Have received some widely ranging quotes on a lease for a Touring w/nav. The last two dealers here in Houston said that you can't combine any of their lease specials (didn't clarify what those were) with the $1500 incentive. I received some Dallas and Beaumont quotes for 36 mo. 15k miles $1250 at signing, $525 mo. payments. The money factor is .0188 (I have excellent credit) and 58% residual. How does that deal sound? Has anyone else heard that you can't combine the lease and incentive deal? I'm going to get it in writing, but don't want to drive an hour and a half for a "oops, can't do that after all".
check out Acura of Orange Park (Jacksonville).... They have been having some real good prices...and other people in this forum has posted what price they got from them and they are very good..... Good Luck!
We came close to buying an MDX before buying a minivan a few days ago. We were going to do it through Heart - Craig was the salesman. He offered prices in line with the best on this board, was a straight shooter and even offered to meet me halfway to NYC since I needed to travel for the 4th of July holiday. Give him a try...I wish Acura sold an AWD minivan...
While the $1500 incentive is still in effect, I'd like to make an offer to my local Acura dealer (Pohanka Acura in Chantilly). It's unfortunate that I missed the special financing deal which recently expired.
I need to make an offer for an '05 MDX Touring w/ Navi and DVD ($44,545). Exterior accessories include Moonroof Visor ($132), Body Side Molding ($232), Rear Tailgate Deflector ($379), Side Steps ($549) and Fender Flares ($669). This totals to $46,506 not including sales tax, labor for installation of accessories and dealer fees.
Those familiar with Virginia's sales tax and local dealer fees, please suggest an "out-the-door" price offer.
I submitted some inquiries for price quotes over the internet and within a few hours got a price back from Oakland Acura. I am shopping for a 2005 MDX Touring with Navi and RES MSRP $44,545. I was offered $39,680. I believe that right around invoice. How much lower should I shoot for when I call to negotiate on the phone? If they don't go any lower at all, is that a good deal at this time? Thanks for your help.
Hi there. Can you tell me a fair price to pay in the Boston area for an MDX - just the base model? What is the $1,500 incentive? I did not see that on acura.com. Can anyone refer me to a good dealership? Thanks for your help - it seems like a great car.
I have been driving my new MDX with NAV & RES for the last week or so. What do I need to do to activate On-Star? Is there anything else to do? Are there any fees involved for keeping the NAV feature? I know we have to pay for the On-Star & XM radio.
for me, when I took the delivery, saleswomen did onstar activation for me. what you need to do is press onstar button, and wait for somebody from onstar will ask you questions,,,,. I don't think fee needed for NAV. 1-yesr onstar usage has been paid by manufacture. need to pay for renew. 3-month usage for Xm has been paid (or just trial), after 3-month, you need to pay to extend usage.
My local dealer told me the $1500 incentinve on the MDX is no longer being offered, but I read here that it is. Can someone point me towards the correct information? I checked the Acura web site, and it said no incentives were currently active on the MDX.
The best place for post-purchase questions is in our Acura MDX Owners Club area. We like to reserve this one for pricing & purchasing experience only, to avoid clutter.

I'm going to purchase an MDX touring with Nav, and RES within the next two days. A dealer here in NYC told me the $1500 incentive will continue BUT, the customer must take delivery of the vehicle by the end of August. I suggest that you find another dealer. The one you're dealing with isn't above board.
The best price I've received on an MDX Touring with Nav and RES is $39,179. That's about $1000 under invoice. Is anyone in the NYC area getting a better price?
Are all the dealers charging the full mark-up price for the optional equipment + installation? I'm don't have the dealer invoice for the options, but if H and A can sell the same equipment for the price they do, the dealer cost has to be less that that!
Wendelcat - check out my post 2306 and 2250. We bought the MDX Premium (Base) at Acura of Boston - good experience. Worked with the Internet Sales manager.
Thanks for the heads-up. I just sent an email to the salesperson I was dealing with, telling him I know the incentive is out there, and asking him for his best possible price. In the mean time, I sent emails to other area dealers directly, along with using some of the Internet sales sites. I'm sure the sites will forward the emails to the exact same dealers, but it will be interesting to see what price differences I get. (I used different email addresses. Actually, my wife used one of the internet sites yesterday, and we got a reply back from the same dealership I've been dealing with, but a different guy, probably their internet sales manager.)
Thanks for the help of everyone on this forum. I'll let you know what kind of deal I get.
I went to heart acura looking for a MDX with NAV/DVD and the salesman would not come to my suggested price of 38,700. He said for 38,700 they would not make any money which is a joke. I of course told him that the other I have already talked to other dealerships and they where willing to do the price. He suggested 39,2?? and I would have gone for it if he was just honest (LOL) about the not making any money on 38,700. Most of the other dealers in the tri-state area would gladly do the deal for 38,700. Are you saying 38,800 with destination from heart acura??
Two weeks ago I got MDX with NAV/DVD/touring, blue metallic, with side molding installed, all weather rugs, and wheel dead bolts at Concord,CA Acura dealership for $38250. Sent email to 3 different dealerships in the area and let them outbid each other.
