Hi, is this a good offer for a 2015 328i xDrive? MSRP $42500, selling price $38500. It's a general $4000 off applies to all 3 series. Is there any other discount I can get? I cannot get the team USA $1000 credit  Also, How does the $1000 buildout cash work? Can I subtract that from the $38500 selling price so it becomes $37500? Thanks a lot!

Yes, 65% for 36/10.

Tell them (politely but firmly) that you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. They know what the base rate is - no need to negotiate it.

Reach out to multiple dealers if you have to. Only takes one to meet your numbers.

Lots of questions, as this is my first lease, and I never had the nerve to negotiate my car purchase in college. I'm doing all the numbers with multiple dealers via email. How do you recommend I tell them that I won't accept an inflated MF, without coming off rude or something.

As I said, be polite but firm. Don't worry about being rude; this is a business transaction, not an opportunity to make friends.

CAP cost would need to be about $37275 to hit $402/mo.

Is $3000 the full amount due at signing? If so, that looks about right.

Additionally, I'm noticing people talking about MSDs. How do these work and should I consider using those as my down payment? I have 2500 from the insurance company to put down and I can easily increase to 3000+ if that is best.

We do not recommend making a cap cost reduction (lease term for down payment) - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

MSD (Multiple Security Deposit) is a risk free way to lower your payment. Each security deposit is the amount of the monthly payment rounded up to the next $50. Each one lowers the MF by .00007, and a maximum of 7 can be applied, reducing your MF to .00081. The nice part about MSD is that you get that money back at the end of the lease.

Use a lease calculator, there are some good ones in the app store for IPhones. Also, sign up for a drive ASAP (before you lease) and you will get an additional $1,000 off! MSDs are the way to go!

First time poster. I wish I would have found this forum years ago. From the looks of things and my past negotiations, I have been getting fleeced for the last 10 yrs of leasing. Anyway, I have a question about leasing a certified used Bmw.  
1.  Do I calculate the residual on the original Msrp and add .20/mile for the mileage accumulated or is it off the new used MSRP?
2. Can I use the same MF of .0013 in my formula?
3.  Do multiple security deposits still apply to a certified used?
4.  I am assuming I will still have the acquisition fee and document fees applied to the financing equation.
5.  Will the mileage be calculated from the time I take ownership or from the original 0 miles? I assume the manf warranty is only good from the original owner purchase.

Loaners and demos that haven't been titled are leased just like a new car, except the residual is adjusted for the mileage.

I suspect the money factors and residuals for CPO BMW's are very different than they are for new cars. Not even sure if BMWFS has a program; the dealer may be working with a local bank to offer lease terms on used cars.

The calculations are dead on, assuming the 9% lease tax rate in PA.
Although, I would assume that the MF is .00130, not .00131

There is a $1000 buildout incentive on this vehicle. You have a 7% discount before adding the $1000, so that's a good price. No markups, either.

First of all thank you for the information everyone has shared here, it has been very helpful.
I am currently deployed active duty military and would like to prearrange/negotiate a 328i lease before my return home in mid October if possible.

My reason for wanting to prearrange the lease is that upon returning to the states I won't have any transportation and I live in a smaller city with only one BMW dealership. I only want a base model without expensive options such as navigation and premium packages. I don't want to get "stuck" leasing a more expensive option because they don't have what I want in stock at the time.

Do you have any suggestions on the timeline to begin to make contact with the dealership or if it is even advisable to do so this far in advance?

You're probably best off special ordering your car, since you want it minimally equipped. Be prepared to hand over a decent sized deposit, however, for the privilege.

Usually takes 8-12 weeks for an ordered car to arrive at the dealer, so probably good to reach out now and begin discussions.

I would get a receipt for a refundable deposit; though if you special order the dealer may not go for that.

Generally, you'll qualify for whatever incentives exist when you take delivery, not when you order.

I get the same numbers.

$2450 for MSDs, 1st payment, acquisition fee.. leaves about $400 for title/registration/doc fee? Looks good.

A 36 month lease with the same parameters would be $13/mo. less

I've had 17" and 18" BMW rims for the last 12 years.. never bent one, yet. Blew one tire in a pothole, but that tire was near the end of it's life, anyway.
