Do you think that Honda/Acura will offer another attractive incentive (i.e., financing, dealer rebates) after 7/5? I'm trying to decide whether to buy now or wait. Thanks, all!
If you believed in GM is keeping their sales and the GAS price stay up high and SUV are not moving, then 100% they will continue this offer or the dealership will cut deeper on their own. I drop pass 2 Honda dealers everyday, looking over thier lots, it seems they are not selling at all.
I got a great price at this dealership thanks to this message board!! I would never have thought I could get the Touring w/DVD & NAVI for $1500 under invoice, without reading about other's experiences here, but I just took delivery of one at that price. After trying unsuccessfully to get Hendrick in Charlotte to give me this deal (they are a a few minutes closer to me and I had a good experience buying a new TL from them last year), I then asked for it and got the offer of $38,680 + TTL from Pohanka via internet and phone conv w/int mgr and was ready to travel 6 1/2 hours to get it there on Thursday; but in the interim, I shopped it to local dealerships, and Flow accepted same. They had almost any color, and I was able to get exactly what I wanted for a great price. Thanks to you all for sharing...it saved me thousands!
if you can wait until the 06 models come out in oct/nov, i am sure you will get a deep discount on the 05's, probably comparable to (or even better than) the current deals. but then the color choices will probably be limited, as dealers may not have your ideal color combos left.
That is a great deal. I live in the bay area and will try to see if I can get a similar deal on a Touring with Nav and DVD. Did you go through the Internet Sales department in Serramonte ?
I've been searching to find a 04 with NAVI. Does it seem to make sense that with the 06 model year coming out in about 60 days, that one would sell for about $30k and an 03 with NAVI should be about $24K? thanks.
I know the 0.9%-1.9%-2.9% financing goes to 7/5, does anyone know if the $1,500 incentive goes to 7/5 or 6/30? The buyer of my car just backed out...anyone interested in a 2000 BMW 323i with sport/premium/xenon? :confuse:
Just brought home silver / ebony Touring from Acura of Boston; paid $34,700 + $600 (running boards) + TTL. Excellent experience, offered them these prices over the phone, and came down to the dealership to sign. No gimmicks, no games contrary to what I had heard before. Others (Clair, Peabody) just would not go down; and let me know that they were "offended" when I suggested these offers to them. Oh well...
I'm about to buy an MDX and hoping to purchase before July 5th. Just wanted to know if the $37,200 was out the door price or you paid tax and registration on top of that? I've made some offers but not a positive response from the bay area sales people. Thanks
We are going to test drive the MDX tonight. The price you got was $34,700 for a touring? I am new to this so excuse my ignorance, but what's TTL stand for. Is that a dealer incentive? We are planning on looking at the base model, but maybe we will step up. After checking the invoice price Edmunds has, the lowest touring was $36,355.00. Your price is excellent then... I live in Connecticut and there are only 3 to 4 dealers in the state. Maybe we will have to try the internet option as well.
The price was 34700 for Touring (no NAV or DVD); Edmunds price does not include $1500 "underground" allowance (factory to dealer?) off invoice. That is how most of posting on this board describe MDX pricing that is below dealer invoice.
TTL is taxes, title, licensing. There is a dealer incentive out right now for $1500. It seems to expire July 5th. Most people are able to get their vehicles at least $1500 under invoice right now. Just let the dealer know that you are informed about the dealer incentive and that many dealers are passing it on to customers. I am on the west coast so I can't help you with specific dealers. Hopefully someone in your area will also respond. Good Luck! And that is the correct invoice price for the touring. The invoice on the base model is $33,812.
I also just bought an MDX premium (not touring) from Acura of Boston (see post 2250). The TTL = Tax, title, license (registration). Doc fees = $193.75.
I recommend Acura of Boston. Remember to make sure to take $1500 off the dealer invoice of the MDX you want before negotiating. You should also include any extras (all season mats, cargo tray, etc) as part of the negotiation. You will see that I got the $1500 off the invoice and only paid @ $88 for my extras. Look at the other posts and see what people have paid for the MDX you want. I knew others had paid @$32,500. First offer from Acura was $33,200 and I indicate that seemed higher than others were paying and he came down quickly.
