Just agreed to buy a 2015 Accord EX for $21,290 + TTL - $500 down payment assistance.  So $21,290 +TTL = approx $23,357 then minus $500.  OTD is approx $22,857.  It is a nice deal I think.  No accesories.

    I am in Sacramento Ca.

I bought a 2015 Accord LX for $19890 (including destination fee) + tax + doc fee in So Cal. OTD was approx. 21900. I thought that I had a great deal. After reading the Edmunds forum, I am impressed by all the amazing deals that the users closed. I began to think that my deal is not necessarily a great deal...

Did you get the $500 down payment assistance from Honda?

Looking for Accord Sport CVT in Los Angeles area. Any dealer recommendations? Also, I can't find the Down Payment Assistance code on Edmunds. Tried refreshing the page several times. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Don't need code.  Call any Honda dealer and ask them abt the $500 Down payment assistance.  The dealers should know by now.

Unfortunately not all do. Mine doesn't know about it--or at least isn't letting on that they do.

I suggest you get a price quote from a dealer and then ask about the $500 down payment assistance.  This $500 should be off the OTD price of the quote.

    Guys,

Just got done buying my Accord and think I got one of the best deals out there imho. Here are the details:

2015 Accord EX-L V4 (non navi) with Wheel Locks and all season mats
Sale Price (negotiated through email) = $23,480
    Doc Fee = $279
    Registration/Plates = $135
    MA Taxes = $1484.94
    Total = $25,378.94

The above was financed for 0.9% over 60 months. Here is where it gets interesting. My dealership actually had a $750 rebate for financing the EX-L (both with and without navi). In addition to that, I got them to apply the Edmunds $500 coupon. No mess, no fuss. My finance guy came right back and applied the total $1250 towards my total.

Final OTD = 25,378.94 - $1250 finance rebates = $24,128.94. My monthly payments for 60 months works out to $412 but I fully intend to pay it off within the year to get the most pennies out of my deal! Man am i glad I waited till this weekend!!

Is this for real? This is an incredible price for this car. I have been trying to buy the same car in the MA area for the past month and never got close to this price (even the $23,480 you got quoted by the dealer). Mind asking what dealer this is? @brian125, what do you think of this deal?

Tom what numbers are you at right now in MA. Dealers with little to no inventory might not sell as low as the dealer with more stock.

You cant look at other states thinking you could net the same price. It would be great to secure that price but not feasible in your area and in most states. Above mentioned deal is @ $3336 below invoice minus dealers doc fee. . A one incredible deal for a Accord and best price I have ever seen for this time of the year.

I never made a deal for a Accord that low. Usually in August and taking advantage of dealer incentives my best price was about 2600 below invoice minus dealers doc fee........ (MD. area )

Is this for real ? I don't know???? A few buyers in CA and another area' ( not yours ) secured a deal around the 3k below mark minus doc's.

    Hey Tom,

My deal was made after about a solid 3 weeks of grinding down pricing from dealer to dealer. I basically followed Brian's advice on pitting all dealers within 50 miles of me (I am in the greater boston area) and getting them to lower each other's pricing. All of this was done over email and I never gave out my phone number to a single dealer, neither did I talk to any of them on the phone until the day before I purchased. The dealer I got the above deal from (Honda Cars of Boston) matched and beat a written email quote from Herb Chambers. The $750 cash down incentive from Honda literally came in the afternoon of the day I planned to visit the dealership. So when I called them, they mentioned it and I jumped on it. Then, after all negotiations and deals were done, I asked them about the Edmunds $500 discount and they applied it right away.

The best sale prices I saw in the boston area ranged from $23,480 (my lowest quote) to about $23,700 (my second lowest quote). The one variable was dealer doc fees. The big dealers in the area (Boch, Bernardi, Herb) all charge over $350. Just some more info for you. Hope it helps!

Received offer for my '07 ex cvt sedan, 105k miles, for $8300. Ready to buy, now and received quote for $20638 for '15 ex cvt sedan, which includes destination. A closer dealer, Schaumburg Honda, promised price match but breached on their promise. Planet Honda in Matteson promises to beat any valid quote by $200, which they've breached, also. Is this something to be reported (attorney general) for deceptive sales practices? I'll submit my dealer name for received quote, after my purchase. It's within a 15 mile radius of Schaumburg

Have you made the purchase? Please let me know the dealer name if you are done with the purchase.

    Hi @brian125

The best I can do is $23,900 so far from Boch Honda. They are doing $500 flex incentive right now so I guess thats something. Still nowhere near @gohan_d1 and his deal. Will try to follow his advise though. Anyone else get an EX-L for this low around here or is this an outlier, once in a year kind of price?

Would it be any use waiting for Labor day sales or is this weekend/today as good as its going to get for the accord?

