Could any one guide me with pricing for MDX touring with nav and DVD? What would be fair price out the door? Please give me a range. I got a quote for $41045 before tax and DMV charges. Is it fair in CT state?
I am going to buy an Acura MDX Touring for my wife. We live in the North Alabama (Huntsville) area but I am willing to travel to Birmingham, Atlanta or Nashville to avoid a hassle and get a fair price.
I have a general question concerning the pricing for the vehicle. Expressed as a percentage of the MSRP, what can I expect as far as an actual out-the-door discount for the vehicle purchase ? What have been your experiences concerning pricing negotiations ?
that's kind of high. the invoice (including destination fee) is $40180. your quote is ~$800 above invoice. I remember somebody got it at $38800 in South California. the quote I got in North California is ~$800 below invoice, which is $39380. I am not sure the difference between stats are so big.
We also live in CT and just purchased a premium MDX in NY, about 20-25 minutes from us. I don't know which part of CT you live in and whether you would drive to Wappingers Falls, NY off of I84 to Heart Acura. You can go to their website and request an internet price. They were very pleasant to deal with and you might be able to get a better deal. The invoice price for our car was $33,811 (according to carsdirect) and we got it for $33,700. The invoice price from Carsdirect according to what your looking for is $40,179. You can try to shoot for something $200-$300 above this invoice or maybe they'll even go lower at Heart Acura!
We called other dealers in CT and NY to match or do better than the $33,700 and some dealers were quite rude, only 1 other dealer in NY did $33,500 but it was a little farther and Heart Acura was very nice to us so we ended up purchasing from them. Other dealers were telling us we didn't know a good deal when we saw one...no, we are just smart consumers and we shop around to get the best deal possible!
Also, in NY, there is no conveyance fee of $299 like we have in CT. Just make sure you know all the charges they will add beforehand.
Thanks Helen001, I am living in Danury,CT so Heart Acura is about 35 miles. I just sent a quote request to them. I will update you how it goes. Also do they offer 0.9 APR and free oil change in Heart Acura? Thanks a lot.
Hi all, I am Still debating between buying MDX Premium or MDX touring with DVD+Navigation, But please let me know what is the best price I should be looking for in NJ and the dealer who you know , Thanks in Advance
We are also from Danbury and it's a nice, easy drive over there, right off of I84. We like eating at the Cracker Barrel which is right off the exit so that was a plus for us. lol The 0.9APR I believe is for 36 months, 1.9 for 48 and 2.9 for 60 months. We tried getting the free oil changes at Heart Acura but they would not budge but they do offer the service cars when your car is in there for service. They didn't have the wheel locks which come with the car so we still have to go and pick them up and I think he threw in a free oil change there but that's about it. I know some places do give free oil changes. There's another dealership that does that but it's a little farther. If you want the name of the place, let me know. They actually offered the car to us for $33,500, $200 under what Heart offered it to us for.
The paperwork we had when we put a down payment on the car and when we actually picked it up had a slight difference. There was a $45 charge for registration (something like that) but when we picked up the car, it was $204 so I don't know if it was more expensive because we are out of state. Then they charge $10 and $12.50 for a couple other charges which is minor compared to what CT charges. Tax is 6%.
Thanks a lot for the valuable information. Hope we might be neighbours (He bought a new MDX recently). Could you give me the other dealership name also? I can compare both the places. End of this year I will be moving to different state so free oil change to a particular dealership wont work for me.
As for as now I got the following quotes Dealer in CT : 41267.00 + tax (includes free oil change till I own) Dealer in NY : 41045.00 + tax Dealer in NY : 44545.00 - 5% + tax One dealer gave a open statement 'Come to me at last with all other dealers price, I will beat all the price' Waiting from Heart Acura for Quote. Will see. Thanks again MDXLover
The other place is Curry Acura in Scarsdale, NY. We also dealt with the Internet mgr via email. This is part of the email he sent to us:
1. Friendly relationship with our staff (sales, service and parts). 2. We offer accessories at a nominal mark-up over our cost. 3. The majority of your paperwork can be finalized from the comfort of your home or office. 4. You will receive a full tank of gas and a professional detail for your new vehicle. 5. Upon request, the vehicle may be delivered directly to your home or place of business. 6. A large fleet of free loaner cars will be available to you, including MDX models. 7. 72 Hour Price Guarantee 8. Free Oil Changes on all Internet Sales Transactions 9. A "Pit Stop Service" oil change in 20 min 10. Saturday service hours 8 am - 5 pm.