Work with the Internet Sales Manager at Acura of Boston. He is the Sales manager and he gets right down to business and cuts out the sales b*llsh*t. Once you agree on price when you go to the dealership he will set you up with one of his sales guys to do the paperwork, test drive, etc.
MDX base model $35,290 towing package (hitch set up and torque etc) $1044 Burlwood interior $495
The deal is slated to be a 3 yr lease 15k miles per year
They want 2200 down and 525/month.
without the wood trim and tow package it is
2000 down and 487 a month
I am curious why I am asked to pay up front (over the 3 yrs ) and in full for the tow package and wood trim.
When I turn the lease in in 3 yrs I have paid in full for those 2 add on items, but then I have to give them back to the bank so they can sell them a second time?
tonysgirl - We live in CT also and bought our MDX in NY at Heart Acura through the Internet mgr. We bought it last month and the $1500 below invoice incentive was not offered yet but I think we still got a good deal on a base model for $33.7K. CT will charge you a dealer conveyance fee also. Depending where you live in CT, it was about a 30 minute drive from Danbury. Someone else on this board also spoke to Westchester Acura and the internet mgr told them to get quotes and he would do better so it's worth a try.
I just saw your post. Am looking for MDX with nav + dvd in Raleigh area. Don't mind a little travel to get the best price. How should I proceed. Did you call dealerships first or request quotes on internet. Would appreciate guidance/help.
I was looking for Aspen White MDX Touring w/NAV & RES. I did a google search and called all dealerships that claimed as having it. Right off the bat, Flow Motors quoted $39,679 (including destination charge), plus $349 doc fees. I would have paid local TTL since I am in Louisiana. I did not mention the $1500 incentive but may have been able to get it a little lower, had I done so.
I would like some input or an evaluation of the following lease points for an Acura MDX Touring (package #189 w/Navi and DVD):
Sales Price: $38,180 ($1,500 below invoice, less $500 back from dealer holdback) Total Capitalized Costs: $38,775 (includes $595 Acquisition Fee) MSRP: $44,545 (includes $570 Destination & Delivery Charge) Residual Value Percentage: 55% Residual Value: $24,499.75 Depreciation Amount: $14,275.25 Mileage: 15,000 per year Additional Mileage Cost: $0.10 per mile over 15,000 miles per year at beginning of lease or $0.15 per mile over 15,000 miles per year at end of lease Money Factor: .00285 or 6.84% APR Front End Costs: first lease payment plus document fee ($95.00), plus title & tags ($238.00), plus sales tax (approx. $2,900.00)
My monthly lease payment is $660 per month. This payment includes an additional amount of $83.33 per month which covers an additional 10,000 miles per year so that the lease is really a 25,000 miles per year lease.
Here in Maryland, I negotiated $38,180 for the exact same vehicle [Aspen Pearl White Touring MDX with Navi/DVD; called Package 189]. This was based on an invoice price of $39,610.00 less the manufacturer's incentive to dealer of $1,500, less an additional $500 from the dealer's holdback.
Just finalized a deal on a sage brush (quarts) MDX w/Nav for $39,400 walkout price including 6%NJ tax. Picking it up later today. I spent less than 2 minutes on the phone with the internet manager at Ramsey Acura and the deal was done, no-nonsense. Everything was done via fax and phone and the entire amount financed at .9% for 36mo. I just go in later today just hours before the end of the month, sign, and drive.
Cury Acura in Scarsdale came close but did not respond to my counter in time. They called a few hours too late, and I wasn't going to back out of a deal to save a few bucks. They do work hard to earn your business. Definitely give them a call too.
Contrary to these guys, dealing with some dealers especially away from the tri-state area and PA were like pulling teeth. Why can't they just give me a straight answer? Worst of them all is Bridgewater Acura which happens to be my local dealer. They're rude, and they lie. Their service department is just as bad.
Hey skigreat... Congrats with your purchase. You said your price was out the door. I assume that included TTL? Anything else in the deal (floormats, etc?). Let me know how your pick up went!
Hey skigreat, can you give us your break down? Based on 39.4k out the door w tax and everything, and assuming you didn't add any "add-on", your base price would be below 36.8k??? Let me know.. Because I am looking to give them a try too, lucky I saw your posting.
