, is that for a new G37?

Yes, I paid an estimated 3200 under invoice for a new 2009 G37X sedan (based on edmunds) using my own financing. They really wanted the sale - also, there is a lot of competition with multiple dealerships in the DC metro area. I would think you could get a better price if you contacted multiple dealerships and see if they can beat the price.
