I live in West KY and am planning to purchase a G35 Sedan in the next couple of months. The closest dealer to my home is Infiniti of Nashville. Can anyone share a report or a buying experience related to this dealership? Were they willing to get reasonable on the price?

Has anyone felt or heard wind noise from the rear windshield of the 2007 G? i don't know if it is common or just only in my car.

    Hi All,

Am planning to buy 07 G35X with prem. No navi.
I am from richmond area and dont mind going to mid-atlantic to get the better deal.
The initial MSRP i am told from Richmond Infiniti is 35,900. I have asked for other quotation over e-mail from other dealers. Just wanted to know what is right price to get the car and where should i start bargaining from.
Hope some one can help me.

    Thx

I dealt with Infiniti of Nashville's Internet manager back in March while looking to order a 6MT with premium pkg only. Was offered $600 over invoice off the bat (of course that was very close to the end of Nissan's fiscal year). Would have gone with them, but my local dealer countered a little lower, and, more importantly, I decided there was significant risk in trying to hit a specified delivery date (I'm several hundred miles away and wanted to take delivery during a previously-scheduled trip). I never finished the transaction with Infiniti of Nashville, but I liked the fact I never got the "everyone has to pay MSRP" line that the local salesman tried to give me at first. Hope that helps.

Thanks Rob, that helps. I had heard that Nashville was one of those dealers that used the "pay MSRP" spill. Glad to know that they are somewhat willing to deal.

I think my contacting the dealership by e-mail rather than visiting in person had a lot to do with the offer I got. In my case, I sent the same generic message specifying my requirements to a large number of dealerships. Less than 25% responded, but the responses I did get were generally good, $1k over invoice or less. I think if you physically walk into the dealership, the sales team figures it's better to start high and then cut increment ally only as necessary. Maybe you don't know what others are paying and will accept paying MSRP; maybe you've fallen in love with the car, need one today, and will pay to make that happen. As much as I don't like the dealership pricing game, it's the smartest way to play for a seller to play it today. But if you contact them by e-mail, I suspect they figure you're price shopping and have probably done your homework, so they need to price accordingly. E-mail really changes the dynamic, so my suggestion is to use it to do the negotiating before you show up (assuming you have the time to do so). And having competitive offers is also important; that's what drove my local dealership to cut their asking price. Good luck!

Sorry for the late reply. I got the figure on the dealer holdback from Consumer Reports New Car Buying Service. However, I understand that the manufacturer reduces the holdback the dealer receives depending on how long the car sits on the lot (its an incentive to move them off the lot as quickly as possible). This is additional dealer profit.

I just bought an 07 g35x with prem and trunk net with a sticker of $36,850 for a price of $34,450. I am in Cincinnati and emailed all the dealers within 150 miles (6 of them) for quotes. The exact car I wanted was in Columbus and the local dealer in cinci said they gould give me $34,990 but when I called columbus with that number and explained the situation, they offered to beat it by another 500 and I went up there the same day to buy it. They even offered to drop it off to me in Cinci, but i wanted to inspect it etc before taking delivery....plus I didn't want anybody driving it on the highway prior to me buying it! My price was about 600 or so over invoice, so keep trying. I did all my negotiation over email withe the last bit over the phone. No negotiation when i got there, just inspected the car, signed the forms and left....great experience! Email the internet departments and check online inventories.

What Apr rate's has everyone been getting when financing threw Nissan/Infinit?
  • coolmaverick33coolmaverick33 Member Posts: 3
    Thx Jason,

I am getting an offer for 33700 for prem & wood (07 35X) about 600 below invoice
is there a catch or is it possible
ant thots are welcome on this.
  • vidurvidur Member Posts: 22
It is possible if there is a factory rebate on offer.
  • 99rams99rams Member Posts: 19
you think if I called a dealer they would tell me if there were any rebates on the G35X’s Cuz I'll call em and you everyone know?
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
Yeah...actually that is about $450 below invoice which seems odd...I'd be looking for any other hidden fees/cost. Ask them for a breakdown of fees that will be added to the cost of the car. Make sure that they aren't charging you $700 for destination as that should already be factored into invoice price and the cost they are charging you.
  • vidurvidur Member Posts: 22
I know there is a $1500 rebate in the coupes. Not sure about the sedans.
  • vidurvidur Member Posts: 22
For got to add I am currently planning to buy a coupe, $1300 below the invoice price. basically, I got Invoice - rebate + dealer profit($200).

Anyone has recent experience with S.F. Bay area dealer that you would recommend? I am thinking about buying a G35 Journey wiht Nav toward the end of this month and wonder what kind of deal can be have in this part of the country.
  • zekeman1zekeman1 Member Posts: 422
Why don't you post your question on the Infiniti G35 Sedan/Coupe Lease Question forum where it will get max exposure :confuse: Z
  • sweendogysweendogy Member Posts: 1,310
Just finished at the dealer in mass --g35x msrp 39115 (premium, nav, splash guards) my deal 36500 - they also said they would convert my xmsr to sirus. look forward to picking it up.

