Where did you get the car from? The lowest quote I got so far is $35,500+tax and license for a Silver with gray interior for an '06 MDX Touring w/Navi (no RES).
Just bought mine (Touring + Nav) in Bay Area for $35,500 (Dest included) + Tax + Lic. Finished the process in roughly 2 hours, no BS. Enjoying the car since last night, love it.
Just got the truck home. White exterior with the saddle & ebony interior. Final base price was $35,747. Including accessories (running board, cargo net, cargo cover, cargo tray), tax & license, etc, we managed to take it home at $39,900 with 2 free oil changes and 2 tire rotations.
Was that a good deal or did this crazy Filipina not haggle enough?

I'm ready to purchase the 06 MDX base model. best quote I was given is 31592. Seems good, but when I do the math: invoice (33464) + dest (615) - 2500 = 31579 which is close enough but doesn't include any holdback. quote also includes extended warranty on transmission/engine for as long as I own the vehicle as well as new tires and replacement regardless of miles. I would appreciate any advice...thanks!
Where did you buy your MDX at? How many miles were on the car when you picked it up? No one will throw in the accesories or match the price with the accesories.
Just bought an '06 MDX touring w Nav (no RES). The price was $36500 before sales tax. The car is basically loaded, so I did not add any other options (cargo net, running board, etc).
I am respecting the wishes of this board by not naming the sales person (who was fantastic), but if you're shopping in the NJ area and looking to get a good deal from people who respect your time and intelligence, I would HIGHLY recommend Denville Acura in NJ. Best experience I've had buying a car.
I just bought the MDX touring with NAV for around 35.6k (incl dest. charge). You should be able to get that deal in Boston. It seems like the ones with NAV are more popular than all other models (touring or touring with NAV/RES), so it is harder to negotiate for a good deal. I was able to get a quote for 36.5k for a MDX with NAV/RES back in August but decided to go with the NAV-only MDX.
Did you get this deal in Boston area ? Can you tell me which dealship you got this from ? I would appreciate it verymuch. I plan to buy one of those with Touring/Nav in next few days. Thanks in advance. Sapphire
Mura na iyon, I got my '04 for 40k with navi. plus 2 free oil changes and 10% discount on any accessories and maintenance. Until now, I'm enjoying my MDX. I think they are discounting 'cuz of the new '07 coming out.
Tustin. There were 64 miles on it, as it had to come from another dealership. The accessories were 20% off, except the cargo net, which was dealer's cost.
It's good to be specific when telling them what you want when you get there and basically give them a chance to fill the order. The thing though is that you can't be too detailed on the pricing in the beginning.
During the final haggling, I made it clear that I wasn't too tied to the truck, as we're still enjoying my current one. Plus, the 2007 is around the corner and it carries some pretty nice features, like the traffic link, self closing rear door, etc. After all that time they invested (I went through 3 sales people), perhaps they felt they had to close the deal, especially since they got the car from another dealership and it was an hour before closing time. It takes at least 1 to 2 hrs to go through the financing & signing part, all the manuals and some time allocated to sitting in the car/truck and going through all the buttons, bells and whistles.
i just made a deal for the base model for $32,775. now after reading your quote, i am thinking of telling them it is too high when i go to pick up my mdx on saturday. i have a feeling they are trying to low-ball me on my trade anyway. i am in new hampshire. the dealer is sunnyside acura.
Received this quote from Herb Connolly Acura in Framingham, MA. 2006 MDX Premium (Base model) $31,995. Several colors were available. Called several Acura dealers in Boston Area this was best quote I could find. Lots of inventory still available. Several dealers have over 40 2006 MDX's on the lot still! They also included free wheel locks and 10% off accessories and 2 years regular maintenance. Dealt with Internet Sales Manager. Very helpful, and professional, no pressure. My local dealer Lewis Acura in Vermont agreed to match this price but not the extras. Also dealt with the Internet sales manager there. Also very helpful, professional and agreed to get the color I wanted. Wound up getting a 2007 Pilot EX-L instead as we liked some features on the Pilot better and got a great price of $29,899 on the new Pilot. Thanks to all on this board for the great advice and suggestions.
I got quotes from 3 dealerships - seekonk, walpole and framingham and they were all roughly the same quote but i went with seekonk as they include the extended warranty and tire replacement. i added roof rack and side moulding for about 700 for a grand total of 32311. i'm filling out the paperwork today and picking up the car on sat. can't wait. good luck...
I have been quoted $34500 (incl dest fee) + TTL for 2006 MDX premium with roof rack, DVD (2 screens) and flat running boards. Has anyone else rcvd a lower quote on this combination yet?
