I'm posting first time to this forum because I have benefited from reading it and would like others to take the advantage also. Drove home today 2015 Accord EX-L no Nav at $24400 OTD including TTL in northern VA.
Called few dealers in the last few days, stick to a lower price paid in this forum and asked dealer to beat it. Dealer quoted competitive price over the phone, a little higher than what I asked to beat but when I finally showed up at the showroom, he improved the price and beat what I had earlier asked.
Excellent interaction, no surprise, no issue at all. Financed at 0.9% for 5 years. One of the best experience so far. Good luck everyone, it's great car with some great savings.

Good job and price. . Can you give us the selling price with or without the destination charge so we could see how good of a deal you made. OTD pricing is a guessing game when you don't disclose dealers doc fee charge and your states taxes and dmv fee's . Every state has different tax rates and doc fee's making OTD numbers different in each state.

Post your lease questions in Accord lease forum. Acq fee has to be paid with processing fee or dealers doc fee charge. Depending on your area's supply and demand on the 15 models will determine if you could save a few more dollars. Negotiating at the end of the month will help you make the best deal. but you risk losing your model or color if supply is limited.

I got a quote today in Fredericksburg, VA

    2015 Honda Accord LX CVT - $17777

They said: The fees for processing is $ 599.00 plus Va state fees and titling fees

Sound good? Great? Push for lower price? It's the best price of about 8 places I emailed this morning.

*removed 2016 quote, the person emailing doesn't have the greatest English, misunderstanding*
  • nebenosnebenos Member Posts: 4
Correction, they came back and said the manual is $17,777, the CVT is $18,507, which is similar to 3 other quotes I received. Seems everyone, from Richmond to north VA is quoting about $18,500 to $19,000. Should I push lower? Try to get some extras thrown in? If so, what? Been a long time since I bought new.

Hello. I'm new here and would appreciate your feedback about this. There is a 2015 V6 coupe at a dealer here. It has 4600 miles on it and their asking price is $25,000, not including doc fees and tax. We asked and dealership says it is a dealer demo. That seems like a good price. We have an appointment to drive it for "a few hours" this weekend. It is a CPO as well. Not sure if it's considered new or used at this time but it would be warrantied with what is left of the manufacture's warranty as well as the Honda certified. Dealer will not let us have it overnight.
Does this sound like a reasonable deal? Are buying demos a bad idea?
Thanks in advance for your ideas

Buying a demo will save you money. you still have 2 yrs warranty coverage. Find out who had vehicle and how it was driven, after your test drive counter dealers offer for the sale that day

    2015 EXL V-6 coupes invoice w/ dest charge = $28,964.

    good luck

With it certified it has a 100K mile warranty and will be titled as a used vehicle. Ask that dealer, or another one, what they will sell a new 2015 V6 coupe for and decide what is best for you based on the price and warranty difference.

Purchased last night a LX for $19,200.04 plus TTL at Streater-Smith Honda in Conroe. Price includes wheel locks, tint, trunk tray, splash guards, door edge guards and 10 oil changes. Out the door price was $20,750. Josh Fritz at Spring Branch Honda was cheaper at $20,524.44 OTD with all of the above except the oil changes and very easy to get along with but the Conroe dealer is in our back yard

Yes correct CPO has a 100k powertrain

I Overlooked the CPO part in @hondaforus post. Below is what Honda covers on a CPO Accord

Oh - I forgot to mention in my original post that the car has navi - I believe making that $25,000 asking price even sweeter, right? Just seems low to me for 2015 V6 coupe w/ 4600 miles. I think been on the lot since June so, maybe they just want to clear it out. How can I see if it was repaired from an accident? I will ask if it was - does dealer have to fess up to that if the case?
Thanks again for your ideas & comments.

    hondaforus,

Yes its a very good deal. The flip side is your buying a used vehicle that is almost a 1 year old model.

I'm not sure about pricing in your area??? but this same vehicle can be had in CA and a few other states 2500 plus below invoice . Your numbers are at close to 4k below original invoice.

Check Carfax to see if there is anything noted on this coupe.

    I interested in buying 2016 Accord Sedan Sport. With ( Wheel Locks $56, Floor Mats $ 143, Trunk Mat $ 139 & Back up Sensors $514 )
Total MSRP with destination is $26,637. Around what price should I consider a good deal to purchase in NY area ? Thanks !
  • ringmasterringmaster Member Posts: 12
This blog saved me dollars. I did all the negotiating by phone. Once one dealership offered the extras in an email I used that at the closer dealership to get them included.

I was told there still is $1500.00 factory to dealer cash on 2015 Accords but the flex cash ($500.00 on 4 cylinder & $1000.00 on V-6) expired on September 9.

Question - If buying a demo, CPO Honda Accord, never registered and called "new", should the destination charge,($795) apply? Car has roughly 4600 miles on it.

Yes it's part of the window sticker and if it's never been titled, it still needs to be paid.

Really.. except for government fees and taxes, all the money you pay is to the dealer. How it's broken down isn't important.