    Hey,

I just bought a G35 coupe in the Bay Area. I am getting it on Tuesday as it has to be brought in from another Dealer. The 2 dealers I spoke w/ were the ones @ Santa Clara & Pleasonton. I went w/ Santa Clara because they are closer, otherwise I was comfortable w/ both.

Frontier Infiniti: No pushing extra's, very patient in explaining details. I had a very good rate from an external finance & they beat that. I guess I will know about their after-sales soon, hopefully which is like their sales

If you want I can unicast the name of salespersons (if that is allowed as I can see I can't post them here)

    Good luck, Vidur
PS: I have heard that they have a good finance or factory rebate going on the sedans right now.

    Hey,

I bought a Sport/Auto+Premium last month from Infiniti of Serramonte in Colma. After emailing several dealers, Colma was the only one to give a price via email. All the other dealers wanted me to come in and view their great selection. The deal was fairly easy. They agreed to an otd price over the phone and stuck with it. It was a pleasant experience and recommend dealing with Claudio Villanueva Teehankee, the Internet Fleet Manager.

    Good luck with your purchase.
  • topgun7topgun7 Member Posts: 412
Heh heh, I guess I will find out soon enough if anyone else will give quote over internet in the bay area. Would you mind sharing what kind of deal do you get from Serramonte and approximately how long ago? Have you tried outside of the bay area (e.g. Sacramento etc.?)
  • robert80robert80 Member Posts: 3
The details of my deal are listed in Message #4216 (April). The otd price was $37,000. I did not try outside the Bay Area. I figured that the time and gas cost would offset the potential discount. Based on the message board, I thought I was getting a good deal and didn't think I could save much more at the time. Prices may be a little softer now.
  • bs55bs55 Member Posts: 15
Got mine from Serramonte too...they dont hassle you on any extras and just told them my quote I got at Marin(took me an hour to bargin with them to get my price, but by then i had a bad taste in my mouth and left) Took my price back to manager and got the price no BS.

Everything but Tire package and Tech for 300 over invoice.

I did email Oakland and they were slow on responding but the inital price over email(1st response back) was pretty good. More then what i paid but with some negotiating you can probably get them down.

Prices now i think should be around invoice if not lower. But nothing should be over 500 above invoice.

Got a quote from a dealer for a 2007 G35 Sedan Base Model for $31,100 + tax and fees. Said it will roughly come out to 10% more. Am i getting a good quote? I believe this is roughly $500 over invoice.

Also, what kind of APR is Infiniti giving now? I have a credit score of 755. I know lexus right now is 6.9, does Infiniti offer anything lower?
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
That is a little less than $500 over invoice...which honestly I think you can do a bit better since it's a base model and doesn't even have the premium package which I think just about everyone wants at a minimum. As to tax and fees...the only fees really should be $595 for acquisition, whatever registration is in your state, and a small doc fee. Then your tax...whatever that is in your state. So, 10% over doesn't really seem too far off. Just don't let them throw in an BS fees to make more profit. As for the APR, I have no idea what current rates are. I'd push for closer to invoice though on that configuration car.

I just bought my 07 g35x with prem, trunk net and wood trim for $34488, ~460 over invoice.

I was just wondering, can I finance a G35 coupe for longer than 5 years? I'm not too hot into leasing now. Anybody tried that? Any information will be appreciated. Thank you. :)
  • vidurvidur Member Posts: 22
Sure you can! I went w/ the 60 month option but was offered 72 months too. Of course, the interest rate is higher & you pay up paying a lot more interest.

You could try capital one, eloans.com

    good luck.

I'm considering buying a new G in TX, want the Journey w/ premium, nav, tech. I heard the TX dealers were less likely to negotiate. Anyone have any good experiences in TX? I'm willing to go to Dallas, Houston or San Antonio (BTW - I'm in Austin).

Can anybody share their experience buying in Michigan / Metro Detroit area? Any good deals within ~150 miles? I am looking for G35 6MT sedan with premium pkg. I have not sent any emails yet, but was wondering if somebody has any tips / advice on what those emails should contain and who should they be sent to?

i am in NJ and got a offer for invoice if I am agressive (what does this mean?). Do you think this is a good deal? Or do you think I can go lower?
  • 99rams99rams Member Posts: 19
    Hey Sukeet,
I'm alittle lost with what your saying? You got an offer for invoice? What dealer was this and was this a base G35x? I see people getting lower then invoice on the couple but i think thats b/c of some rebate.
  • sukeetsukeet Member Posts: 5
lemme clarify. the dealer said that he can give me invoice if i was to become an agressive buyer. and this was the infiniti dealer in bloomfield.

are there rebate programs going on in the NJ area as well?
  • zekeman1zekeman1 Member Posts: 422
He probably means if you become a serious buyer and not someone who is merely getting prices. If you really do follow-up with him, perhaps he will seriously deal.

