The lease cash should be applied after negotiating the selling price of the vehicle with the dealer? That way the actual selling price may come down. Not sure how to apply it, that is why asking.

Negotiate lowest selling price for your model . Then make sure dealer applies ( minus's ) lease cash off that number. In NJ you could get vehicle at Invoice price Minus lease cash incentives.

I cross-shopped crossover SUV's across several makes and finally landed on a 2016 Sorento LX V6. It was tough to get the numbers to where I was happy with them, and I'll share them so that everyone can benefit.

MSRP: 29,800
Selling Price: 27,050
36 months - 12k miles
Monthly:$255.xx + tax
Total Drive-Off was $1000 (TTL + approx. $145.xx cap cost reduction)

Looking at 2016 KIA Sorento Limited AWD 3.3 L V6 (KIA Model # 74492) in Florida 33919. MSRP $48,155 Dealer sells zillions of KIAs but may have to trade locally for this one. (So few AWDs in Fla!)

Have top, top tier credit; am returning a previously leased KIA Sorento AWD. Previously negotiated "dealer fee" from $300+ down to $140 or so which is the fee set by law in IL where I have bought previously. Leased current vehicle at "invoice" minus advertising fees.

Will buy in February--what can I expect for RV, money factor, etc.? Any way to knock down the acquisition fee? How best to get them to make my current last lease payment without them trying to slide that $ amount back into the lease agreement somehow?

Acquisition fee can't be changed. Anything they pay for you (like last payment) comes out of your pocket, one way or the other.

I would certainly post in Prices Paid.

Can I do better? And should I get this model or an EX touring (drove, engine seemed a little wimpy) or a SX limited? I'm coming out of an Audi Q5 P+, FWIW.

Don't even have to run the numbers to know that's a good deal on a 24 month lease.

Can't comment on which model you should get. I've never driven a Sorento.

I drove both vehicles and comparing it to the 15, Q5 I would go for the V6 Kia. The turbo felt ok but to me missed the mark on refinement and power. You may not feel that way depending on prior vehicles you drive.
The Sorrento is a excellent vehicle that I like a lot.

In Illinois, looking for the 36/10 24/10 for a kia sorento ex and lx. What are the adjustments for tier's of credit. I'm looking for a family member that is around 680-690.

If MSRP is 29520, they are selling those locally outright for 24079. IF there is truly a 3000 lease cash and a 1000 conquest cash (he has a toyota sienna), this will model out for less than 100/mo? that's why I need to understand the money factors if you have them at different tiers.

The sale price likely already includes incentives that are equal or greater than the lease incentives. There is a very good chance that the selling price on a lease will be higher than that number, not lower.

KMF won't do 24 month leases on a score under 700

680-699 score only adds .00020 to the base MF, but the next tier down adds another .00050 on top of that.

After having been lied to by a Kia dealer today, I'm more confused than ever:

My selling price, for a 24/12K lease on a SX V6 here in LA is 31625...MSRP 39695.

Dealer says MF is .0005, and residual is 63%...assuming a 9% tax, and no other fees, I get a montly payment of $331.38 on leaseguide.com (which I've used on all my german car leases).

What are the other fees that I'm not seeing...the dealer said they couldn't go below 391 + tax....first month was zero, but that only adds about 15 to the monthly, making it well below 350/month all in.

Acquistion fee, title/license/doc fees.. Probably $1000 total.

On a 24 month lease, $1000 adds $42/mo.+tax.

Thanks for the great work moderating the forums. Looking at a 2016 KIA Sorento Limited AWD in SW Connecticut and wondering what money factor and residual applies for February under the following scenarios:

36 Months / 10,000 miles/year
36 Months / 12,000 miles/year

Also, our lease is up at the end of March (and the end of the quarter for the dealers). What's your best guess on terms getting better or worse in March? Thanks!

So my confusion is where the "lease cash" comes into play. Is this something that is factored in after I get the best negotiated price and all other incentives?  Or is this something that is just taken off sticker price and that is the cost?

In other words, the sticker on this fully loaded limited is just over $47k. And according to Trucar I should be able to grt it for around $41.5k...so the lease cash is on top of that too??  If so that seems like a steal

Lease cash is a factory to dealer incentive, that the dealer can choose to pass along to the customer.

Generally, use that knowledge to make your best deal, then ask for the discount in addition.

Can't tell you anything about the numbers from TrueCar.