If they are quoting you a price, then adding destination, then the price quote was a sham to start with.

    Hi Guys,

I am looking to purchase a 2015 Accord Sport in NJ. Has anybody been able to get one under $20k before ttl?
Open to manual or CVT equipped vehicle - just looking for best bang for the buck.

Any comments or dealer recommendations (pm me) appreciated.

Made the following 2015 Accord Touring purchase on August 30th in northern VA.
29,720 Including destination, processing, and door edge guards
    (1,000) Flex Cash
    28,720 Net effective price
    1,331 Taxes, Tags, Title
    30,051 OTD

Wish I had found this forum prior to making the purchase....lots of helpful info that could have helped me avoid a fiasco. Dealt with Pohanka Honda of Chantilly and the process was a complete DISASTER.

Long story short, they factored the flex cash into the price because the sales manager assumed I was financing. After waiting 3 hours to finally sign the paperwork I told them I can't waste any more time and if they want the sale I will write a check and be on my way. I never signed anything agreeing to finance and specifically questioned why there was 1,000 down payment on the final bill of sale. I was told that was a flex cash incentive from Honda and this was even after I made it clear this was a cash deal. Three weeks later I get a call saying I owe them the 1,000. At this point I get the GM involved and he tells me to come in and finance $8k to take care of the issue and I wouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket. I go in and the finance director points out several other errors in the initial paperwork (their fault) and we redo everything. The dysfunction of this dealership is unbelievable. I will say the salesman Nick was the only bright spot. I test drove several different makes and models the weekend I bought my car and he was by far the most knowledgeable about the car and actually demo'd all the features. It's amazing how many salespeople are clueless about the vehicles they sell.
  • brian125brian125 Member Posts: 5,244
    @kjr1234,

I feel your pain and have to agree with you. There are times buying a new vehicle is a nightmare. I have bought and brokered more car deals than anybody in these forums so I speak from many years experience. Incompetence and stupid sales folks run rambit thru most dealerships. Especially today. That's why I hate walking into dealerships unless I'm dealing directly with a manager who can agree to a price. All your homework / research should be done prior to the sale and if you could negotiate online or by phone will cut down alot of the dealers nonsense.

I recently (never did this before ) used Edmunds price promise to see where there idea of pricing was in the NY area on a Grand Cherokee and a Kia Sorrento . I had dealers calling me every day with come down and test drive vehicle for weeks after telling dealers see you at months end if I'm interested with my price and not yours.

Thank God the cell phone number I left on Edmunds is not used for every day personal stuff. I had 5 dealers call me 15 times each with the same message every time. Could you imagine calling someone 15 times with the same message . LOL..... Wouldn't you assume after 5 messages the person is not interested.

Word to the wise here.... Edmunds price promise is best used at the very end of the month when your ready to buy. Avoiding all the ridiculous follow up phone calls.

I'm Afraid to turn on my phone today its been off for 5 days :worried:

    Brian,
Do you know what invoice is on the 2015 touring (I see conflicting numbers on various sites)? I am trying to figure out how I fared on price paid vs. invoice. I had to buy unexpectedly and quickly after my previous car was totaled and wish I had done more research on price. I used the buying services through Geico and Costco as my starting point (neither reflected the flex cash discount) and as you stated, the number of calls was ridiculous.. I would also have financed from the beginning had I known how the flex cash was supposed to work...should have read this forum beforehand.

Invoice is correct 26,133. Good deals right now in alot of states will be at invoice price. When supply builds on lots pricing will get better .

    Invoice with dest/ charge ( $820 ) on the EXL 2016 model = $26,953

Your above deal if selling @27,215 plus dealers high 499 doc fee puts you @761 above invoice price.

Your target otd price =............... your states tax , DMV fee's and dealers doc fee charge. ADD these fee's onto your agreed selling price and that should round out your............. OTD PRICING

Some states have a minimal tire disposal fee or a Internet charge etc . Ask dealers for the complete OTD pricing so you know before hand.

Its best to negotiate a selling price first. 28k. Otd is a ridiculous offer right now,

Your OTD numbers are regulated so dealers cant tamper with DMV fees and your state taxes etc. . It is what its going to be.................... lol ( a real tongue twister). Work on a agreed selling price .

Email / Call or visit 10 dealers let each know you will buy vehicle today for 500 below invoice plus adding dealers fee's ............. doc fee (499) Tax, (2100) and dmv fee's 29 dollars plus???.................. no other added accessories.

Buying a 2016 EXL Accord @500 below invoice price should put you @ 29.1k OTD give and take a few dollars.

Hope this pricing helps you as a guide.

    Good luck ...........................Brian

Just purchased a 2015 Accord LX sedan in the Los Angeles area for $18,996 + $80 doc fee ($21041 OTD including TTL). This was an extremely painless process. I requested quotes from several dealer websites I got this price without any haggling. Dealer honored the email price once I arrived. Took about 2.5hours to complete the transaction at the dealer.
