i brought it from chevy chase acura in bethesda.
if you can send me an email and i will tell you who the sale person is.
the good thing is they will not charge you processing fee.
Thanks, i love this mdx. hope you can get one too.
Anyone in Northern California (Bay Area) that can share the prices and the dealerships they bought their MDXs from?
I'm looking for the Touring+NAV or the Touring+NAV+RES/DVD. Is it better to get the RES from Acura or should I be looking aftermarket so that I can get a better price (and possibly a bigger screen)
thanks for your help in advance.
I'm about to close my deal on MDX with a dealer. Their quote on following options are almost twice as Acura website MSRP.
- Floor Mats $199 (msrp $117)
- Cargo Tray $215 (msrp $132)
- Wheel Locks $125 (msrp $49)
- Running Boards $995 (msrp $549)
- Tailgate Deflector $695 (msrp $379)
- Cargo Liner $265 (msrp $195)
I understand it needs work to install running boards and/or tailgate deflector, but cargo liner??? I'm asking them to put them at the msrp, believing the more options, the more room for negotiation they have. Am I wrong? Am I becoming an 'inconsiderate' buyer, or are they screwing me? I appreciate your advice!
Don't let them do it. Check www.hondacuraworld.com and you'll see what you can buy the accessories at. Obviously there's no "installation" effort on a cargo liner. It's not hard to install the running boards with the right tool, just a lot of bolts. The tailgate deflector can be intimidating but is still self-installable.
Just to confirm, was your $38,657 price for a MDX w/ Nav for a brand new vehicle, not a demo? What was the odometer reading when you took delivery?
Thanks and congratulations.
Is $40,000 + TTL a good price for a 2004 Acura MDX with NAV and RES?
I am trying to get him to include the side body molding too.
What do you folks think??
Thanks and congratulations to you too
Thanks
I got a quote from the salesman here that they were selling all MDX's for invoice price.
He quoted me 37K for the MDX Touring with RES
and 39K for the MDX Touring with NAV and RES.
Hot OR NOT???

Take it easy....

Thanks
As a long-time lurker on this board, thanks to all who have shared their experiences.
I am thinking to buy a MDX in Philly area. Could someone share some buying experiences? I am buying a either new or used one.
Thank you,
MDXBuyer
+ 2200 taxes + 150 (all other fees). This is in Illinois chicago and the dealer is libertyville acura. The process was smootha nd enjoyable.
Thanks for your responses, it was a great help.
I just financed at 4.05 through Honda on an 04 MDX Touring with Navi. You should also check out the financing tips on this site. There are several companies that offer same-day approval through the internet, with very competitive rates, and they basically send you a blank check via FedEx that you can bring to the dealership if you don't like what they're offering you.
Good luck.
What is your email address? I am looking for a mdx in Southern California.

Then the saleman and manager reported they could not find the car but were sure it had made it into the state. As you can immagine I was pretty frustrated. They reported on July 2 that they had located it in nearby port and it would be delvered soon. Well its July 7th and Im hoping tomorrow I can pick it up. This purchase has almost been anti climatic. Paid under edmond.com TVM for Navi. Thinking they should knock a few more bucks off due to hassle. Any thoughts.
I am looking to buy a 2004 MDX; but it seems that the local dealers here are asking for a lot more than what people are paying in other states. Any recent experience or dealer recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

I've read numerous posts from people wanting to know if the price they paid was fair or not. I read a book once that suggested 2 to 3% over invoice is a fair mark up. With this in mind, I made 1 phone call to Ed Napleton Acura and purchased an '04 MDX AWD + Rear Entertainment System for $709 over invoice (slightly less than 2%). I used this same method 3 years ago to purchase a new '01 RX300 and I'm satisfied with the results.
Wheel locks and cargo net were thrown in and the final numbers worked out like this:
$36,482 Invoice according to Edmunds
709 Mark up
545 Destination Charge
54 Doc Fee
2,551 Tax 6.75% Will/Dupage County
143 Plates
$40,484 Total price
I might have been able to haggle down a couple hundred more by pitting dealer against dealer, I don't know. But the deal was done in about 15 minutes and I was satisfied that I didn't get taken.
The salesman was great. He called all over the country to find what we wanted and it was delivered in about 2 weeks.
The sales manager did our paperwork and offered us Hondas best rate of 3.89%. That couldn't beat our credit union rates of 3.5%, so he held off on handing in our Honda financing until we could get him a check from the Credit Union.
I would be glad to recommend the salesman.

Also I did this deal at the end of the month, and got to the first final price pretty quickly (all over the phone without stepping into the dealership) Marin Acura was short of winning this deal by little more than a couple of hundred bucks and that too they fired the sales guy in the middle of my negotiation and I had to restart the whole process. Most other Acura vendors tried the haughty approach -"we will not budge on our lowest quoted internet rate" (Stevens Creek, Acura of Oakland, Acura of Pleasanton)
I think I did well but want to confirm. Also the service from Acura Serramonte has been great so far
Thanks
