    brian125,

starting to shop 2015 Accord LX in Tennessee. So far best price:

    Vehicle: $19,187
    doc fees: $598
    taxes: $1620.70

    otd: $21,405.70

i would like to get to $20k or under OTD. Do u think this is possible if I wait until end of the month?

    Your deal is :

$2599 below invoice minus 598 doc = 2001 below invoice. Another $1400 off vehicle price will not happen.

If you play hardball and negotiate thru till months end you may save a few more dollars.

The very high doc fee charge may be your only room for negotiating on this deal. .

The lowest quote I got for the same model/trim was from a Houston Dealership --

I am new to this forum and my knowledge of car lease contract is not the best. I am hoping someone can answer my question and confirm my theory. My family and I recently leased two Honda accord lx. This is my contract,

    Honda Accord LX base
    MSPR : $23725
Agreed upon value of vehicle: $19717.92 with destination and handling fee
    Acquisition fee: $595
    Gross capitalized cost: $ 20312.92
    Residual Value: $13523.25
    Rent charge $349.76
    10k per year
    Down payment: $335.43

Paid for sales tax, doc fee, registration fee, and first month up front. My monthly payment is $189, was that a good deal?

During the process, we had agreed for the two car to be same asking price, which was 19717.92 but with 15k per year on the second car.

Honda Accord Lx base (car number 2) this is what was on the contract

    MSPR: $23725
Agree upon value of vehicle: $20495.61 with destination and handling fee
    Sale/use tax: $830.20
    Acquisition fee: $595
    Gross capitalized cost $21920.81
    Residual value: $ 12811.50
    Rent charge: $360.55
    15k per year
    Down payment: $181.86

Paid for registration fee, doc fee, first month and ny waste tire fee. Monthly payment came out to $258

After running my family member credit score, they said “the monthly payment is going up due to your bad credit score” on the contract on line 6a “gross capitalized cost. The agreed upon value of the vehicle is” $19896.88 but on line 10a. Agreed upon value of Vehicle is $20495.61. I question them why doesn’t the number matches, because it matches on my contract and it matches on my previous car leases. They stated that because of the credit score that “agree upon value of vehicle goes up” so to me that doesn’t make any sense, why would agree upon value goes up due to bad credit and they kept shutting me down.

So I went home and calculated the money factor, and the money factor for both car came out to .00029. Doesn’t that mean they used the same money factor/ tier 1 credit??.

When a person have a bad credit, normally the “rent charge” is higher, and not the agree upon value of the vehicle ? I hope I make some sense. Did I get screwed over? Please help!! I appreciate anyone taking their time to answer this!!! Thank you so much!

Yes, the base MF for the Accord this month is .00029, which is valid for any credit score of 660 or higher; if your score is between 610 and 659, the MF is .00179

I've not ever heard of a dealer raising the price of the car due to credit scores, but there's a first time for everything

Can anyone please tell me if Honda has a certain time frame that they release new incentives that are coming out. For instance, GM usually releases their new incentives monthly, usually around the 3rd or 4th of the month.
Does Honda have a similar pattern?
Also is the current incentive still $1500 (dealer cash) on the Accords and is that for all models or is it different for each model Accord?
and lastly, is Honda's holdback 2%?
    Thanks!

Yes, Honda will update their incentives periodically. The current Honda incentives are set to expire on 9/7/15.

Yes, $1500 cash on all Accord trim levels.

    Don't know about holdback.

The current Honda incentives run through 09/07/15, new incentives will be released 09/08/15. The dealer cash (not consumer cash) is $1500.00 and is available on all Accords regardless of trim-level. Honda holdback is 2.25%, usually paid 30 days after the sale of the car has been reported. Honda finance is offering 0.9% APR for 24-60 months and only 1.9% APR for 61-72 months.

Unfortunately for you the State of FL. . has one of the highest doc fee's in the country. As you negotiate thru this month making your best deal at months end unless a dealer gives in sooner, Compensate each dealers doc fee charge by lowering your asking price of the EXL model.

Ask each dealership if you Call, Email, or Visit...... what there doc fee charge is ?

Your above deal is................... $1189 below invoice after taking doc's into consideration. You can do better

    Hey Brian,

Ended up with the blue 2015 ex-L. 26,600 OTD.

    Hi all,

Looking for some feedback. Looking to take delivery on accord hybrid touring tomorrow in Los Angeles, CA.

    MSRP - $35,875
    Negotiated price - $30,220
    Doc fees - $80
    Registration - $317
    Tire fee - $8.75

All that's left is tax. I'm trying to figure that out and any help would be great. Does dealer charge tax on car or do they also charge tax on doc fees?

Tax on just car - 9% in CA. - $2719.80
With car and doc fees - $2727

    $33,345.55 - $33,352.75

    Thanks

Wanted to say thanks for creating this forum. I made my offer yesterday based off what I was reading and I don't know if it's the greatest deal but it's one I can live with. Accord lx plus pro pack and all weather mats 20,500 otd. Out of honda Mckinney tx. Easiest car purchase I've ever made. Only complaint was the finance guy offered 4.7%. I've purchased 1 civic and 2 accords through honda fi. This is my 3rd accord and have a 790 score, all which he knew.  He should have kept his credibility and not try to juice me at the end. He had to make his fake call to get .9% approved. Excuse was it was a mistake by honda  :/

Folks: Check out the PricePromise feature at Edmunds. Right now they seem to be offering an additional $500 off any Accord direct from Honda. You have to get a special code that you then use at the dealer. Also, the prices they are offering on the very last of the 2015s are lower than I've ever seen. I was quoted more than 5k off of an EXL navi.

