Thanks,
The color is nimbus gray
Don't let "buyer's remorse" ruin your feeling toward the car. Just enjoy it!
Freeman: $30,097
Bankston: $30,197
John Eagle: $30,248
Rusty Wallis: $30,248
McDavid Irving: $30,444
Huggins: $30,847
Frank Kent: $31,868
I paid $27,800 plus TT+L for a 2008 EX-L with the ProPack from HondaCars of McKinney, TX. It also had the front windows tinted. No NAV or RES
When looking at the "reported" deals on here, it is important to make sure you are getting the exact model and accessories.
I estimate that I paid around $1,500.00 under invoice after you use the Invoice price plus destination charge less the $1,000 manufacturer to dealer rebate that was in effect when I purchased at the end of October 2007.
Good luck,
Dirty Dogs
I emailed several dealers in NC and went back and forth for a little while negotiating the sales price. I ended up with $23,550 plus TTL!!
I ended up leasing for 36 months/36 K miles at $318 total payment (tax included) and just 1st month payment out the door!
I think I did pretty good and I love the car! Thanks everyone!
The second dealer I called the salesman i have been annoying for 3 weeks and told him my wife wanted to drive a nimbus gray SE and we were coming in. "You in the tahoe?" yup i answered. "Got your title?" yup again.
We arrived and he asked for my keys, which i obliged and we went on the test drive on a beautiful SE RES. I asked the dealer "You are not testing my truck, are you?" he replied yes. "Testing the 4WD?" yes again. I advised him I have not given permission to drive it and if they tear the transfer case up they bought the truck. He got very nervous and told me they already tested it...but all was well.
We got back to the dealer, I told him let's not BS around. I gave him my numbers from the first dealer and with my trade I will lease today.
He did the old "go talk to the manager" deal and came back with $5500 for my tahoe. I said "Matt, you are making me upset. I told you it books for 6600. I want 6000. Go away and hurry. 30 seconds later the deal was done.
15000 miles 3000 down 350 mo 36 mo. I love it.
p.s. I called the first dealer and told him I am no longer a contact for a sale. He asked what deal they gave me, i said yours and they paid me what my car was worth. He grumbled and said thanks....
Your situation is, actually was almost the same as mine. I would like to trade in my 2006 Lexus 330 and get the same Pilot model as explained in the previous posting.
How did you finally manage the trade-in issue?
Thanks again.
Nice to know, but folks wanting to do the cheap (0.34%) lease deal should note that:
Dealer Cash cannot be combined with select special AHFC lease/purchase plan. See local dealer for details.
or so says the Edmunds incentives page.
You can still get a nice Pilot deal, heck the pre-figured lease promo is priced around $500 under invoice.

including wheel locks and full gas tank.
$1500 less than i paid for my 2003 pilot
the 26,900 price was ok, but since they gave me 14,500 for my 80k miles 2003 pilot, i was happy.

Man, that thing is fugly! They look like a mix of a Saturn and a Jeep. Is Stevie Wonder working in their design department now?
It looks like I won't be upgrading my Pilot for a while.
Sometimes they use the "concepts" to float a trial balloon for the design. If they hear enough complaints then the productions appearance may be different. In this case, there is not much time left to make any changes, I would not think.
Hey, it may look better in person.

More pictures and you can sign up for e-mail updates on the new Pilot.

That's probably a good thing for marketing, though...

The newer pictures posted today also look strange to me too. I love my Pilot (other than the weak FM antenna and seat siding falling off), but would sadly give up a seat and a few grand for the MDX if they make the new one look like a Jeep.
I just purchased a 2008 EX-L with navigation, moonroof visor, and splash guards in Atlanta (Gwinett Place Honda) for $31274 including doc, fee and title. I will pay tax on trade-in difference of $450 in Alabama. Drove home this afternoon in a snowstorm and the Pilot handled it flawless. Thanks to Dennis who posts here for a lot of good advise. He has helped me purchase 2 cars now in the last 3 months, all in Atlanta although I'm in Birmingham.
For those playing along at home, the EX-L 4WD w/NAV invoice is $32,905 and there is a $1,500 dealer incentive if you don't do the cheap lease/finance.
I am going Pilot hunting this weekend for my wife if I can get all my ducks in a row by then

