Very nice deal! I contacted a guy in Pohanka Acura, but he said his best offer is $33502 plus destination. Would you please mind provide me with the name of the person you contacted? Thanks in advance!

Interesting! I think we might have contacted the same person. I got exactly the same quote from Pohanka Acura. :P

Obviously, I got someone when I e-mailed the Internet pricing website at PA. I told him exactly what I am looking for to get the car to my door since I don't live on the East Coast, he replied "$48000". I didn't even bother to respond. Is it financial more advantages to wait until the 2007 to come out before buying 2006 model? I am ready to negotiate for a MDX w/ Nav, Entertainment, & $900 misc stuff. My out-the-door price from one of the s Cal dealers is 41K. I wonder how much lower I can get now vs. in 2 weeks? I am thinking that psychologically, people will rather buy 2007 model rather than 2006 when they see the new car. But it can also backfire me when the dealers are doing good with 2007 so they don't care about meeting the expectation to sell 2006. Or maybe there are a bunch of people thinking like me and wait. Any study or article out there addressing this scenerio? Any advice is appreciated.
At some point, there will be very few '06s left.. So, the selection of option packages and colors may be limited.
Also... eventually, there will be even fewer '06s left, and the price might even rise slightly, as others like yourself are still waiting for the lowest price possible.. and creating a mild competition for the few units remaining..
When does this happen, and what is the right time to pull the trigger? I have no idea.. Unless you are constantly checking on available stock at your local dealer, it will be hard to put a finger on it..
Your best bet may be to shop extensively now... and take the best deal you can get... When you are dealing with a commodity that will soon be gone, trying to squeeze the last dollar out of the price may leave you with no vehicle at all..
for me, after readin the tread, I decide to set up my bottom line as 32500 for touring or 30900 for premium model. As long as I can get it at those prices, I'm happy. If I find out others pay less, congratulations to them. However, I won't regret at all.
I don't see the prices falling too much lower. The 2007 are in a different price range, so I don't think they'll have a problem moving the 2006 models when the 2007 comes out. The prices will probably get better by a few hundred dollars at best. For the 2006 MDX+NAVI I paid $35,800 excluding assessories in July, you probable can get one for $35,300 now. Do I regret not waiting three months to save $500?...hell no!
Is anyone finding good deals in the Chicago area. I've sent out several internet requests for quotes but am not getting responses with numbers. Mostly sales talk. I'd like to narrow my search and find out what others are paying OTD. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
anyone getting any quotes for deals on new 07 MDX? I guess when it first comes out there wont be much great deals unless sales are slow. I am looking at possible deal on an 07 around Jan. hopefully deals are slow then but prob not cus its winter then and suv sell more then. better to get in summer when noones buying suv.
oh well, we'll see, we are getting a TL at that time so 2 Acuras at same time could help get better deal offers instead of just one. That is my only chance to get MDX which i'm only getting if i get great deal at same time as TL, otherwise waiting another year or 2.
Bought my silver/ebony 2006 MDX Touring + Nav over a month ago (8/31) from Power Acura of South Bay in the city of Torrance, CA. The price was $35500, doc fee $45, plus tax & T&L. No other accessories included. This was all negotiated thru internet and phone. The process was smooth and I am pretty happy with the car. Thanks for everybody sharing their information here so that I can make an informed decision.
Do you think the following is a good deal? I have yet to really bargain with the salesperson, it was the first quote he gave me.
'06 Acura MDX (no touring or nav); He offered it to me for $31,400; .00292 money factor; 36 months, 51% RV; 12,000mi/yr; I haven't discussed what the other fees are, but assuming they are the regular Acura fess (acquisition, taxes, etc.), what do you think?
I know that people have been talking about a 54% RV on this vehicle. Is this still possible this late in the model year? Also, when he gave me that offer, do you think that includes this "dealer's cash" incentive? What exactly is the "dealer's cash" incentive?
There is $2500 cash too dealers from manyfacturer for 2006 model until 10/31. Not known is dealer hold back and dealer sales volume discount for the month ending.
By the way I am also looking for MDX 2006 or 2007. So, just curious about what is RV? are you trying to lease?
Just got two offers for 2006 MDX: 1) touring with DVD for $33591 plus T&TL 2) touring with NAV and DVD for 35,888 plus T&TL. Please shed your light on these two deals and kindly tell which is better.
Dealt with Internet Salesperson (Massachusetts)on MDX Touring with NAV. Went to the dealership. Told them where I needed the price of the MDX needed to be 35.5K. Discussed what I've read on this board on all the deals in the 35s'. They are like there is no way... More like 2500 less invoice (they said this is what they paid for the car). The lowest I was able to get them before walking was 36.9k. What are the holes in their sales approach?
I paid $35600 for the same car in Boston area two weeks ago. I wonder why they want more than what most peoplea have paid. Is it the biggest dealer in New England ? Have you tried other dealers ? Do you know the status of their inventory ? Are they trying to make more as the arrival date of new MDX is pushed back ? :confuse:
Good questions. Not the biggest dealer in New England. Thought I'd start local. The manager said he was not overstocked with MDX inventory... There were around 14 at the dealership when I went in... When he said that about the inventory... it intrigued me to check out their off site holding location. 34 additional MDXs'. Interesting.
