Did you see my message #3735? I bought Touring with NAVI and RES for $35,900. last Tuesday. Price will only go lower and lower. No reason to overpay for any 2006 model. If I were not going with the 2.9% financing which supposed to end on Sept. 5 and wait a few more weeks, I bet prices will drop another $1,000. Dealers NEED to get rid of them. Good luck on your purchase.
I found this helpful so wanted to post my experience. I purchased a 2003 MDX Touring with 36K miles, NAV and RES today from an Acura dealer in the Seattle area. Car was also certified with Acura 100K warranty.
Price listed was $32,900. I paid $29,200 plus tax and fees of $140 for title, etc.
I just went to a dealer in Brooklyn (Acura of Brooklyn) and got a quote for $35,967, that includes destination, for MDX with Touring and Navigation and after some bargaining free all weather floor mats and moonroof visor. With tax (8.375%) and dmv ($224)it comes out to $39,203.23.
The thing is the dealer said they were only getting $2000 from Acura and they weren't sure if it would end August 31st. From what I read, they should be getting $2500, right? Also, they said they didn't know if it would be extended past August. Does anyone know if it will be extended into September? I won't have all of the money by August 31st and would rather wait until September to buy. Otherwise they suggested to finance the amount that I wouldn't have and pay off the loan when I got the money, which is something I don't want to do.
Based on the info I have yes you are correct it is $2,500 and I think they are being truthful they they may or may not be extended beyond 8/31.....but gut is with all the deals out there from the mid priced and premium brands I think they will extend into Sept but know way to know for sure
I purchased a MDX Touring with Navigation yesterday for the $35,677 mentioned several pages ago from Springfield Acura in NJ. They were not willing to budge from this price, thinking it was low already. We haggled for quite awhile and the best they would do was come up $500 on the trade in.
They actually didn't have a lot of selection, maybe 7 or 8 left. The person who posted the Springfield prices initially said they had a lot full of Tourings but perhaps most of them has the RES.
There may be something to the $2500 coming to an end because I'm picking it up on Saturday, September 2 and the salesmen says that was the last day I could pick it up.
Maybe they think they'll be able to sell more in the fall as people return from vacation.
Does anybody have any insight as to whether the $2,500 marketing support is going to be extended to Sept. Also, Honda Finance did not give any support on the money factor in August (like they did in July). In other words, is there going to be any special deal coming up for labor day weekend or for Sept, or is it better to buy now? I am purchasing the MDX with nav/dvd and the best price that i have got in the NY/Westchester area is $37,800 plus sales tax. Money factor is 0.00283 and residual is 52% for a 3 year lease/ 10K miles. Is anybody getting a better deal in this area?
Nice deal on the MDX! Given the 2.9% financing option, I'm trying to weigh leasing vs. buying. Given that Honda Finance's current lease terms are nothing to write home about (no promos), financing at 2.9% sounds like it could be a better option, but I wanted to see if there was anything that I was missing... can you let me know roughly how much you had to put down and can you finance the tax and license charges? Thanks in advance!
Has anyone bought one of these from the San Diego or Orange County area ? If so, how much did you pay ?
I requested quotes from all the local dealerships in SD. But their prices are either too high ($36K+) or they are not very responsive. Makes me think that they're not interested in clearing out their inventories.
I'm willing to drive up to Orange County if I can find a straight forward, no nonsense dealer who would give me a simple quote without all the B.S.
Thanks to the forum, went into the Acura of Memphis with 2 pages of different prices that I have seem in the forum. With Memphis being the "biggest small town," quickly found out they weren't going to match the low prices quoted in CA, NJ and other big cities. Did the best I could, threatened to walk out, finally settled on $35775.50 ,including destination charge, for a Touring MDX in Desert Rock color with Saddle leather, Zebra trim (my wife's choice). It didn't help since it was the only one in that color left in the lot. The dealer threw in the pin stripes, the APP (some kind of leather protection sealer), body bar, and all weather mats. Also bought the extended 7yr/100000 mile warranty for $2150 with a GRP clause to return $2100 if no warranty repair is performed in all 7 years. Also bought the LoJack vehicle recover system for $795 since Memphis is like the top city in US to have cars stolen and stuff. The paper process fee is $499. So after all that, inlcuding tax, it came to $428xx. I got the 2.9% deal for 36 months. Got an account with EmmigrantBank earning 5% interest. So it made sense to do the 2.9%.
All in all, the experience was fairly pleasant. The salesguy, finance manager, and the new car manager were all very friendly and provided good service. I feel pretty good with what I got. It is just hard to negotiate when there is no other options. The other nearest Acura dealer is 170 miles away.
