With that adjusted CAP cost, I get $275/mo.+tax, so $299/mo.looks right, assuming approx 8% tax rate.

What you don't list is the amount due at signing. I'd guess all those "other fees", plus the $2100 in MSDs, plus 1st payment are all due at signing. (minus the acq.fee..that looks to be in the CAP?)

Total Add Cap: Looks like a marked-up acquisition fee ($795 base). Hopefully, that's in the payment.
Cap cost reduction: Downpayment included in your due at signing, to get the payment under $300.
Cap Cost tax: Any amounts paid upfront have to be taxed upfront.

So, is your "due at signing"
    $299 1st payment
    $2100 MSDs
    $700 other fees/CCR

If it's $3100 upfront and $299/mo, that's a great deal... Especially with $2100 coming back at lease end.

Thanks for the response. You nailed it exactly as it is $3100 up front ($2100 of it on MSD, $263.36 cap cost reduction, rest are fees)

So my question is it normal practice for BMW to include the "Total Add Cap" (guessing Acq Fee) into the CAP cost? Because excluding it and paying it as a one time fee would lower the payment.

This was just the initial offer I got without negotiating was a bit skeptical if it was a good deal or not.

    Thanks!

You can pay the acquisition fee upfront or add it to the CAP cost... there is no normal practice. It makes little difference, either way.

MF is marked up the max from the base of .00128. What is the selling price? Also, in GA you pay "ad valorem" tax on the entire selling price, which hurts you on a lease.

Just an incentive Q on a 320i lease- Is the $1000 innovation credit the same as the Anniversary credit? Really not sure what is a "innovation credit" and how one qualifies for it? Thanks for your help.

    They are the same thing...

This month on the 3-series, they call it the Anniversary credit (40th anniversary of the 1st 3-series)
On the rest of the model line-up it's called the Innovation credit (left over from last ad campaign).

You don't have to qualify... it's a consumer incentive.

Which model is this? I'm showing 65% residual for the 328i this month for 36/12, or a residual value of $27,024. With your MSRP and selling price, and using the base MF, I get a payment of $383/mo before tax.

You need to find out what the net cap cost is; my guess it's much higher than the $37,833 selling price they've quoted you. Marked up MF isn't doing you any favors, either.

I received this quote for a 328d. Looks pretty good but was wondering if I can do any better or knock off a fee or two or if they were hiding anything in here. Also wondering if I'm pretty sure I'll be on the low mileage side, better to get the 10k/yr and then buy miles later? I'd probably take the chance I end up lower and pay $.16/mile later rather than more for .15 now:

Using the $40,890 MSRP and $36,575 net cap cost with the 64% residual and .00128 MF, I get a payment of $402.59 with tax. Your quote looks pretty good by comparison.

The 112.99 is what's left over from your $1000, after 1st payment and fees are paid.. That money is used to reduce the CAP cost. Any money paid upfront is taxed upfront.. and that's where the tax comes from. (the doc fee and cap reduction are taxed).

What kind of residuals are going for the 335i? 12,000 miles and 15,000 miles? Also, can one get the Team USA event without actually attending an event? The next one in California isn't till August.

Whats the current residual for the 24 month/10k lease? Also, is there a BMW loyalty MF? I remember there was when I leased my last car. Thanks!

Are there any differences in residual for xDrive? So a 335ix and a 328ix will both have the same residual for 35/10, 36/12 and 36/15? Also, it appears Edmunds is saying you should be able to get a 3-Series below invoice. What % off MSRP, after options, should one be shooting for as a "good" or "great" deal?

Thanks so much for your replies!

Just closed the following 320 w/ power, heated and xenon

    MSRP: 36,295
    Sale: 32,000
    Cap Reduction: 796.55
    Adjusted Cap: 31,203.45
    MSD: $2100
MF: .00114 (after MSD and Bank Fee bump)
Bank Fee: $0 (incorporated into the increase in MF)
Total Fees Including First Month's Payment and Cap Reduction: 1600

Drive off including MSD (2100) and Safe Lease (1375): $5075

    Monthly Payment w/ tax : $298.56

I was a little confused at first at them taking out the bank fee and rolling it into a higher MF, but I calculated it both ways with the .00079 MF (w/ MSD) while paying the bank fee up front and it seems to come out the same.

    Appreciate any input, thanks!

Residuals are the same for 328i, 328xi, 335i and 335xi.

Generally, 5-7% off sticker is doing well for BMW.

Looks good - less than $300/mo for a car that stickers for $36K is not a bad deal at all.

    Enjoy!

Can anyone in Michigan comment on their experience?

I've been looking for 2015 328i xdrive w/prem, nav, cold weather. I'm trying to find $500 over invoice, 36/15K, $795 acquisition, .00128 money factor.

In addition to being treated like I'm a jerk, I'm being told no one will sign that deal- the dealership would lose money. Also, that I may think I know what I'm talking about but,I know squat. Also, acq fee in Michigan is $995 and standard money factor is .00155.

Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong?  Should I expect to pay markup on all three figures (acq/selling price/mf)?

    Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Well... you know all the correct numbers.. Most dealers will be upfront about their markups and not lie about it.. When I run into that, I just move on to another dealer. Once a dealer starts telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, they usually finish talking to the back of my head.