Some places also participate with the Costco discount (I'm not sure what the discount is). If you are a member of Costco, let them know. Heart does not participate with Costco.
Who is the dealer that told you they would beat all the prices? Was it in CT?
From Acura of Westchester I got that message. Thanks for Costco Discount. I will keep in mind. Tomorrow I am spending whole day in visiting different dealers around the place to get good deal on MDX. -MDXLover
just got the following email from a dealer in PA (Phila area):
Dear Valued Customer, from now until the end of the month. I can save you another $1500 off any MDX that I have in stock. These means you can buy it for $1500 under INVOICE.
I am planning to buy the Acura MDX w/navigation & DVD system in St Louis, MO area. Any advice regarding price negotiation like which price range should I start, and what would be an appropriate out of door price. Thanks.
Where in Denver did you find your price and how much did you pay? Flatirons qouted me 43045 for touring Nav and DVD, would surely like it under 40K. Also the body style is going on 4-5 years, anyone know of a redesign pending. -Thanks for the help
IS this rebate only for this one dealer. I am in the market for an MDX w NAV in northern NJ. I priced an MDX NAV yesterday. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
seems every dealer got the fax yesterday $1,500 factory to dealer incentive on '05 MDX and all were willing to sell in stock cars at $1,500 under invoice to make the holdback ($1,010) profit. we signed for a black on black base that leaves the factory tuesday. dealer agreed to add roof rack at cost ($253) total $32,553 + ttl
Put deposit on a metallic blue/quartz/DVD/NAV MDX last night with Open Road Acura in Wayne, NJ. Then last night I got the $1500 rebate email from another dealer, and called the salesperson at Open Road. They were surprised I knew about the deal already, and they did lower the price by that much.
Final price paid -- 38,370 plus tax and title (invoice is 40,180 - so I was about 300 under invoice to begin with, then deducted $1,500)
Chrome side steps, protection package, tailgate spoiler, body side molding, cargo net, cargo tray -- all installed for about $1100.
Then we got the 0.9% financing. We were going to pay cash, but then I figured that I could get 3.5% at ING Direct...
can anyone tell how to obtain the rebate email. thanks just got offer MDX with NAV, running board, tailgate spoiler, and all season floor mats for 39,583 in New York. Is this a good deal?
outstanding nav system (touch screen is beyond cool)
bluetooth works fine with a motorola v330
question - when i take my foot off the accelerator, say to coast up to a light, I feel a noticable drag from the transmission (in D5)........quite a bit different from our other cars, an Expediton and an Avalon..........is this normal?
I am trying to decide between the two. So far not finding any good reason to shelve out extra 8-10K for MDX. I am sure you all went through the same analysis. Please share your findings. thanks
I am trying to decide between a base MDX + aftermarket DVD system (bigger than 7") vs the Touring with the DVD.
All I really want is the DVD player as an option, and 7" seems very small. What's everyone think about the other features in the Touring for the extra money? Was it worth it?
Does anyone have additional info on this $1500 rebate? Is it nationwide? I am in Fla. and it seems from the posts that the best price to expect would be about $37,700 for Navi and $38,300 for Nav+DVD (including dest. charges but ex. taxs). I would like to get this price on either but so far dealer is about $1800.00 above this. Would like to close a deal this week. Seems like dealers may be under pressure with lots of supply due to gas prices and end of model year coming up. What do you think. Thanks.
The rebate email came from a dealer in PA that I was working with. I asked my salesperson at Open Road about it and he confirmed that they will reduce the negotiated price by 1500. I would think that any of the salespeople will know about this deal...