I didn't have a good experience with internet sales persons in terms of the price I was trying to get. They all quoted $37000 online as well as in person. But at that time, I was sitting on my offer of $35600, found out from this website that someoneelse paid that price and we all thought the new one is arriving on Oct 14th/15th weekend. I got that price when I almost thought I wouldn't. It also depends on whether you have a tradein. Goodluck with getting the deal.
Is a trade in considered good or bad by the dealer? I would assume good as it gives them extra profit potential. Also, when is the new MDX expected in? I had heard on the 17th. Has that changed?
They give you a better price if you have a trade in. The new MDX would be shipped out on Oct 17th, as I learnt from this site so it won't arrive to dealerships until Nov.
I'm not sure which is better, but both are better than what I've been quoted. The lowest I've been able to get is 33,777 for touring with NO DVD or NAV. What's your approach? Did you take either deal?
I got this deal in Columbus, OH. Whole process is quite straightforward. First greetings, then I showed the salesman my homework, a copy of the best offer I have. I asked him if he could match them. He smiled and go to the room of his manager. They reviewed the offers I provided and at the moment I saw they were busy with calculating sth carefully with a chart. Then he came out with smile and said his offer is $33591 for MDX touring with DVD before T&TL. I accepted this offer immediately and promise to come back buying it early this week. Yesterday I got my car. Just love it.
Thanks so much for the feedback. Proves homework is worth the effort. I'm in the process of compiling offers and info now. Hope my negotiating goes as smoothly. Thanks again for sharing and enjoy the car!
McGrath Acura of Morton Groves Internet Sales Department is selling any new model MDX for $2900 under invoice + any accessories. Most of their cars have body side moldings, wheel locks, and all season mats for like $500 but worth it if you live in the Chicago area.
I have researched the purchase of an MDX in the Chicagoland area for quuite a while and have found the best price through the internet department of McGrath Acura in Morton Grove where I purchased a car last Saturday. They will sell any MDX for $2900 under invoice + accessories and gave me "good" trade in value for my '99 Maxima. If you want the same type of deal just send in a request through edmunds. You will find that McGrath is a joy to deal with.
No money down - sign and drive Hahn finance: $795 Acq fee and $450 disposition fee at lease end.
Honda finance had lower residual which jacked up the monthly pmt by $30. Also Honda finance does not have a disposition fee and gives you a $1,500 credit towards repairs (if necessary) upon inspection at lease end. I opted for Hahn's offer. Dealer is picking up my last lease payment on current car
Hi all: How much should I expect to pay for a 2006 MDX base model as OTD (out the door) price. Only additional thing I will be interested is side step rail. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks
I got mine base model for 30695, without tax (varies state from state), or any accessories from a dealer in tristate area. That was Labor Day sale. You better factor in the finance cost, if you finance at all. Total cost of ownership is more important - work in finance and this is a second nature.
Thought I would share the info . . hope it helps. MDX Base Model with crome side steps, roof rack, wheel locks, body side molding, and body colored rear spoiler was just purchased for $32700. We live in CT and had to drive to RI(Inskip) for this price but in was about $400 less than dealers in CT /MA (Ron Bouchards Acura in Auburn) were offering (I should point out that Ron Bouchards in Auburn, MA was very rude to us and became beligerant and rude when we said we found a better deal . .bad experience. Here is a quick tip. If you are considering the 2006 MDX you had better act right now. They are goona all be gone soon and once the new models come out the prices on the 2006 may actually go up some because the dealers are only going to have limited amounts of 2007's available and they will be selling them at sticker price for at least the first 6 mos or so which starts at $40,000. So although the truck will be redesigned, you will never be able to buy a new MDX for what dealers are selling the left over's for today. FYI. Without the options listed above the price on a base 2006 MDX came out to $31200.
Happy Shopping and remember . . if you can't "steal it" don't "buy it".
The only money I am putting down is the 1st months pmt less $350 for the last month pmt on lease I am turning in plus usual documents fees and DMV fees (about $120 together). Therefore, I will have to pay $306 when I pick it up. The selling price was $33,400 and colors are limited so felt I should act now eventhough I have until Dec 10th on current lease. Judging from what others are posting here, I think this is a fair deal.
from Pohanka Acura for 31.6k OTD. The whole process was very smooth and took less than 2 hours. Another dealer in MD offered 31.8k OTD. I've already put 200+ miles on it in one day. So far so good. Thank you guys for providing so much information.
Are you aware if American Honda has brought back the special financing / interest rates. I know that they had it in September 2.9% for 36mos. Any ideas?
Does anyone know if they American Honda is going to offer the special financing going forward. They were offering 2.9% for 36mos and 4.9% for 48-60mos. I've heard through the grapevine that it may be coming back real soon . . like Nov, 1st. Has anyone heard anything along these lines?

32500 + taxes + title + fee = 35,100

Interesting! I think we might have contacted the same person. I got exactly the same quote from Pohanka Acura. :P
