I'm in the market for a '07MDX w/sport & RES in a few months. Wanted to see which dealer I should start with for a decent deal. Any feedback on which of the following DFW area dealers are good to work with:
Goodson Acura (Irving) David McDavid Acura (Plano) Mac Churchill Acura (Ft Worth) Vandergriff Acura (Arlington)
I did a search, but didn't see any previous posts about experiences with any of these locations. Thanks!
I live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and am looking at getting an MDX with Tech and Ent packages. MSRP is $46,365 and invoice is $42,095. I've got one quote at $500 under MSRP. It sounds like (from this forum) that I should be able to do better. There are only 2 dealers in my area.
I'm willing to travel anywhere east of the Mississippi to get a great deal. I would appreciate very much any recommendations from the readers. Please include the dealership name, city and state.
hhpn - I don't understand your posting. What do you mean by "nonsense number"? How is it nonsense if we're sharing what we've paid, especially if it helps others? Are you not doing the same thing we're doing?
Maybe it's just me... does anyone else get what he/she is saying?
Mike - Sure, just email me and I'll send you the info. My dealer/friend kinda went out on a limb with some stuff, and I don't really want to publicize the place without his OK, but am happy to refer you privately. My email is wondermel@gmail.com. If all your dealer is giving you is $500 off, it's a ripoff!
I totally agree with you, blazinginder! We had a negative experience with the location in Wayne. A few things happened to us: 1) Internet salesperson offered us a price in an email. We drove out there to take them up on it. They rescinded saying that their internet salesperson (their excuse: their internet salesperson doesn't know the prices.) So offer was no good and they gave us a much higher price. 2) We escalated it to the manager who said even if we had proof, they couldn't match it because they'd lose money on the deal. Since they have a "Price Guarantee" policy, they said they'd need a buyer's order as proof and they'll honor it (their website says "If we can't beat it, you get $200. Period"). 3) It's not true. We brought our buyer's order from another dealership. Then they said they COULD beat it, even though they at first said they couldn't. So we wasted two trips and lots of time for nothing but frustration.
If you don't want attention and don't care about service, go there. If not, shop somewhere else.
Thanks Mckomer, that gives me better perspective. By the way, I am trying to finalize a deal for ~$3,300 off of MSRP for the 2007 MDX with Tech. and Entertainment packages...I will let you know if/when I finalize it.
I am in Cincinnati as well and in the market for the same car (Tech and Entertainment pkgs.). I have looked in Atlanta, Chicago, Indy, Columbus and Cincinnati and the markets are tight. I do think I am close to closing on a good deal (over $3,000 off MSRP) though. Once I do, I will let you know more and give you the ins and outs of what I did.
Thanks for the reply. I'm really interested in how you are doing. Is the dealer you are working with in the Cincinnati area? When do you think it will be finalized?
Did you end up making the purchase? I am in the same shoes, but having a heck of a time in Denver finding anyone to move more than $500 off MSRP. Where did you have the best experience?
i meant people keep telling about what they paid for, well, 2000, 3000 off msrp may be the case, but the dealer will jack up other things, the bottom line of what you paid (drive out) is more important to me, hope i dont offend you. and also take supply and demand into consideration, it depends on where you live too, have a good day MCKOMER
I acutally have two that are responding favorably to what I want. One is in the Cincinnati area, and one is not. The other dealers I have spoken with, especially in Atlanta, will not move much beyond $500 off of MSRP, but the two I referenced earlier have been very responsive. I should finalize within a week and I will let you know who it is and what kind of deal I was able to negotiate.
hhpn - Ah gotcha... and of course an out-the-door cost is really what matters but I think to keep comparisons fair and to make this forum useful, we have to also talk $ off MSRP because not everyone gets the same options and state tax is different for us all. I hear what you're saying about dealers jacking up other costs, so maybe it's a matter of talking about the before-tax price. That's probably more apples-to-apples.
And of course, regionality is a big factor (I'm in Northern NJ.) No offense taken -- I just don't agree that it's a nonsense number as you said, but hey, to each his own.
I just purchased an '07 MDX Sport w/RES, Silver/Black, for $45,000 even, which is either ~$3500 off MSRP or $1000 over invoice, whichever is your favorite way to look at it. This includes destination charge but not TTL. The dealership is in Lancaster, PA, and the internet sales manager was very pleasant and easy to work with. We agreed on price before I even got to the dealership. The only remaining issue is getting fair value on my trade. I have been low-balled at a couple of dealers, so I am looking into selling it to CarMax or some other type of Auto Superstore. Feel free to contact me for the name of the sales person.
Just wondering did you purchased the MDX with Sport & Ent. pkg? How much did it cost you? I just started shopping for the same car. I'm down south in southern cal. Any info on pricing you got should help me. Thanks, -M.
One of my friend told me last night that he got brand new 2006 MDX touring for 33K in october 31 st 06 in Dallas. It sounded like very good deal. During that time new 07 model coming to the market and dealer wants to close it as early as possible. Can I expect the same price now for 06 models? Dealers advertising price is nowhere close to 33K.Is it wise wait till october again to similar deal...Any suggestions are appricated.