I just bought an MDX with Touring and Navigation. After shopping around and research along with the tips from this forum I'm very happy with my price. Total price including destination was just $37, 895.00. This was the dealers price right off the bat with no fighting or haggling. When I went to sign the papers I was waiting for the finance department to start the "do you want LoJack, paint and interior protection etc, etc, etc". NOTHING. It was, "would you like to add any accessories or anything?" "No thanks" "Very good sir, please sign here" The dealer was Santa Monica Acura and they blew everyone's price away by at least $600 Highly recommended dealer and 81% of their business is internet sales.
I have received word from Davis Acura and Sussman Acura in Phila area that the rebate was avaible. The exact email is as follows :
Dear Valued Customer, from now until the end of the month. I can save you another $1500 off any MDX that I have in stock. These means you can buy it for $1500 under INVOICE.
Nothing special -- if the sales people are honest, they won't give you bull that they never heard of this. Unfortunaly, this deal came in about 1 day too late for me, so now I'm "stuck" driving a G35X for the next 3 years ...
Price for a Pilot EX-L per posters here is about $29K Base MDX with June $1.5K incentive is $32.3 For the $3.3K you get different sheet metal and 2 things you can't get on a Pilot:
1) Sun Roof - until my hair falls out let me feel the wind in it (might not be worth $3.3K) and 2) Side curtain air bags all the way back to the 3rd row, since we have 4 kids someone is often in the back row so this is priceless......
'06 Pilot might come with SAC but dealers will certainly stay closer to MSRP on an EX-L and the cars won't be here until at least September.
As per forum, rebate notification applies to cash or financed purchase for dealer stock inventory. Sales person will include rebate tonight. Picking up car with NAV. Thank you all for the shared information.
Just received an email from Heart Acura for the price quote 40,180 + 6% tax. Lowest out of 4 dealer around Danbury. I didn't talk to him in phone yet. With this price I will try Scorsdale Guy dealer. Hope for the luck. (Also i am gonna as for $1500 discount as Phily guys getting...)
Is that for touring with NAV? as I called them earlier today and they gave me 39,200 before CT tax and fees. For touring they were quoting 36,600 before CT tax and fees I'm also looking around the Danbury/Hartford area. Also, the salesperson denied that they are offering the 1500 discount that the folks in Phily were offering.
Yeah the price is for Touring, Nav and DVD.Why only Phily guys are getting $1500 off and we are not...Then may be I will wait till end of this month...
I bought from MileHigh. I am sure you can get it close to 40 but you have to do lots of phone negotiations. Dont go to dealer unless you are close to your price.
Many dealers will say that the manufacture rebate is extended to dealers only. You need to tell the salesman that other dealers are willing to extend that offer. The one in phily has the best price of all for a touring with nav is $37,300 including destination and no tricks and no hidden cost (Davis Acura). Hope this will help you to negotiate with CT dealers.
Trying to fiqure out if the lease I just did for a Touring w/nav is in the ballpark. I think I may have left some money on the table. 36 mos 15K miles $495/mos incl 5% sales tax. $2500 all-in upfront cost. The dealer threw in the running boards. Any thoughts.
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually leveraged the threat of "going to Philly", to bring down the price of the touring + NAV here in CT to $38,300. I know it is better than the quote from Heart in NY ($39,200) but is still not enoughcompared to PA prices. However, as of this afternoon the "Philly price" quoted to me from those 2 dealerships for touring+NAV was already up to $37,800. Hence, still thinking about going to Philly though...
Also, I noticed that the target prices over at Carsdirect.com are way lower than Edmunds TMV (factor of $1,000 lower) so good deals are out there, we just have to look harder.
FWIW I have been emailing with a dealer down in Northern Virginia who confirmed the -$1500. I said that people have been getting $1500 under invoice and he agreed to that...almost too easily. I will try to push for more.

THanks in advance.

Just negotiated MDX with NAV. Pickup Monday evening.
Extra 1500 would always be appreciated.
Thank you.
BTW, yes, this can be combined with the low APR.
It was, "would you like to add any accessories or anything?"
"No thanks"