Now the MDX is bought. I will move to other forums about the its performance. This forum rocks! really helped!
We are also in the market for a 2006 MDX Touring/enter/navi package. $37,800 IS a good price. Do you mind me asking where you are getting that price from?
I think $37,800 is too high. If you're in the NY area, you should go out to Springfield Acura. You need to tell them that is what has been quoted as Springfield's price. However, once you remind them, they go with the price. However, they won't go any lower.
I have some quotes for and MDX Touring w/ NAV. The lowest I have is from Tustin Acura for $35692. This included the $615 destination. Is this a good price? I got a quote from a San Diego dealer and it's $1800 more and they won't match it. So I think that the Tustin deal is the way to go.
Can someone confirm if this a deal that I should pull the trigger on?
After reading this forum for a few weeks I have finally negotiated a price of 30,568 plus tax and tags for the 06 MDX premium in the Philly area. Has anyone done better?
This is a good deal. You will not be able to do much better than that this month. Maybe if Acura increases the dealer incentive next month you'll be able to do better, but there's no guarantee they will do that.
I just started my search this week. Was quoted $39,500 for this model. The dealers appear to be anxious to deal so I hope to have better luck and get the price down a bit.
We test drove a 2006 MDX Touring with NAV and RES last week (in the NYC area) and the salesman’s first offer was $38,000 (including destination). We don’t really want the NAV so I didn’t make a counter offer. From what I’ve been reading on this board lately, they’ll probably let that vehicle go for around $37K (in this area).
There’s plenty of inventory and competition in the NYC area. We’re guessing the incentives and financing offers will improve over the next month to move the current 2006 MDX inventory (before the next-generation 2007 MDX begins arriving in mid-October). I seriously doubt the 2006 sales incentives will end on September 5th if Acura still has excess inventory to move.
Rec'd the following quote: Price - $38,000 ,$1400 out of pocket, includes $595 acquistion fee, tax, 36 months, $599 with a residual of 48% and money factor of .00207. Any thoughts? Seems high compared to some I've seen. Not sure if waiting into Sept makes sense as rates likely to go up???, but maybe marketing support will too???
I purchased 2006 MDX Touring w/Navigational/RES white pearl color including Protection package for $38,800 (destinatiton charged included) at Acura of Seattle. Actually, I can get $500 lower if I want Silver color.
I just got a quote of $31,800 from a dealer in the bay area for the '06 Acura Base Model (includes destination and roof rack). Any thoughts on whether this is a good deal?
I saw a posting on a price of $30,400 from Sunnyvale Acura. When I called them, they said have not sold the car that low and the lowest they were willing to go was $32,300 (w/dest & roof rack).
Also, is Acura planning on extending the 2.9% APR offer?
we are in Atlanta and in market for same car- the lowest we have right now is $35,124 for ACura MDX Touring. It includes about $1,600 worth of accessories like side panel, spoiler, running boards, cargo tray. However, I would pay $37,400 for Touring with Nav and DVD. Which dealership gave you that quote?
For those shopping for an MDX in the tri-state area, what's your opinion on Springfield Acura in NJ. I have a quote on an MDX Touring with Navi for $35,800. I'll be driving down from Upstate NY to get it, but I've seen a few posts with some questionable experiences there.
I don't want to waste a vacation day to have them play games with me. Any opinions/advice would be appreciated!
I have to agree. Tustin has the best deal in the SD, OC areas. Did you try Hoehn ? Escondido, Kearny Mesa, and Ball are a joke ! Kearny Mesa has the largest inventory of MDX in the SD area. That's because they're asking high prices and unable to move their inventory.
Try Hoehn and see if they'll match Tustin's offer. I have found Hoehn to be the most responsive among the Acura dealerships in the SD area.
which dealer did you get your MDX premium from? Did you get any accessory or free service agreement on top of this price? I am going to Ardmore Acura tonight. They quoted me about $200 higher than your deal.
$32,910 ( incl. Destination) Is this a good to buy? I need to trade in my car, possibly. And I will deal this when I go dealer shop. Do you have any bright idea to get a good trade in value?
I just came back from Springfield Acura and had a horrible buying experience, similar to others who posted earlier. Here is the story:
I was given a confirmed price by the Internet manager over email with EVERYTHING listed on the email. No room for error right?
WRONG! After I walked in, I was given a different sales guy because the internet manager was apparently 'busy'. We showed them the email with pricing etc. and he had to get it signed off by the General Manager.
No surprise, he came back and told us the GM rejected the deal. The internet manager is nowhere to be found. We walked out soon after.
BE WARNED - THEY HAVE NO CREDIBILITY AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY period. Buy at your own risk.