Sorry if its already been answered already, but how exactly do I get the $500 discount? I checked out the Edmunds price promise but that just seems to give me quotes (far above what I am getting at dealers btw) similar to how true car does certificates. Am i missing something? How do I get this code?

    Thanks!

@stever may be able to clarify this

I'm not 100 % but you may only get this 500 rebate if you buy at the price promise from/ thru Edmunds service. I could be wrong but In the case of @gohan_d1 Accord deal ( I posted in your message board ) your current deal is at 3116 below invoice price minus the doc fee of $289 .... Edmunds price promise is nowhere in that stratosphere.

Your sitting pretty going into the last days. If you want to pit dealers against each other Weymouth and Herb Chambers hate each other up in Boston

Not likely. It's probably as good as it gets right now. Some dealers are already running low on stock, and Honda's huge incentives expire in early Sept.

    Hi,

I enjoy reading all the posts in this forum. Very informative and helpful. I am in Sacramento, California. I am looking to buy a 2015 Honda Accord EX. What I would like to do is to contact several dealers via email my offer of,

$20,635 (including dest charge)+TTL (tax, tag, doc fees) of about 11% for approximately OTD price of $22,904.

    is this reasonable?

Thanks for your help and tips.

    Jerry

Update: I used $20,635 because I believe the invoice price for 2015 Accord EX is around $23,635. Decided to go below the invoice by $3K as initial negotiation.

I think you're going to get it. I am informing dealers, my target price is $20,500 for the ex. So far, edmunds price promise has come to $21,600. See a prior post to get the $500 edmunds preferred certificate. You can ask for the $300 savings from them not having to pay the referral truecars.com cost. I think August 31 may be ideal, for pressured dealers to get end of month goals/incentives. You probably know the routine - state you plan to make the purchase at a certain point (ex, 8/31 5pm), give your target price and that you'll offer other dealers to beat the lowest price received. Hopefully, they'll be calling you while you're heading out the door. It was a different environment in 2007, but I was able to get the ex '07 sedan at for $18,900 using the strategy.

Did any dealer accept your $20,500 target so far?

regarding "$500 edmunds preferred certificate", it is only applicable if the dealer is referred to by Edmunds, correct?

    Thanks

Not yet. Persistence may pay off. I think there's a good chance to get it below $21,000.
It is transferable. It says participating dealers, only. Part of the certificate is below:

*Accord Preferred Customer Offer available only through Honda Financial ServicesSM (HFS) to individual bearing offer code toward the lease or finance of any new and previously unsold 2015 Accord or 2015 Accord Hybrid from July 20, 2015 throughSeptember 7, 2015. Offer is available only toward Down Payment or Capital Cost Reduction Assistance on financing of 24 months or greater. Not available as cash refund. No trade in required. Zero Due at Signing Leases not eligible. Must meet HFS credit criteria. Offer transferable. Offer excludes recent purchases and is only valid for one transaction. See your participating Honda dealer for complete information. This offer code must be presented at the time of purchase or lease.

It just shows total savings of $4,110. no savings breakdown. is the $500 you said included in the $4,100?

I believe you are able to deduct the $500 from the price. If they say no, walk away. Tell them ahead of time you want confirmation over e-mail they will deduct the extra $500 from the price.

The deal I'm currently being offered in MD for a 2015 EX-L Sedan (no navi):

    23,900

    Process fee: 319
    Tags: 299
    Tax: 1434

    Total OTD: 25,952

I feel like there's still room. How much more would you think is reasonable?

    Thanks!

Is this for a V6 or 4 cylinder?

Regarding the $500 Honda Accord preferred Customer offer from Edmunds... I got this coupon by clicking on the Ad that appeared when I was searching for cars thru Edmunds.com. I was able to do print this on 08/19. One of the dealer Internet sales rep gave this Tip when I called him over the phone to discuss on price. You do not need to get Edmunds pricing. Took this coupon and got $500 deducted from the Final price. Able to score Honda Accord EX for 22,440 OTD. This is from dealer in Central PA.
    Sale price: 21,400 + Tax, Title, Registration = 22,940 - $500 discount = 22,440 OTD. Also got 0.9 APR thru Honda Finance.

Just got it yesterday: Accord EX-L V6, Albatross Silver for $27,000, incl. Dest. fee (MSRP $31, 315).

BUT dealer also gave me a nice deal for my trade in, a 2005 Accord EX-L V6 with only 69k miles that would need some body work to fix dings and scratches — $6,000.

There were couple other dealers who'd offer it to me, some for almost $1,000 less, BUT they had only dark colors ("oh, we can get the silver one delivered from other dealerships, 250 miles away, give us a few days"), and I wouldn't know how much they'd given me for my old car.

From a Chicago Suburban dealer, received a quote for "2015 Accord Sedan EX CVT for $20,836.00 plus fees." This does include the $500 Edmunds.com Certificate.

Is it really Albatross Silver? That can't be right... :o

Nice price.  Now if only I know how to get the $500 Edmunds certificate!!  Is there a hidden link somewhere?

Somehow it popped up when signing up for edmunds.com price promise. I am not sure what prompted it. The certificate expires on August 31.

Does anyone have info if Honda will be increasing any accord incentives after September 7?