For everyone out there, I have to agree with SKIGREAT, Bridgewater Acura really is the worse Acura you can prossible find. You can call them many times and each time, the price is different. Since we can't give the name, there are only two person working as internet sales. And suppose, they work with each other (so they said), but one will give you a price and the second person will say it was an mistake. So don't waste your time over there.
Anyway.. skigreat, waiting for your good news. Hopefully you will come back here early enough that I can get a new MDX for this long weekend.
Just got back home in my spanking new MDX w/Nav. I'm tickled pink! No extras, but floor mats come with the car.
They backed out from 39.4K, Doc fee 135, NJ Tire fee 7.50, Temp plate fee 3, TL 339. Then divide that number by 1.06, and there you have it. I consider doc fee as a part of dealer profit, so if you add that back in, you get a pretty good idea. Some dealers charge higher doc fees, so dealing with the walkout price was the logical thing to do.
Payments come to $1110.11 for 36 months starting in 45 days, no money down. I am so thrilled.
Every dealer's got like a 100 MDXs on the lot, if they don't wanna deal, they can keep it. Famous quote from Bridgewater: "The 1500 is our money Acura gives to us, and we don't have to give it to you." My reply: "You can keep the money AND the car! All yours!"

i emailed a bunch of dealers in NC 3 days before the end of june to see what kind of prices i could get for a silver navi w/dvd. Flow immediately quoted me a price below cost and finally came to $38,679 plus 349 doc fee. So essentially the price was 39,028. I live in Charlotte and they drove the car down to me the next day and did all the paperwork over the phone and at my house. Amazing experience. i still have other dealers trying to get my business. It pays to buy a car when they are trying to meet their end of month numbers.
This board has been very useful for me. It is my turn to give back to the community. I just picked up my 2005 MDX Touring (no navi, no dvd) yesterday from Sussman. Here is my price breakdown Touring: 34,700 molding: 279 temp tran: 10 doc fee: 55 tire tax 5
total: 35,049
I am registering in NY, I need to pay NY tax and registration separately.
Overall it has been a wonderful experience: Send quote request to the dealer Negotiate price over the phone Go down there with a certified check spend less than 30 minutes there, drive home
I highly recommend Sussman, their service exceeds my expectation. Without me mentioning it, the car came with wheel locks and a full tank of gas, which you normally do not get from NY dealers.
I was quoted 399/month for the base model, 12K miles/year, with 3100 down... Is this a good deal or should I try for more. Also, how does residual value and the price of the SUV factor in to the lease?
Wish I could have gone to MD or VA. But, I would have paid more in shipping fees. I got mine from Arlington TX (about 600 miles from me). Mine was 39379+TTL+shipping.
Don't work from the monthly payment as your starting point. Don't be a payment buyer, be a MDX buyer. First, you must negotiate your best possible deal as if you were purchasing the vehicle.
Residual Value is a factor that lease companies use to determine the amount of depreciation that will occur during the length of the lease. The person leasing the vehicle is responsible for covering the cost of depreciation as part of their monthly lease payment.
At this point in time, an Acura MDX lease at 15,000 miles per year would have a residual value of 55% of the MSRP.
The lower the sales price you are able to negotiate directly lowers your capitalized costs in the lease which lowers your monthly payment. The higher the residual value of the car, the less depreciation you are paying for and the lower your monthly payments will be.
I was under the impression from the sales manger in my situation that the 1500 dollar rebate was not available for leased vehicles. Does anyone know if this is true? My money factor was much less but everything else looks fairly familier.
tintin: Invoice Price for the MDX Touring with Navi + DVD is $39610 + $570 Destination for a total invoice of $40,180. Honda/Acura of America is currently offering a $1,500 manufacturer to dealer incentive that you can ask for off the price of the car. Many dealerships will pass this savings onto the customer in order to sell a vehicle. Secondly, Acura offers the dealership about $1,200 in holdback money that you can negotiate with them as well.
I was able to get the car at Invoice, less the dealership incentive of $1,500 and then less an additional $500 of the dealers holdback.
On your deal, the dealer made about $1,900 profit; about 4.5% of the invoice price. You did a pretty good job!
