Does anyone know where "factory invoice" information is available about the Honda 2008 CRV EX 2WD?
OTD was about $28,300
Only thing I don't like so far about the car is on the freeway (405N between the 110 and 105 fwys) where the concrete has grooves the CRV tires like to track into them and makes the car a bit "swervy"
Everything else is excellent!

Your are referring to the "dealer's invoice", not the "factory invoice" which was noted at http://www.carbuyingtips.com/car4.htm
Holdback and other items aren't itemized on the Edmund's invoice, but those numbers are easily obtainable on this same website..
I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for?

If there is no difference between these two invoices, why are the itemized invoices (not the bottom line) for both not posted on the internet as "Edmund;s invoice' , etc.?
With some caveats...
Holdback.. Some invoices (notably Toyota) break out this number, but the bottom line is the same.. There is an article here on Edmunds detailing holdback for each manufacturer (though it may be somewhat out of date). As far as I know, holdback on Hondas is 2% of MSRP.
Regional advertising fees.. Many dealers are invoiced for advertising fees... But, since they vary by region, those aren't published by the consumer websites..
There aren't two invoices... factory and dealer... There is only one invoice.. Nominally, it is what the dealer pays the factory for the car.. There may be other numbers that you can add or subtract from this invoice to get the dealers' "true cost", and you can find out about most of those things here on Edmunds, or on the site you linked. There may be other numbers that we don't know about.. unit bonuses, etc...
One other good resource is this discussion... You can read about what other buyers are paying for the same car. Which is good.. because, ultimately, even if you know what the dealer paid for the car, the only number that matters is what price you can buy it for..
Hope that helps,

Better yet why don't you just post in pdf format the "factory invoice" for the 2008 CRV EX 2WD?
Thank you
I'm trying to find out the best dealer offering price for 2008 CR-V EX-L AWD in the NJ state or neighbouring. One dealer in Central NJ offered around $26000 price, which means around $29000 OTD ($26000 price+$1820 taxes+$635 dest. charge+$235 doc fee+$10 NJ tire fee+$235 reg fee etc). Is that a good price?
I am willing to go to MD or CT if there's substantial difference in price, however am not sure how that works out. Do I get charged another state's fees too and then NJ fee when I register it here? Is that worth the effort?
Please let me know. Thanks much in advance
On what total is the state sales tax figured/
Destination and state tax are understandable.
Hope this helps...and no...I don't work there.
I got an internet offer from Open Road Honda and they're charging me $25,900 price - so pretty much the same as VIP Honda. Is this the normal for the NJ dealers for a 2008 EX-L AWD no Nav, to charge around $26000 price? I was hoping this would be around $24K or so - something below invoice. Or is that too much to ask for !
Overall we are very happy with the car so far. The sales experience through the internet department at Ocean Honda in Santa Cruz, CA was great. Only negative was that the finance guy tried to sell me the extended warranty at a 'fleet' price of 2250, but he didn't push it too hard. I guess he has to try to make money somewhere. I'll get one online if I want it for 1/3 of the price.
Thank you to everyone posting on the forum for your help.
I have closed the deal for 4X4 EX for 22500 (24554 on road including Tax, paper work & MV etc..) including the destination charges in Caldwell, NJ with excellent financing rate...Today late afternoon I am going to take the delivery...
Do let me know if its good deal....

Rishi

That's an awesome deal! the best i've seen yet.
I'm in Los Angeles and I've been looking for the same car, EX-L 2WD no navi. Do you mind sharing where you bought it? & name of salesperson? That be appreciated. If you want, you can email me at crvexl2008@yahoo.com. Thanks!
What are you finding for prices on the net and at the dealers for Hondas and Hyundai Crossovers?
Comparing 2008s Honda CRV Ex 2WD A with the Hyundai Santa Fe SE 2.7 L6. Hyundai just raised the rebates on the 2008 Santa Fe from $500 to $2000.; 2007 went from $1500 to $2500. Both CRV and Santa Fe have 5 star safety with 4 star rollover. Mileage is comparable. Price???
So that might be something else for you to ponder.
Is that with or without the current Hyundai rebate of $2000 and $2500?
I don't think Honda ever had 0% rate. The lowest I remember was 1.9% for 60 months on Civics and Elements. 2.9% is the lowest on the CR-V.
What you need to do is sit down and calculate how much you would pay over the life of the loan at price X at rate Y, and then calculate how much you would pay over the life of the loan at MSRP at 0% interest rate. What you may find out, is that buying at invoice and paying 4% rate may be better in the long term.

Thanks.
Anyone else go anywhere in NJ????
you really wanted.
I guess those prices do NOT want to come down. You;d be scared at what I paid, but dh insisted on the dual dvd players installed. They are purty
I will say, altho sticker shock still hasn't worn off, I plan on enjoying this car for at least 10-15 years. I am crazy about it. After the caravan, this car is like my Disney World.
See how low you can get, play your game, it's a smart one. And good luck!
