Any tips here on how to treat it when you drive it off the lot? I've read to keep changing rpm but is there any other tips on breaking it in? Drive it a lot or not much?
  • brian125brian125 Member Posts: 5,244
A lot of new vehicles dealers will tell you vehicle wont need to break in. Maybe so. I'm still old school on this one.

What I like to do with any new vehicle I purchase is the 1st 500 miles .............. take it slow , change speeds keep it under 65mph , give the brakes / rotors ample time to break-in without hard stopping.

For me it became available when I used the Edmunds PricePromise feature. If that doesn't work, maybe try contacting Edmunds?

Is anyone getting any amazing deals in LA, MS, TN or AL?

Yesterday, I just bought 2015 honda accord LX seden with out door price $20853 from paul Miller NJ. and had 0.9 Apr for 60 month.
Actually I had agreed deal with 23 HOnda, NJ because they negotiater with me first, so I decide give them a chance, but once I visit 23 honda, they start change their OTD we agreed on email, want extra money for NY resident tax, so I left, and want to my original dealer who give me the same OTD quote first which the quote also based on NJ tax, but once they know I am NY resident, they won't mind, and kept their promised on out door price, So this is my second time bought honda accord from Paul Miller Honda, NJ. No hide fees after all.

I am looking for a 2015 Accord EX 4 door with a 4 cylinder. The best price I have found is $23,000 plus tax, title and document fees. I believe others have paid this for a EX-L.

I keep trying to find a Edmunds $500.00 coupon with no luck. :(

You may be able to do ~$400-500 better but you have a pretty decent deal now.

    Terry,

If this is EX - you can do at least $2000 better. I got my EX CVT for 20,750+TTL with honda financing.

Is your quote for an EX-L by any chance?

No the price I received ($23,000) was for a EX with the 4 cylinder. I have shopped 3 local dealers. I am hopeful someone can give me some advice where they have gotten a great deal within 300 miles of me and I will travel to get a great deal. I am in MS.

    Hi Moderator / Friends,
How much the best sale price for 2015 Honda Accord LX in NY (excluding Tax and DMV fees). ?
I just got a quote (sale price) = $19000 + TAX and DMV in NY.
based on svinayagam (from Georgia) Sale price is (17900 + 600= $18500),
    any quote from NY ?
any flex cash / rebate for 2015 Honda Accord LX in NY ?
what would be the best sale price in NY ? Thanks!!!

I would not buy it if I were you. Look for dealerships within a 150 mile area. I did that and was able to use that to negotiate a better price with the local dealer. Last time I bought a car, I traveled to a place that was 130 miles away as it was worth the extra $1000 savings.

You currently have a pretty good price. If you bargain and wait, you may be able to shave off another $200-300. Not worth it if you have a strong color preference.

Hi, i am shopping for a 2015 Honda Accord ex-l  & followed the steps outlined here calling several dealers around Dallas. Only 4 out of 13 responded over phone with lowest quote  @ $23,512 including destination or $25,360 OTD including taxes, doc fees & title. None of them are ready to provide quote over email and want me to come in. I do have the edmunds coupon as well but not confirmed if it will be accepted yet. Is this a good price? Thanks in advance. Great forum with tons of info - thanks to all the contributors.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Was wondering if this is a good deal?

    2015 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 w/o Nav
$26k sale price before taxes and reg (~10.5%) so looking at maybe $28.8K OTD.. includes the Pro-Pak (splash guard, trunk guard, wheel lock) as well as a security system and free lifetime oil changes (the hook is other other regularly scheduled maintenance needs to be done there too).. supposedly valued at $995 which I find hard to believe.

Another dealership offered $25k e-price before taxes and reg but none of the extras.. so this would appear to be the cheaper price, although I guess it really depends on how much they're willing to offer me for my trade in? The sales guy's guess was $1-2k without actual appraisal; while the other place provided a firm $3k offer (180k miles).

Would appreciate any thoughts. Thank you!
  • yajiv01yajiv01 Member Posts: 16
Thanks brian125. I went in but ended up walking away since my trade in came in $3k lower than KBB & dealer tried to switch prices agreed over phone. After some haggling, they offered price agreed over phone, but would not budge on trade in which did not work out for me as a deal. @terrypm1, it was Huggins Honda, sales mgr was Mike/Woody. I also got quotes at $23600 + TTL from Vandergriff Honda (Sales mgr Shack) and Honda of Fortworth (sales mgr Jonathan) @ $23698 + TTL As for edmunds I had to try several times with different browsers. Firefox was that worked for me.

    Hi folks,
I've got a deal on the table for a 2015 EX-L V6 W/Nav out the door priced at $28,559 (Car: $26,335, Fees: $489, Taxes $1735). Thoughts as to whether this is a great deal or just an okay one? Also does anyone have insight into what the Honda incentives will be after tomorrow (deal says current structure expired at end of day tomorrow). I realize prices on the 2015s will continue to decline as dealers try to burn them off, but how much will the realistically go down beyond 20% off list?

Over the phone trade in quotes hold no weight. Dealers will high ball you to get you in the dealerships. A buy and trade like your doing should be handled separately. Make no mention of a trade yet.

Get 3 or 4 lowest offers in your buying area radius then go to each one to see who gives you a fair trade in price.

Dealers wont benefit from your 180k vehicle sell it private or be prepared to take a loss.

All that's left is tax. I'm trying to figure that out and any help would be great. Does dealer charge tax on car or do they also charge tax on doc fees?

In Minnesota, the dealer documentation fee is a non-taxable item. I don't know the answer for CA., but if it is, that amount to about $7.00 -- have them deduct another $7.00 from the selling price to make up the difference.

Thanks Brian! I used your technique and it was the easiest new car purchase I ever made:
    2015 Accord EX-L V4/no Nav
    OTD price: $24,500
Purchased in LA so Taxes/Tag Paid in MS
    Tax:$1,225
    Tags: $350

Is this real life... You are telling me you got the EX-L for $24,500 OTD - 1225 - 350 = $22,925 before TTL?? Holy smokes
I think you're reading that different than the way it was intended to be read. It looks like the selling price was $24,500.00. The rest was paid locally Mississippi. I might be wrong, but that how I'm reading it.

    Hello Brian
I need your help.. I'm buying a car tomorrow and I'm really stressed out. In the market for a 2015 Honda Accord EX-L in southern CA.
Carson Honda 24,291 including destination charge -26, 861 out the door. The problem is they only have a metallic left and my heart is set on black. I found a black one at Norm Reeves Honda quoted 24,169 plus tax and license. I don't want any extras...I also seen on this forum that people are paying extra for remote starts.. I thought that was included.. Are any of these good deals?? Should I try to go lower??? Also is it too soon to try to get a good deal on a 2016??
Thanks so much for your help.

I don't know about your area, but have seen prices on this forum that is at least $500 -$1000 lower (see from page 33 onwards) +TTL (OTD prices around $25000-$25500). Hope this helps.

    Karen...............................Both deals are excellent .

If your heart is set on the black Accord tell Norm Reeves to match the other dealer and you will buy it today. I'm sure they will come down off the quoted price for the sale if they know your buying that day.

That's a good sign. When are you going to pull the trigger on a 2016.

Start testing the waters in Nov, then hold out making your best deal right before the new year.