MDXmew - Depending on what state you are in (for tax purposes), it is in line with the special offer they have doing until 7/5. In California, it is $2353 + tax, title etc. I would always aim to do no money down if possible and stay away from any cap cost reduction. I think you can get more negotiating down on the Touring models as opposed to the base. Look atthe other posts regarding the sales price negotiated on the base model for a comparison
Thanks to this board I got what looks like a good price on the MDX Touring with Nav/DVD. Excellent customer service at Sunnyvale Acura and no pressure at all - this has been the smoothest car buying experience I have ever had. A bit of a drive forme but worth it.
Details - MDX Touring with Nav/DVD. Color - Silver with Ebony. Price - 37800
Got in touch with the Internet sales department and asked them to match some of the prices I got from other dealers.. Drove down and picked it up.
I ordered my MDX w/ Nav + almost all the accessories you can think of for out the door price little over 41k. I think it was a very good deal. And I got it from Acura of Ramsey. Since they said the sevice dept are off for the long weekend, they can't get my car ready until Tuesday (last day of 1500 and 0.9 deal). So until then I just have to wait and will sure come back to post once I pick up the car to proof. Good luck for those who doing shopping this weekend. And give Ramsey a try (call the [non-permissible content removed]. sales Manager, who is off on Wed.). I don't think there will be too many [non-permissible content removed]. sales Manager who's off on Wed. Double agree with SKIGREAT, to Bridgewater, keep your 1500 as you wished and the MDX too. :P
I ordered over the phone yesterday. It was fast and quick. Ask him for the price and add-ons. Go over few numbers and he faxed me all the paper work and even the VIN number. So I believe I got the car assigned to me already. Just waiting for Tues. for the tech to put all the accessories and I should be good to go.
I will help you out, but I need to know the answer to a few questions:
1.) What is the MSRP of the MDX Touring model you are looking to lease? 2.) Does your purchase price of $34,700 include the destination charge? 3.) Speak with your Acura dealer and ask what Money Factor they will be using in the lease calculation. The interest rate you quote of 0.9% is a promotional rate being offered and subsidized by Honda America for purchased vehicles, that will not apply to a 36 month lease. [Money Factor will be in the .001188 to .0025 range most likely.] 4.) Taxes of 7%; Will you write them a check at "drive off" for the taxes or will you build it back into your lease payment? 5.) What about other costs and fees such as: Acquisition Fee, Document Fee, Dealer Prep., Tags & Title, Security Deposit, Lease Administration Fee, or Processing Fees? Of these fees and costs: a.) Which ones will you be responsible for? b.) What is the actual dollar cost of each? and c.) Will you be writing them a check at "drive off" for this amount or will you be building it back into the lease payment?
I realize this sounds like a lot to ask, but these are the questions that must be answered in order to get a real lease payment calculation that you can evaluate. Dealers love to lease because there are so many opportunities to "mine" for little profit nuggets.
1) MSRP = $39,725 Invoice = $35,785 2) $34,700 = amount I've seen others post they got the same model for after the $1500 rebate. It does not include destination. 3) Not sure what the money factor is all about. Maybe you could explain? 4) taxes will be built back into the lease 5) other costs approx. $1K. My goal is to trade-in my 03' Accord EX with no money extra out of pocket.
I would like to know the calculation for leases and which factors are fixed and which are variable so that I have more bargaining power with the dealers.
I got mine,Touring Nav & DVD plus two interior bike racks, $38,211 plus tax and Lic. Love the car. Nav is wonderful. 2800 miles in two weeks. Like it better every day.
Finally got my touring+Nav with dealer incentive deal from Acura of Portland. Pretty good experience. No pressure, I wasn't prepared for the extended warranty, I felt I paid a little extra but figured that I had the recourse of cancelling it for full refund ... Other than that pretty good experience, got the vehicle in Garage... Many thanks to the forum which gave me hope and patience to hold on for the good deal... Any experience on buying extended warranty online from hondacuraworld or curryacuracare.com... getting better prices on either one of them by about 300-400... do dealers sell the extended warranty alone too? If so any advantage buying from local dealer instead of internet? Want to make sure before taking any action... :confuse:

Any experience on buying extended warranty online from hondacuraworld or curryacuracare.com... getting better prices on either one of them by about 300-400... do dealers sell the extended warranty alone too? If so any advantage buying from local dealer instead of internet? Want to make sure before taking any action... :confuse:
