Good Luck.
I realize I could get touring or more for the price of the accessories, but have a picture of what I want the car to look like in my mind..... I had been in a showroom and they had an MDX all decked out with the accessories I mention above (with the exception of the tow hitch which we need for boat hauling). I fell in love with the souped up look. there's nothing in the touring models (with exception of RES) that I really want so I am putting the extra money into accessories.
the best I have been able to do so far is accessories at 80% of listed price - I suppose there is still a fair bit of markup in them even at this discounted price.
thanks again for the feedback.
The purchase is going to have to be put off for a month. I was about to buy a MB R500 for all of the accessories that the MDX has standard (NAV, satellite radio, ...) for $50K, but the third row does not lie flat like in the SUVs; the seat portion of the third row folds so that it is perpendicular to the rest of the seat. It takes away about 25% of the usable space. While it has more cargo space by volume, you can't use it. It was an awesome car and it distracted me from buying the MDX in July.
In any event the best price I had gotten was from Pohanka, but that was almost 3 weeks ago. I believe it was around $36K for the Touring with just the NAV.
What was your experience?
I am new to this forum.
Is the $2500 incentive to dealer for MDX going to continue in August also?
Also, is $38000(inclusive of destination)a good price for MDX touring with NAV and DVD.
Thanks
The reverse for us...we can buy anywhere and not pay tax, but there is a big registration tax in NH.
We bought an MDX Touring over the weekend, after much reading and research here. There are very few dealers in NH and only one in VT, so it's not at all competitive and we ended up driving 4 hours to Curry Acura in Scarsdale, NY where Acura dealers are thick on the ground, have lots of inventory and are motivated!
For the record we bought for approximately invoice plus destination, less $2500; $34150, including all season mats.
Nice people to deal with. A long drive but I don't mind a day on the road to save $3000+.
I want to thank all of you who post here for the very helpful info.
Not sure the 2,500 extends into August. Better check quick, since the dealer told me the deal above was only good through today (although may have been a ploy).
I am in NY.
The price quoted to me is 38000+tax+DMV+45+16+12.50
Dealer will not tell whether the incentive will be extended to August.
Can you tell me which dealership gave you this fantastic OTD price of 39K in Houston area? Thanks. Did you do it through their Internet Sales manager?
- MDX 4WD Touring with Nav (model 188): $35,357
- MDX 4WD Touring with Nav & DVD (model 189): $36,662
I'm still holding out for August to see if there would be better incentive.
The difference reflects the $2,500 Marketing Allowance that was available in July.
Hopefully, a new incentive will be forthcoming when then July sales figures are in.
I did find two dealers (one in NC and one in GA) that quoted $34,900 on an MDX Touring but I'm not ready to buy untl early September.
Good people to work with....Just took one hour to complete all the paperwork.
just want to let you know that I think you did quite well on the accessory prices... I also bought an MDX on 7/31. I bid aggressively at 5 different dealerships and went with the one who not only had the lowest price on the car but also the lowest initial cost on accessories (AND this dealership gave me 20% off on all the accessories I ordered - none of the other dealerships would budge on their accessory prices).... BUT, the bottom line is, even though I got the best price I could manage, you still did better by $121 on your accessory prices.
I purchased a base model with the following accessories:
body side moldings, chrome side steps, towing package, roof rack, tailgate spoiler, all weather mats, and remote starter.
I think the car is going to look fabulous (won't pick it up until Thursday). I was also able to get my first color choice which was Amazon Green. CAN'T WAIT!!!!
congratulations on your car. I think you got a great deal.
Do you guys think this protects the car effectively? How much should I expect to pay? Thanks
Also asked around and many dealers told me the factory/dealer incentive is still available, though I couldn't get a consensus as to the amount.
Unfortunately, I play by the book with the premium gas requirement. I don't like to pay the premium price (especially now), but I don't want to do anything that might impede its performance.
For those who bought their MDX in the Bay Area, do you know if the 2.9% for 36 mos is still available or you just get the $2500 off and that's it? Thanks
Is it possible you give us the name of the saleman that help you at LosGatos acura? That's is a very good deal 36,692 for 06 Touring with Nav and DVD. Were you able to get the 2.9% for 36 mos as well? I'm planning to buy within a week. Thanks a lot.
The 2.9% is available for 24 & 36 months. 60 month is %4.9. Insist on getting it since the financing promotion is by Acura (for the MDX only) and not the local dealer. If the dealer says you can't get that rate, then just walk out.
I do expect them to be more deperate to clear out the MDX as the year end comes closer each month. All Acura dealers seems to have a lot of MDX left in their lot, I believe on the average is 30 MDX per dealership.
Los Gatos is not a cheap place to get car. So I don't believe you can get a 188 model (Touring + Nav) for 34K like someone has posted. 2 weeks ago, I was quoted (in person) by the Fleet person at LG for $37300 for the 189 model, there was no ground for deal there.
I'm poor, so I'll only buy it when it's a real good deal

I have a quote on a MDX Touring (no dvd, no nav system) in Pennsylvania for 33,123 plus tax and tags. I am just starting my new car research and am wondering if that appears to be a good deal. The financing also is 4.9% for 4 or 5 years.
Thanks.
Also, don't bother talking to the sale persons when you want the quote. I always called up the dealership, or showed up at their front desk, and asked for the Fleet Manager directly. (I never needed to know the name of the Fleet Manager until the person came out to see me
If you call and the Fleet Manager is not there, don't even bother to talk to anyone else, cuz they will hand you over to a car sale person (who has no ideas, seriously). Just asked for when the Fleet manager will be back adn try to reach him/her again.
Good lucks.