Hi everyone. I am replying to my own post, because I'm not sure where else to post it, so here goes: i agreed to a price at sunnyside acura in nashua nh. it was 32,775 for the base model. the dealer agreed to give me 17,000 for my volvo trade (only 24,000 miles, loaded s60.) so after doing all the paperwork over the phone, etc, we left our daughter (13 months old) at home with my parents and drove 2 hours down there.
well, when we got there, they "forgot" that they offered me 17k for my car and insisted that they could only give me 15.5 (blue book is 17.6)!!!!!!!!!!!! i was LIVID. i am also 17 weeks pregnant, so i was even more furious than i would have been. when i told them to pull the email they sent to me, they did, and then told me i was right- went back to the "table" and said they couldn't offer me more than 15.5. they made me drive 2 hours, leaving my baby at home, and while i was gone ( i know this sounds like it is for dramatic purposes, but i swear it's true) my daughter said her first word- ma-ma. my point? don't ever buy from sunnyside acura in nashua, nh.
sooooooo, as we were already down there, we hit lovering volvo on the way back and bought a 2006 awd xc90. i liked the acura, would have been cheaper, and would have suited us fine. but after how they treated me, i will never buy one.
any suggestions about writing the company and voicing my displeasure? or will they really not care that i wasted a day out of my weekend? thanks!
Good for you that you treated yourself with XC 90. I think $32775 for a base model is already high anyway. People are paying between $30650 to $32000 all over the country.
I was at the dealer for my new car, they tried to sell me this protection to replace or repair tires and wheels when damaged by any road hazard, e.g. potholes, nails, metal scraps and broken glass. It is about $500 plus tax for 5 years. Has anyone bought this coverage for their cars ? Should I get it ? Thanks, Sapphire
Unless you regularly drive through junkyards, I wouldn't get it. I've had to fix two tires for nail holes over the last 15 years, total cost about $45. As an experiment you could stow $500 in a money market fund & pay out of it over the next 5 years for road hazard damage to your wheels/tires. I'll bet you'll end up with about $568.89 in your money market account at the end of the 5 years.
Autowest at Stevens Creek! I bought Navi for $35400 on 9/23, paid less than $39000 OTC, very good deal. And for Navi+DVD, their price is $36750.
If you want to buy 2007 new model, then probably you have to pay MSRP, even mark up something. So, for me, I would choose to buy old model, and buy new model 4 years later to get more discount instead of paying MSRP price.
Just bought a new MDX with NAV/RES. Planning to keep it for a while (8-10 years. I always do).
Does any one recommend spending $1800 on an "Acura Care" 8yr/100K warranty? I am leaning towards this, simply because of all the electronics involved (NAV, DVD etc.) $1800 is the chapest that I have seen on the net. Are there any cheaper third party warranties?
Bought from Rosenthal Acura. Initial quote was right in the middle of the pack. Eventually was willing to beat (the lowest) quote from a competitor in N.Va.
Pleasant experience. $3000 off invoice. No additional pressure. Backed off as soon as I said no to the extended warranty contract.
Someone recommended that you can always get the extended warranty right before your warranty is about to end. At that point, you should have a good feel for your vehicle's current condition.
I bought on 9/16 in MD suburbs of DC. Local conditions may vary. But I think in bigger cities one should be able to get atleast $2500 below invoice. May be slightly more. Keep in mind, there is a $2500 factory to dealer rebate. And so I think you should go for $36,672-$2500= $34172 or lower.
Just got a 06 premium recently. Have a question on insurance coverage. I am not an expert in insurance and don't trust agent's recommendation - they will try to upsell anyway. Just want to have an adequate coverage without paying extra. Really would like to hear others' take on selection. Here is my curreny selection:
IMO, this is just about the minimum coverage you should have... You might want property damage liability bumped up to $100K.. Ever notice how many expensive BMWs and Mercedes are around?
Here is the text of the email from Pohanka. I am sure it is not OTD pricing, but ... The following are just of few examples of why Pohanka is the World's Largest Acura Dealership:
I purchased a 2006 MDX touring w/Nav in sage pearl exterior, today in NJ. Negotiated price was $35800 . This included everything (dest, doc fee, etc. etc.), but taxes. I focused on the "everything but taxes" price instead of bargaining on every line item on their bill. The MDX had 4 miles on the ODO when I took delivery. Luv it...
Thanks to everyone for sharing their prices and buying experience. It really helped.
I apologise for forgetting to provide that important detail, guys. I bought the MDX in Open road acura of wayne. I believe you can get the same price in their new brunswick dealership as well.
Quoted $34,100 for a touring MDX (186) without NAV in Westchester county NY. This includes the $2500 dealer incentive. The MSRP was supposedly just over $40k.
I'm planning to visit Pohanka Acura since so many good prices had been reported in the past and in this forum. But I just came across a dealer rating website and the rating for Pohanka Acura is HORRIBLE. But most of the reviews were 1,2 years old. I'm just wondering whether someone here bought from this dealer recently? Are those super low numbers real?
I am about to pull the trigger on a used 2005 Mdx with 20,000 miles. The car has nav/dvd chrome sidesteps, spoiler, body side molding. $31,500 before taxes.
I just purchased a MDX Touring today and the experience was very good. The internet sales guy was pleasant and professional to deal with. No problems whatsoever, would recommend.

Does it inlcudes the destination as well ?
The 2007 MDX prices are out (check edmunds.com). And so, may be this low price of $32300 is a reaction to it.
The following are just of few examples of why Pohanka is the World's Largest Acura Dealership:
07 RDX WITH NAVIGATION $33,165*
06 TL NAVIGATION AUTOMATIC $29,970**
06 TL NAVIGATION $30,100***
06 MDX TOURING $32,300****
06 RL $39,400*****
I'm guessing destination isn't included in any of them... Still dirt cheap, even if you add $1000 in miscellaneous charges..