Invoice is great...I don't think anyone will get lower. The only rebates I've seen are for the 2007 coupes since the 2008 is coming out in a couple months. If you can get invoice or up to $500 over on a 2007 sedan that is great. Just make sure they aren't asking for a huge upfront payment and overcharging you on the other fees or financing. Often a dealer will say that the car is invoice, but if they tack on $1500 in excess fees or pad the financing numbers, it will negate the invoice cost on the car. Have them give you the cap cost, residual percentage, money factor, and a DETAILED breakdown of the upfront costs and fees. Don't just get a round number like $3k down...get the specifics of what each item in the $3k will cost. You can never get too much information when leasing...especially since there are so many variables for them to play with to make a profit.

What types of deals do you think Infinity will have on the G35 coupe in August (when the new G37 arrives). I curious how much better the deals will be then compared to now.
  • vidurvidur Member Posts: 22
the question is that will there be any around in august? Coupes are not very easy to get these days if you are specific about color & options. I would assume it would only get worse. But then I could be wrong. :)
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
Actually...the deals will likely get better...but as you said, the selection will not and people will have to evaluate their needs vs. what they can actually find.
  • sweendogysweendogy Member Posts: 1,310
I agreed and signed for a new g35x with the navigation package- the dealer kept telling me that they were going to convert my XM to SIRIUS radio and how it could be done(that was a major selling point) --we'll after 3 days they tell me they cant do it-- and The finance manager has yet to contact me on financing rates.. I am very frustrated because the dealer is 30 miles away and I would love to somehow pull my deal --CAN I ?? left a 2k deposit and would love it back--for a car that retails for 40k this is such a terrible experiance.
  • dasc151dasc151 Member Posts: 3
Hi, I was wondering if a price quote of $32865 is good for a:
    2007 G35 Journey Sedan
    Premium Package
    Wheel&Tire Package

I looked it up on TMV and it appears to be about 400 above invoice. Thanks, just want to make sure what type of range that is in.

Also what might one estimate the OTD price to be at this price? Thanks in advance.
  • zekeman1zekeman1 Member Posts: 422
Sounds like they defaulted on their part of the deal, ie, they couldn't convert from XM to Sirius. (Btw, when you said that in your original post, my BS meter pegged out...I've never heard that done.) Anyway, since they can't hold up their part of the deal, you should be able to get your 2K back. Again btw, I've never heard of putting 2K deposit down on a car!!! Is this the first car you've ever bought? They're using your $ and my bet is they'll drag their feet to give it back to you, too.

Personally, I would be prepared to go nuclear (if necessary) and demand my deposit back, perhaps in a loud voice. Once obtained, I would run from the dealership and seek another Infiniti dealer, if you can. This one sounds sleazy to me. Z
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
You absolutely should be able to get your money back and pull the deal. If you didn't sign the actual lease contract they can't hold you to the deal. The same goes the other way...just because you put down a deposit doesn't mean they have to honor that deal. It's happened many times where someone has put a deposit down for a car that is en route but someone comes in and offers a deal that is better for the dealership and the car goes to them and the person with the deposit just gets a returned check or an offer on a different vehicle.
  • sweendogysweendogy Member Posts: 1,310
thanks for your (mult) answers to my question on my dealer problems. The sirius was not able to be installed with the navi (your BS meeter was correct--they will install my portable unit along with my Radar detector to make up for this. Car is being delivered to my house tonight-- Dark Blue G35x -- Reason I put 2 grand down on the car - points on my credit card (would of put the whole car on the card but they limited me to 2k).

lets hope its not a :lemon: -- thanks again
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
really? they limited you to 2k? Interesting. I actually put down $5k on my card, but I was putting down multiple security deposits so maybe there is a difference. Did you use that 2k as a cap cost reduction? Also...I wouldn't worry about getting a lemon. The car is fantastic...it's the dealers that are the problem ;) Also, I wouldn't go worrying too much about xm vs. sirius as you will likely see them merge by the end of the year. That is what I'm hoping for. I would much rather have sirius for the programming, but I like the xm nav traffic too.

Ive been on a few websites (yahoo, motortrend) and they have a base Model 2007 G35 Sedan invoiced at $28,930.

The dealer i talked to said that is not including freight charges of $750. So he has a total at 29,930 ( plus cargo net of $40).

Is that a valid charge? I have not specified ordering a new car and having it shipped. Is the freight added on regardless?
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
Check the invoice pricing listed here on edmunds. There is a freight charge of $715 and that is factored into both the invoice and MSRP pricing listed here. there is also a $595 acquisition fee that is standard. Anything above and beyond those dollar ammounts for those specific items is a dealer trying to pad his profit.
  • ngongo Member Posts: 8
I checked Edmunds and the invocie price is $28,930. However, when i used the option to see what people are paying, Edmunds.com factored in $750 for destination fee into it saying this is a flat rate charged. So i guess this charge is standard and valid.

    Any ideas out there?
  • sprinkler13sprinkler13 Member Posts: 455
If you look on edmunds a base model car (not journey) is $28,930 + $715 = $29,645 That is base invoice.