I've recieved two quotes so far on a MDX Touring w/NAVI & RES; $40045 and $41180!!! The $41180 included the $570 destination, but still!! First dealer is in MD, second is in VA. (Actually, the 2nd is Pohanka, which a lot of people on here have had great success with. I'm hoping they can come WAY down.)
Anyway, Pohanka did at least discount the dealer installed items 10% off list. Not much, but it is something. Then again, if the item included installation, the price went through the roof.
I don't know why I thought this would be easier. Maybe I should drive to NY to get in on some the deals I'm reading about on here.
I haven't gotten confirmation from a dealer, but people on here are saying there is a $1500 Acura-to-dealer incentive that was supposed to expire July 4 or 5, but that Acura continued it for another month. This means the dealer gets an extra $1500 from Acura when they sell an MDX, in addition to the $1100-$1300 holdback they already get. So, it means if the dealer knows you know about it, they should be able to knock another $1500 off the price, or risk losing you to another dealership that will. So far, this hasn't worked out for me, but I'm still trying.
Are you speaking to a regular salesman, or going through the internet sales department? I believe the internet sales people will be more up front. However, you have to tell them a price up front, just to establish where you are coming from. That was my strategy, and how I got mine for $38500 from pohanka.
Keep on searching. I'm going to the dealership today in search of the elusive $38,500 price. I have about $3000 in options I want (step bars, spoiler, wood wheel, fender flares, etc) so I'm going to try to get those at H and A prices. I'm trying for a 41,000 FULLY loaded price. I'll keep you posted.................. :shades:
Both, actually. I've been talking to a regular salesperson at one dealer in MD, but have been dealing with the internet sales at several others. So far, nobody has been very responsive. One dealer in Chevy Chase MD, I've sent an exact detailed description of the car I want twice now, and he just keeps replying with things like "So what Acura are you interested in?" I don't know if he isn't recieving my e-mails, doesn't bother to read them, or is just playing a game.
If I don't get anywhere be 5:00 today, I'll start branching out to dealerships further from home. I'm not much to play games with these guys. If they don't want to do business, someone else will, even if I have to drive further to make a deal.
With Pohanka, I gave them very specific info showing them I know what they paid for the car, including the $1319 holdback and the $1500 incentive. If I don't hear from them today, I'll send them one last email, quoting $38500, and see where I get.
I think your timing may be bad for getting a really good price. Since it's the beginning of the month, dealers won't be that likely to give you rock bottom prices. I'd bet you'd get what you are asking for if you try on the last couple of days of the month...if you can wait that long.
Hi, I am new to this forum, and have read about the deals in N. Va (mostly Pohanka) - I am in Fairfax County also. What would be a good "out the door price" (from what Ive read, this includes everything? taxes, title, etc?) for an MDX Touring with DVD (no NAV)? Can a better deal be had by getting more options (ie, DVD and NAV)? I am in no rush, but would like to buy in the next 2 months or so - Ill probably wait for the end of the month to actually buy) Id appreciate others' advice. Thanks.
Got this quote from Santa Monica Acura in So Cal --
Salesperson replied to my e-mail -- "Here are your lease numbers.
Selling price: $37,829.00 Nothing out of pocket due at lease signing. Monthly payment: $548.79 plus tax = $594.07 Term: 36 months Miles per year: 15,000 Residual: 56% = $24,105.20 Money factor: .001960 thru American Honda On approved credit score of 700+." ( I have 720+)
Running the same numbers on the Edmunds calculator, I am getting $571 incl. tax
Issues: 1) I thought the resdiual / money factor I had been seeing was 63% and .00178. 2) can I apply any of the $1500 incentive toward this?
Using the better factors, I was expecting numbers towards the low $500 area incl. tax. Or is this wishful thinking? Appreciate any feedback
I was told that also, at first, when I walked into a dealership in person. However, after a couple of days of back and forth via email, the salesperson said they could do a little better with the incentive, basically admitting that it was still there. I still don't have a solid commitment from anyone on price, but I've had two different dealers agree to $38500 via email (on touring/dvd/navi w/dest), which I don't think they could do without the $1500 incentive. They may be just playing me, I should know for sure within a day.
And of all the dealers I've dealt with via email, none of them have replied back that I was incorrect in stating the $1500 incentive was still active. I'm assuming it is, and moving forward with that assumption. I'll keep you posted.
I did a lease end of last month and mine, while I don't have it in front of me I can tell you that I paid invoice, 36 months, 15K, Residual of I think around 55 or 56 and a money factor of .00178. My credit score was similar to yours. They would not give me the 1500 incentive with the lease. I tried. I think my lease payment (I have Nav and DVD) was pretty close to yours including tax in MA. give or take 10.00 or so. It looks like the residual your expecting is for a 2 year lease.
I hope that helps and i'd love to know if anyone _leased_ recently and got the car for 1500 under invoice.