The current BMW numbers are good until 6/30. If we're lucky, we'll see the July numbers before the end of next week.

I get $457/mo.+tax, so calculations are close..

Acquisition fee is marked up from the base $795 amount.
Only other thing to bargain on is the selling price... Being a loaner/demo, I'm not sure how much room they have, but you need a deal that's at least $1000 less than what you could get on a brand-new one, or it's not worth it. You might be at that point, but it wouldn't hurt to try and get it lower.. Every $1000 less saves you about $31/mo.tax inclusive.

For those thinking about leasing or buying a 3 series within the next few months, make sure you go to the local "BMW Drive For Team USA Drive" and get a $1,000.00 coupon code from BMW.

    https://www.bmwusa.com/secured/content/forms/DFTUSA.aspx

You don't need a code to register,

When leasing or buying a BMW afterwards, DO NOT TELL THE DEALER that you have the code until you reach a final price.

The dealer lowered the acquisition fee to $795 and the selling price to 42,900. Monthly payment now is $469. It is not quite $31 less per month but the dealer says they can go no lower as they won't make any money on this lease.

I got a deal from a bmw dealership in NJ for a used 2015 335xi, just want to make sure its a good deal

    MSRP - 53,425
    Sale Price - 42,987
    MF - 0.00079
    Residual - 0.65
    Miles - 5000
    Lease term - 36 month
    Miles per year - 12k
    Monthly payment - 345.00
    7 MSD = 2,450
    Total out of pocket - 3,686 (2450 MSD + 345 First Month + 891 Taxes and DMV)

The dealer said BMW wouldnt let them use the grad incentive or anniversary incentive since the car had already been titled. Does anybody know if this is true or not?

    Thanks!

Seriously? $345/mo on a car that stickers for $53K is an amazing deal. Might need you to negotiate my next lease...

Can I get the May numbers please for:

    2015 328i Diesel xDrive
    2015 328i xDrive GT
    2015 428i xDrive

    36 Months / 15K Miles per year.

    Thank You.

EDIT: Please provide 24 months as well, if more favorable. Thanks, in advance.

    .00129 MF for all

    328ix - 63% and $1000 anniversary credit
    328dx - 62% and $1000 anniversary credit + $500 eco credit
    328ix GT - 62% and $1000 anniversary credit
    428ix - 59%

36 months is the sweet spot this month.
    Hi Mod,
To clarify, are any of these models wagons?
I was quoted today at a dealer the same 00129 MF and also a 65% residual for the gas wagon, the diesel wagon, and the 328ix GT, all at 36/10,000.

    Do you agree?

That seems like a very high residual vs the 54% for an Allroad.

    Thank you!

None of the above were wagons.

65% is correct for the GT and the gas wagon, but the diesel wagon is 64% residual for 36mo, 10K/yr.

Yes, BMW residuals are better than Audi.

I take it this was a loaner or something? I didn't think you could lease a "used" BMW. Am I wrong? That deal is freakin incredible. I'm assuming you used the anniversary credit as well as a Team USA credit? You need to tell us how you got it. What trim and options? How you found that particular car, etc. Did the dealer point you toward it? It's exactly what I'm looking for.

Hi can you please confirm this: 328d xdrive wagon.
    000128 MF

    less 7 security deposits,

should lower the MF by 00049.

so new MF would be .00079 ( or 1.896%)

    correct?

if my old pmt was $370 pretax, what my new pmt? Thnk you

As of July 1st, the base MF is .00130, so the new 7 MSD MF would be .00081.

Would need to know all of the numbers for an exact reduction in payment, but it's around $32/mo.

Save yourself some time and trouble. Quit converting the money factor to an interest rate. That won't help you calculate a lease payment. That's what the money factor does for you.

Is the $1000 buildout cash similar to innovation/anniversary credit given by BMW NA directly? It looks like the base MF has been increased from .00128 to .00130 for the month on July? I was expecting more credit in July given than 340i will start showing up next month and they would have increased the incentive to quickly move existing 2015 cars.

Are the lease rates same for 335i as well?

Yes, BMW changes the name of the incentive to fit their marketing. This is a factory to dealer incentive that the dealer can pass along to the customer.

Rarely does the MF change by more than .00001 or .00002 in a given month. Incentives may increase as the 2016's start to hit the lots in numbers and there is a lot of 2015 inventory still available.

mahler12x yes it was an executive demo used by the people at bmw corporate. And they would not let me use any credits, not the anniversary, grad or team usa. And I was just looking at all nearby dealerships, checked out the inventory, and spoke to the sales person. They initially wanted 450 or so, but when I started asking about MF, Residual and 7 MSD, they finally came down on price.

Although they did get me in the end by getting me to buy the tire/rim protection package for $1800. so that brought my payment up to 399

I appreciate the confirmation, the dealer acknowledged the mistake, and a new contract is on the way ( ~& less per month) .
As far as converting MF to interest rate, agreed not needed in computing a payment but I find it helpful to know the rate you are being charged to "rent" the money for a lease vs. the rate you are being charged to rent the money ( finance) for a purchase.