'08 Pilot SE 4WD -- $28,021 incuding destination charge plus tax/tags.
Cambridge Honda
That was an Internet quote. The others ranged up to $29,100.
Going to buy on Saturday.
The Ody sales must be slow too, there is a $1,000 dealer incentives on those as well.
In general, if you pay near dealer cost for a new car they will give you around auction value for your car (which will be less than "trade in" numbers shown online). If you pay more for the new vehicle they can give you more for your trade. You are looking for the lowest net difference.
You also have to do some negotiating to bring up the trade and bring down the new price. So it is possible to get a decent trade in value and still get a super low price. Part of that depends on the vehicle you are trading, if you kept it in pristine shape inside and out, new tires, regular maintenance, etc may your trade stand out from the rest and should net you better money. Use Odys used to be (maybe still are?) highly desirable and a Honda dealer could CPO yours and sell it for a nice profit.
I checked and trade for a nice EX with 33k is about $17,210, so the dealer is not far off.
You can always choose to sell it yourself or see if another dealer, like Carmax, wants it.

Purchased at norris honda in Dundalk, MD. No hassle, the after sale part took too long however. I am glad I checked online first because I would have paid about $600 too much for my warranty.
p.s. love it so far, much roomier than the highlander i drove, and got 17.8 mpg on the first tank.
I was quoted $389.00 + tax, nothing down (just bank fees, 1m sec deposit, registration), 12K miles, for 2008 EX-L NAVI, 4WD.
I am in New York.
My wife and I picked up her new Pilot from Hennessy Honda in Woodstock, GA on Monday.
Our deal was for the 2WD VP (in mocha metallic with saddle cloth, if it matters) for $23,923 including destination, plus dealer fee for a total of $24,397 for the Pilot, destination, and fee.
Invoice is shown as $25,630 so we paid $1,233 under invoice INCLUDING the dealer fees.
Note that the MSRP is/was $29,030 but the actual window sticker may show $28,230 with the $800 "special value package discount". AHFC uses the $29,030 to figure the residual and NOT the actual window sticker MSRP on the bottom line. That makes it that much cheaper .
The promo lease on the Honda web page calls for a selling price of $25,079.09 plus whatever the dealer charges for doc and prep fees. My local dealers would honor the promo price but would not come off of it at all - and they charge $400 or so in doc fees, so our $24,397 was nearly $1,100 cheaper than any other deal. Well worth the drive to get the Pilot from Hennessy.
Everything was pre-approved and done before we got there, so we just inspected the new Pilot, test drove it, signed the papers, and were ready to go. Our salesperson went out of her way to go over EVERYTHING on the new Pilot with my wife - for sure the most thorough delivery I have ever seen. She even set the clock to our time zone and set up some of my wife's favorite XM channels.
We got 23.4 mpg on the trip back home and that included some idling while we played with various things on the car. Not bad for an EPA rated 22 mpg SUV.
We considered the 2WD EX model, but in the end the extras (power seat, auto climate control, fog lights, etc) just were not worth the nearly $2k higher price (at invoice). VP includes XM while it is extra cost on the EX as well.
If you are not leasing, you could probably get a bit better of a price due to the dealer incentives.
My wife loves her Pilot and is very happy, and if my wife is happy then I am too
Dennis
$28,838 is shown as invoice price and there is a $1,500 dealer incentive for sold Pilots and we hear a $1,000 incentive for leased Pilots. So $27,383 would be at dealer cost (not counting hold back) so your price is $569 over invoice less the incentive. The hold back on this Pilot is $953.40 so the dealer is making a nice profit at this price.
So yes, if buying, there is quite a bit more room here.
Have you checked with Swope in Louisville? I have done business with them a couple of times and sent a lot of folks their way and they normally have really low Internet prices. They do have a high doc fee, but the net of the price and fee is normally much better than I can get locally. E-mail me for a contact, or just go through their web page for a price quote.
Dennis
Does that means that we could get $26,385 deal for EX 4WD? Is the dealer possible to offer that?
thank you very much!