2005 MDX Touring w/NAVI & RES DVD - $38,850, incl destination.
Salesperson said that, yes, the $1500 -to dealer incentive/rebate is still in effect. I tried for $38,500, and I got one other dealer to somewhat agree over email, but of course, once you walk in the door, you never know what kind of junk fees they'd try to add. I wasn't sure I could do any better, and the dealer I went with is only a couple of miles from my house and I liked the sales guy, so it seemed worth it to just ink the deal and be done. (My time is worth $$$, so shopping it around much more probably wouldn't get me much better off in the long run.)
Touring +Nav+RES DVD with the following: Wood Grain Steering Wheel.....................$499 + $96 installation Wood Grain Trim Panel............................$139 + $30 Fender Flares..........................................$669 + $86 Tailgate Spoiler........................................$379 + $100 Lower Trim...............................................$529 + $86? Side Steps (Satin Chrome)........................$625 + $100? Body Side Molding...................................$232 + $60?
Optional Equipment total ..........................$3072 + $654 = $3726 My Price...........................$41,900 If you subtract the full option cost you get a base price of $38,174! I'm sure that they just discounted the optional equipment and/or labor. There is about a $500 difference between H and A prices, and the dealers. That's not including labor. This dealer is the closest to me and other dealers said that there is no money in the deal, and can't do it. Anyone think that a better deal is out there? :shades:
What is a good price for getting the wood grain options? I cant seem to find this information anywhere, so I can learn the dealers price, etc. For example, a salesman told me he would give me accessories at "his price" (wood grain, privacy shade for cargo area), but I need to know what "his price" is! Anyone know this info or where to find it?
Does that include destination? Even if you add $570 destination to that, you still made out $100 cheaper than I did on the base car. Your options prices seem about what I paid on like items (incl installation: body side molding $269, side steps $702, steering wheel $583, but I ended up dropping that at the last minute). I know the dealer is making some $$ on the options markup, but it still seems like a pretty good deal. Just watch out for processing and other junk fees at the end, or watch for them to sell you undercoating and crap like that. They make huge profits on those items.
The $38850 is just Touring+RES DVD+NAVI plus destination ($570). Since everyone gets different dealer options, I didn't include those, although I was able to get them to come down somewhat on them. I insisted on dealing with everything as a line item so that I could make sure they weren't jacking up the price on an option or adding some ridiculous service charge somewhere.

I still haven't taken delivery and signed all the final paperwork. Until I do, I can't really comment much more. I'll let everyone know how it closes out by early next week. Also, I've got a story about my dealings with a very large VA dealer that were not very pleasant, but I'd rather wait until I take delivery before commenting any further.
So did you do the deal for $41,900? My MDX will have almost the same options but I couldn't come up with a price. Your price might be what I offer them. Where did you get the info on the installation prices?
I watched the dealer write down prices for each option as we went. The MSRP for each option I got from acura.com - (build your own). The difference between the internet price and his price was the installation. The destination cost was included only other fees will be TTL. I made that quite clear. I going ahead with the deal. I haven't found anyone to beat it. The closest was $42,400. I'm going to try to get him to throw in a cargo net also! Hey, It's $40 more in my pocket! I sign tomorrow morning.......
BTW..I couldn't find out the dealer cost on the options. I checked Consumer reports, Edmunds True cost, etc. It's a well guarded secret!
Progess8, looks like you have a great deal. Can you tell us which dealer in NYC is offering this deal? I only need the running board and body side molding options, and if they offer me the base price for touring+nav+dvd they are offering you, my deal will be couple of thousand cheaper. Please post here after you have driven your new toy home from the dealer and let us know about the closing-delivery experience -- pleasant, pulling teeth, could not wait to get out, etc.-- Thanks.
$32,600 for a 2005 MDX premium no options $33,350 for a 2005 MDX premium with autobhand, floor mats, wheel locks. - This is what I am picking up. This is around $1500 below invoice.
Call the dealers around and ask for the $1500 incentive.
Are these "out the door" prices? Ie, does the 38850 include tax, tags, destination? Or are those on top of the 38850? Im just trying to get an idea of how this all works.
Also, would it be best to try to get the lowest price without options and then add them or factor in a reasonable price for options (saw them on the Build an Acura site) into what my "price willing to pay" is? For example, maybe tack on another $1K for the wood grain to the 38850 (or whatever I can get).
Hi, I am planning to buy a MDX 2005 model next week in NJ..intrested in Touring package+DVD+Navigation..i got a price of $39200 (including destination) excluding Tax + tags..They are giving the mats and wheel locks ofcourse..
Please let me know is this ok or still i have to negotiate..? ALSO, IS THIS THE BEST TIME TO BUY A MDX OR DO I NEED TO WAIT FOR 2006 MODEL? aNY IDEA..PLEASE HELP ME !! WAITING FOR THE RESPONSES !!
Hi, Great to hear and congrats for your new MDX. There is a rumour that, the new 2006 mdx is going to change its shape entirely..is that true or can i goahead and buy 2005 model? Please guide me !! I am in dilema..also, what are the other vehicles your compared before buying MDX ?
I am looking at certified pre-owned MDX's in the NJ area. Does anyone know how much you can expect to get off the price that is listed on acura's website? I am looking at a 2003 w/navi which is listed for $29k and am wondering how much lower than that I could negotiate.