Picked it up last Saturday. All in all an EXTREMELY pleasant experience. Sales person and finance manager were excellent and very easy to deal with. $500 down, 36 months for 2.9% at the price we negotiated over the phone. I told them I never thought buying a car would be this easy and pleasant. Went to Park Avenue Acura in Rochelle Park.
I bought my MDX at Ardmore. I had gotten an internet quote from them a few days earlier. I also got a quote from Sussman Acura in Maple Shade NJ that was lower. I preferred to purchase the car in Ardmore so I called up the internet manager at Ardmore and told him the new quote-$30,668 (in his first quote to me he said they would guarantee the lowest price plus $100. So I emailed him the quote and he honored it and beat it by $100. It was easy and simple.
Here's the story about my experience with Acura of Brooklyn. I went into the dealership on a Saturday with a couple of friends and we were introduced to a sales person. This person seemed very nice. She showed us the MDX and the RDX, since I was interested in both. I decided to inquire about the MDX. I told her I wanted the MDX with Touring and Navigation in black exterior and black interior. She checked and said she had one available (and I mean just one). We sat down to start talking price. She started writing down prices on a guest sheet: 2006 Acura MDX-T-N MSRP: $43,315 Down to: $37,967 (I don't know where she got this figure from) - $2000 (from Acura - should have been $2500) Tax: + $3,012.23 (at 8.375%) DMV: + $224 Total: $39,203.23
I eventually got her to throw in a moonroof visor and all weather floor mats for free. The manager agreed to this price. I told them I wouldn't have the money until Thursday or Friday, but that I would buy the car cash. The manager tried to get me to take out a loan and pay it off when I got the money. But I said I didn't want to do that and that I would be back later in the week when I had the money.
She said ok, but call on Tuesday to make sure that I was interested in the car. I called her Tuesday to tell her I'll take the car when I get the money. She said it was her day off and she would have to check with her manager on Wednesday so call her then.
I called the next day and that's when the deal started to go south. She started by saying that the price she quoted me was for the MDX with Touring and RES, not Navigation. But since she made the mistake she would honor the price she wrote down on the paper. I thought to myself, wow, that's a really classy thing to do. BUT (why is there always a but?) she sold the one black/black that they had and she would check around to see if she could get another one. She said she would take an hour and call me back. Well, the hour went by. Then another one. I tried calling and she didn't answer her phone. I left a nice message asking if she found a black/black yet and if she could please call me back. Then another hour went by. I tried calling again and this time I got a person that said the sales lady when out and would be back in 15 minutes. I waited a half hour and called again and got another person that said she went to the store and would be back in 10 minutes. After waiting another hour I called her and left a message saying that she said she was going to call me in an hour and now it had been 4 and a half hours and that I would appreciate a phone call.
I then waited until around 1PM today to try calling again. This time I got another person that said the sales lady was with a customer. I told her that I had been waiting for the sales lady to call me back since yesterday. She took down my name and number and said she would hand it directly to the sales lady. Guess what? Yep, you got it, she never called and 5PM rolled around. I tried to call her again with no luck. Then I decided to try getting her manager. I got him on the phone and he starts telling me that the price the sales lady gave me was wrong and that the car couldn't be sold for less than $36,515. They also didn't have black/black so I would have to take a different color. I reminded him that he was there when the sales lady wrote up the price and that he tried to convince me to take a loan out to buy it. But he insisted that he didn't realize what model we were talking about. I said fine, if that's the way he wanted to do business then I wasn't going to buy the car from him.
That ended the ordeal or so I thought. Right after I hung up with the manager guess who finally calls me? The sales lady started saying sorry but the price she gave me was the wrong one and that she couldn't sell it for that (I already knew that after dealing with her manager just seconds before) and that she never said she was going to stick by her price (which is a lie). She kept saying this to me and I kept saying that we aren't going to agree on a price so it's not big deal. I just won't buy the car from her. She said she felt bad and thought that I was going to think she was trying to scam me... too late for that. Finally I just got tired of us going back and forth and said goodbye.
Moral of the story, Acura of Brooklyn was pretty shady and I would be careful going there. If you get the deal you want there I'm happy for you, just watch your back. Also, even if you have it in writing it doesn't seem to mean anything.
We purchased an '06 MDX touring at Nalley Acura for 32,900. Nor cargo tray or running boards. We dealt with the internet manager and had a great experience.
hi all...here's the quote I got for 2006 MDX Touring models is $35,127 plus accessories, taxes, and titling fees. I think it's too much by looking at what other people are paying for. Any comments and any help for me in Columbus,oh

If the price in NJ(Springfield) is 37000, is this quote very high? I think 37,800 is high.