What was the dealership name in Lancaster. I live in Maryland and everyone is 2G off of MSRP and then closer to DC or Annapolis the more expensive it is. What kind of financing did you wind up with.
Anyone know how to determine dealer stock in a region/state without actually going to each and ask.
I agree that $ off MSRP mkes sense to discuss but another issue is financing deals. And yes it depends on soooo much, like your credit history. But sometime there are really good deals on finacing also.
I am looking for a MDX with Tech and RSE.
I recently saw MDXs with a burgendy interior which I did not see on the website. this looks very nice anyone with info they would like to pass along.
The name of the dealership is Jones Acura. I'm paying cash, so I can't comment on the financing. They had to transport in the exact car I wanted since they didn't have it on site.
I have just purchased an 07 MDX with Tech for 42 700 (1500 below MSRP) at Niella Acura in Carmichael -- what do you guys think? I don't think this is a good deal, but would welcome your input.
what makes you think that there are 2006 MDX available. anyone who is looking for an 06 Acura now is a bottomfeeder. People must think that Acura is like Ford and carry leftovers. Acura vehichles are all sold out. The previous body style MDX is a hot seller in the used car market these days...
Well now I know why CA prices aren't anywhere as low as some parts of the US like the North East.... I heard through a few people in the know, that Acura loaded up the dealers there with tons of MDXs because of the higher demand for all wheel drive vehicles in the snow. I was wondering why all the posts with $2-$3K off MSRP seemed to always be in states like PA, MA and NJ!
I wish they'd send some down to Cali, none of the dealers here seem to have many in stock.
I'm in NJ and am planning on getting an 07 MDX Sport pkg...I've been able to bring dealers all the way down to $42070-$42500 (including dest. & handling)...but obviously my area has the cars stocked up for the winter so there is much more price haggling room.
The leather color you're looking for is Bordeaux...its available only with the white, cream, and black exteriors...for some reason they don't show it on the Acura site :confuse: but I have a brochure and have spoken with my sales rep and he confirms that it is available :shades:
I agree with you completely regarding their customer service...they pay you no attention and are not pleasent to work with, I'm working with DCH (the highest volume dealer in NJ) and my local dealer to get the price down...I have been able to get $42070-$42500 on the MDX Sport which is basically a couple hundred above invoice.
I got 2000 off for Sport + RES (back in Dec). I spent 30 mins negotiating with just one dealer. I see people getting anywhere between 1000 to 3000 off - good for them. I just run back to my MDX, put on the music and go for a drive
I can (and am planning to) get a new 2007 Acura MDX Sport Black/Boredaux for $41735 (including $670 Destination)...which amounts to $4530 off MSRP...what do you guys think...is this the best deal anyone's got ?
I went through several rounds of price quotes w/ local dealerships asking them to beat the lowest price I'd get after surveying their fleet managers/internet sales people for a week.
Started in mid-Jan & expressed that I was a serious buyer in the last couple days of Feb. Best quote was $480 above invoice for the exact color exterior/interior '07 Sport (w/ Tech) & Entertainment packages, that I wanted. They probably made $1K+ if you figure in 2% of MSRP for dealer holdback.
I think prices may come down more as time goes on, but I think I got the best deal at the time I was looking. Most dealers refused to meet or beat the price I bought it at. Inventory of Sport/Tech/Entertainment MDX's is still somewhat tight w/ dealers only having 1-2 or none at all. I guess they figured they can always sell the car in March for more $ as the weather gets warmer.
This is the month I'll be buying an MDX. Anybody out there with recent purchase/lease experiences in Seattle? According to their websites Lynnwood has the smallest inventory and Hinshaws has the greatest.
No accessories included in that price...but being that the car is basically for invoice...I'm willing to pay the msrp for the accessories I want...those being the roof rack, body side moldings, wheel locks, all season floor mats, fender-front-rear garnish's, cargo tray, and some other things...which come out to $2k
I went two weeks back and forth with three dealerships: the best quote came in at $42,195 - so SouthCoast beat it by $200. I added roof rails, side molding, chrome rails, and auto dim rear view mirror for an additional $1,400: total purchase $43,400. I'm happy, but if I pushed, probably could have gotten it for $43,000. $2,000 over invoice isn't bad and isn't great - they do have to make a living and the model is only a few months old (price we pay for the latest and greatest). I would recommend: Stephen Oh was the salesperson.
It's good, but you probably could get a some more off - I talked my dealership down to $41,995 and probably could have gotten them down to $41,500 or $41,000 if I wanted, but what's a few hundred dollars on a 40K car over the life of the vehicle. Happy shopping - it's well worth it - I'm enjoying mine (had the volvo XC90 before)

I know exactly where this is. Who did you speak with, where they easy to deal with?
My wife just bought a RDX from Ellicott City and got a good deal/ dealership was easy to work with but their price on a MDX is solid at 2G below MSRP
Your email is private. Send me your email and I'll send you the specifics 'cause I'm not allowed to post that info on the forum.

Thanks n advance.
:confuse:
Could have gotten silver on taupe for $35,936 but already have a silver car at home.
Last day of the month and it has been a very cold and freezing Feburary. Dealers have to make the numbers.
Invoice was $36,936 including freight.
I wish they'd send some down to Cali, none of the dealers here seem to have many in stock.
A few hundred dollars over the course of time you keep a new vehicle priced over 40K is not a big deal, IMHO.
How much did you get yours for?