    Hi,
Delurking from MA. I read this whole thread over the past few wks, then purchased this past weekend from Boch Honda: 2015 EX-L Accord Coupe, 4 cyl no navi, They quoted a price of 22,950 but that included flex incentives so the actual breakdown was: price $23,700, doc fee $389 +tax/tags -$750 flex cash.

This was a EX-L coupe purchase, so may not directly compare to the EXL sedan.

Also, this was not Boch's initial offer, Honda Cars of Boston had the lowest first bid. But when I told Boch the price specifics (I left out the part about Honda Cars not having the right color car in stock), they lowered their price. I didn't negotiate much - I sent my initial inquiring emails out Friday, and got my final price Saturday morning.

So much appreciation for this thread, this made me feel as comfortable going into the process as could be expected. I hate negotiating, which had a lot to do with why I wrapped things up so quickly.

If your $23,900 is for a EXL model

You have a great deal on the table @2916 below invoice minus dealers 389 doc fee. There could be Numerous factors why @gohan_d1 made a lower deal.

On that day dealer had more exl models?

On that day dealer need one more sale to reach there incentive?

On that day buyer negotiated skillfully leading dealer to believe he had a better deal?

Don't get caught up in who made best price . You target a area and make your best deal at months end or wait another month if pricing is to high.

You have a excellent deal on the table for Aug, don't lose it thinking you may get the same deal as another.

Has anyone here bought a 2016 yet? I'm potentially in the market for a 2016 EX in Louisville, but I may need to wait a while until prices come down.

Thanks @brian125. I know its easy to fall into the comparison trap so I will try to just concentrate on my deal :) You mentioned a few times that the deal is good for Aug or around this time of year etc. Will there be a time in September or later where even better deals can be had on a new 2015 (provided inventory lasts)? Just out of curiosity, what is the lowest you have seen for a new 2014/2015 EX-L and what time of year was that? I am not really in any hurry to by the vehicle.

I cant remember in all the years buying/ negotiating Hondas when pricing has been this good in July/ August.

Dealers could lose incentive money next month and these prices where seeing in some states will go back down . If you read last years posts buyers in here were getting nowhere near these prices even in Nov. and Dec. If your blessed with a good state and pricing ( MA, MD, VA, CA ) take the deal and run. You wont do much better holding out. especially you guys with deals at 3k and plus below invoice. Enjoy it.!!!!!! Honda goes in cycles with pricing . Next year every one will be pulling there hair out again with the 16 model. .

Is the 20,638 with or without the $500 downpayment assistance for Honda financing? If Honda $500 is applied on that price, you have a killer deal!

Accord EX-L No Nav (Northern VA)

22480 - told him I wanted 22,500 (never thought anyone would take it)
    820 freight
    750 flex(yes plus)
    499 DOC
    1006.51 tax doc
    62.75 title
    41.73 dealer tax
    ==============
    25,659.99

BUT financed it and they paid the 750 down payment
    -750
    ==========
    out the door at
    24909

And the car had some dealer ad ons (that I didnt care about)
Didnt pay for any of the following thou the car has it:
Trimmaster package 490(pinstripe, door edge guard and fender wheel trim)
    Wheel Locks 195
    Permaplate protection 399

What I found really odd was the starting price included freight, but then they added freight again. So they adjusted the discount to subtract out one of the freights. Guy wanted nothing to do with the $500 edmunds coupon, told him I'd split it with him if he coudl get it to work.

    dulles, va

NEVER talk to them, there is NO point to it. If you know what car you want keep them in email. It documents everything so you can study it. These guys(salesmen) could sell ice to eskimos.

I was heading home from work, I wrote ah honest email telling them of the best deal I had seen online and asked them to beat it by 800 to close the deal. Never thought they would accept it but had an email within 15 mins asking if I could be there that night.

The contract is a maze but the bottom line was what they agreed to. I dont get what they got out of charging me twice for freight and adding 750 flex just to subtract it again later.

PRO TIP: put the downpayment on a credit card...2 % cash back is just icing.

No.. it's dealer cash, which results in a lower selling price = less tax

starting to shop 2015 Accord LX in Tennessee. So far best price:

    Vehicle: $19,187
    doc fees: $598
    taxes: $1620.70

    otd: $21,405.70

i would like to get to $20k or under OTD. Do u think this is possible if I wait until end of the month?

Your deal is : the same day as yours otd 21,000 (19487 +1500 for tax and registration)

$2599 below invoice minus 598 doc = 2001 below invoice. Another $1400 off vehicle price will not happen.

If you play hardball and negotiate thru till months end you may save a few more dollars.

The very high doc fee charge may be your only room for negotiating on this deal. .

Drove home 2015 Accord LX yesterday

    Vehicle: 17,900
    Doc Fee: 599.50
    Sales Tax: 1339.18

    OTD: $19,881.68
