I thought the SH-AWD splits 70% torque to the rear axle during straight line acceleration and 70% to the front during cruising.
I think something may be wrong with my SH-AWD as the torque split is always more to the front...I also notice (and can feel) a "thumping" noise (lasts for a couple seconds) when I first hit 20 mph (cold weather and only occurs once...but reoccurs when I turn off the ignition and hit 20 mph again).
Any thoughts???
Your post is in the wrong topic. Your best bet is to search for an existing AWD topic or to create a new one.
'08 MDX
Tech/Ent. Package
Includes the wheel locks, all season mats & side body moldings
$42,398 (includes destination) + TTL
Is this a good deal?
I'd like to get Aspen White w/Taupe interior, but color combo seems difficult to find (atleast in my area)
Yes, I did post in other MDX forum but this is a more active board.
Can you please email the details of your deal? My email id is magesh@tektal.com
Thanks much,
M
6 year 120k bumper to bumper, no deductable, 1310 plus tax.
He honored the deal with the printed bernardi offer.
plus bought the tire warranty for three years any "road hazzard damage" for $199, any tire.
I hate negotiating but this board helped me a lot about what to expect and how to deal with it. Thanks again for all you for making our car purchase a smooth one.
Good deal? Should I sign up?
Also, as an aside, I am way over mileage on my '04 MDX (probably more than $2,000 worth). Any suggestions on how to deal / negotiate with dealer or lessor (Honda Financial)?
Much thanks.
Lots of help over there
For you guys in the market...I would investigate COSTCO auto buyer program (assuming you are a member there)...they refer you to a dealer (McGrath) and they quoted me $150 over invoice. Before the accessories, I paid $350 over invoice at Continental. (Continental Acura would not match the COSTCO price due to it not being written down by the salesmen at McGrath. Paid a little more for a dealer that is closer to home and the salesmen that were a lot more friendlier...
Anyways, I LOVE my Acura except for the annoying thumping noise at 20 mph (that is supposedly the ABS system doing a self diagnostic). Noise only occurs once per ignition (with the car sitting atleast 5 min).
Please email me the details of your offer or final deal as I am in NY/NJ and looking as well at the MDX Tech lease. Sounds like a nice deal since it is Sign and Drive. Please let me know Cap Cost/MF/Residual and Dealer since I would do the same deal with fewer Miles (10K).

Paid $41,682 plus my taxes and fees and got the roof racks and cross bars ($650), Crome Running Boards ($725), All Weather Mats ($150).
Also, the lack of answer regarding accessories tells me that the accessories were extra and there's the rub - after adding these (inflated) prices in, the deal is not so much better than some others. Like I have said numerous times in this forum - it is a mistake to look at getting invoice price alone - you need to focus on the absolute total price, including the accessories (installed prices) if you really want to know how good a deal is...just my opinion, but to each his own...
After all, the dealer/salesman does not care a whit what the selling price of the car alone is. What they are focused on is the total price including financing, accessories, warranties, add-ons and trade-in. If they cut $500 off the price of the car, but get it back on the trade-in, it's essentially the same to them. And it's the same to the customer too, although sometimes it may not seem that way. This is often a trick used by the dealer to make the customer happy without actually making any real price concessions.
For example, I noticed that some people have received "less" of a deal on the car. At the same time, they did a good job of cutting the prices on the accessories including installation. While others have posted better prices on the car, but have paid more for the accessories. It's the total price that matters.
Please note that this post is not directed toward any poster(s) in any way or meant to be an indictment in any way. It is just a suggestion of posting prices in a more standardized form so that other forum members can make better sense of the data in making their own purchasing decisions.
Yes the out of the door price witout TTL was $40442. As I mentioned earlier they had offered me a warranty for $1685 7yrs/100k but I dont know wheather I should take it or leave it
Any suggestions
Thanks
I think you got a really good deal! I assume it is for the base model?
I am also in a market for '08 MDX in NJ ( looking to get TECH). Would you be able to give me the name of the dealership you got this lease from?
Thanks,
VBC
I was quoted a base MDX with roof rack, cross bars, running boards, wood steering wheel, wood knob for 39K (included destination). This is approximately invoice price. I have 2 questions.
Is this a good price?
Currently, Acura financing is offerring 2.9% for 36 months, 4.9% for 60 months until 12/14. Is this financing deal getting better after the 12/14 that you know off?
Thanks!
The APR promotion of these rates has been on and off, so I am not sure if this is going to get any better real soon, like in a month or so.
I know invoice is 37.2K. Those 4 options i mentioned (roof rack+cross bars, side steps, wood steering wheel, wood knob) totals to 1.8K, hence the 39K total price.
I thought the APR was pretty good, but didn't know if they had any plans to make it even better after the 14th. I didn't want to sign a deal and then lose 2K on a lower APR rate...
thanks for replying.
With regards to the financing, it appears that Acura has gone with that financing for awhile now, including for the 2007 models. While you may have heard of lowering interest rates in the news recently, financing specials are much less tied to changes in current rates than they are to demand/supply of the auto in question and the sales goals of the manufacturer. I would be surprised if Honda/Acura made a change in their financing rates anytime soon. Your best bet is to do some research on the web about existing and future promotions from the manufacturer to the dealer. And of course, cutting the price on the automobile is analogous to cutting the present value of the financing (if that makes sense)
Best I got was about $42,500 which is about $800-1000 over and another lease offer that probably comes out about $5-600 over.
Anyone doing better in the area? What dealers? Please post your deals in full for comparison if possible....
