cheapstake shoppers? customers are cheap because they earn money with honest and dignity. therefore, they have to spend their money wisely.
Right?
And there is a difference between a decent, polite shopper who is trying to get a great deal and a rude shopper who go's over the line.
Agree?
Pretty simple, really...
But it's also a good idea to view discussions by make/model now and then from the main Town Hall page in case a new discussion gets started that you are interested in.
Hope that helps!

Bought from Hersons Honda in Rockville, MD. Had to buy a vehicle to replace vehicle involved in an accident, IMO not a bad deal. My expectation was to get another $800 off but had to give up.
Vehicle is great. I got Black color car. Though this color is little more maintenance looks great.

*best offer was $20892.00 for an '03. Car sold before I called back but they offered next week's delivery for quoted price. Internet Sales called back about 2 hours later and said cars coming in were '04 not '03 BUT, since they promised me the next one in at that price they would stick to it. Don't expect this price to be offered often if at all.
Great deal in Phoenix area. Purchased from TEMPE HONDA Internet Dept. Used e-mail and fax to 7 local dealerships internet managers. 4 responded. Honda Cars of Mesa had a slightly higher price. Earnhardt was quite a bit higher but well under MSRP. Showcase also made fair offer. (All quotes were for '03 so don't know what I would have been quoted by others for an '04 but I doubt anyone would have beat this deal.)
Picked it up today. Love it.
Definitely recommend TEMPE HONDA Internet dept. if you're in this area. Check other posts here as well.
btw, why $2 for postage?

MSRP $22,860
Invoice $21,152
Price $21,700 (same as Edmunds TMV)
6% Tax $1,302
Doc, Reg, etc. $161

Very happy so far, but wish I could have gotten a better price. I used email and went to dealers but no one would budge.

I've read that the saddle interior was 'enhanced' for 2004. Can anyone explain the difference between the 2004 saddle and 2003 saddle?
Also, can you confirm the addition of a passenger-side power lock switch for 2004?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just bought a 2004 Civic a week ago and used the price at the website to bargain with the dealer. first, they said they have "special program" for my Civic 6/75K for $1400.00. I told them the price I saw online was $710.00 for 7/75K, no deductible, no tax. finally, they beat the online price at $650.00 plus tax, equals to $703.00 for 7/75K.
good luck.
I can confirm the addition of a passenger side power lock that will lock all doors.
Also, it says the TMV on an 02 used CRV auto LX AWD is $17K. A local dealer laughed and is retailing it at $19.9. He says the TMV is screwed up. Of course I do not want to take his word yet it does seam as though the TMV is off. Is there an issue. I used this price to get my Camry last year and found it to be dead on.
Note: the host said: "As to TMV, the prices you find here are based on what people are paying and there will be some inevitable variation from one dealer to the next" but to be off by 2 grand on both new and used vehicles in a two week period is hardly acceptable...
There might have been some manufacturer-to-consumer rebates last month (anyone remember?), and those aren't calculated into TMV. More here.

The best price I've seen on the boards for a new 2004 is $21,900 for auto EX. I'd much rather pay that, than $19K for a used '02.

You may have missed a dealer insentive. If you got a quote at the end of September (The end of the quarter) the dealer may have been trying hard to make a quota breakpoint and was looking to move more cars that day or week. Come Oct. 1 the clock resets and the deals vanish.
The color may save you a few bucks but certainly not $2k.
You would think the estimated price for a 2003 would go down when the 2004's hit the lots. Strange that it went the other way.
BTW - I'm seeing about $19.8 for the LX AWD when I look at the TMV today.
Any chance you looked at an LX one time and an EX the next by mistake? Or manual Vs. Auto. Or w/side air bags, etc. There are lots of choices and it is easy to miss the defaults and settings sometimes.

Our car came in two-three weeks early, we are just getting the Accord prepped to sell. I drove the CRV home last night and didn't tell my wife. She went outside and looked at the car. She asked me why I drove this car home. I told her that when you buy a new car it is the only thing to do....the smile across her face was great!
Today we are going down to Lumber Liquidators and ordering our new floor...this seems to be a pattern....ordering and waiting! :-)

Hope this helps.
On another issue, I still believe that Honda creates this artificial demand for their vehicles by purposely cutting back on production. This allows them to command a premium price. This is more understandable on a new vehicle like the Pilot, but not ones that have been around for years. Last week I went to our local dealer in NJ to test drive a CRV, and they did not have any to drive. What a surprise! I will not buy a car I cannot test drive. Therefore, if I do buy a small suv,it will probably be a RAV4 or Forrester. How this benefits Honda in the long run I don't understand.
At the very least I would reconsider writing off Honda entirely due to a bad experience at one retailer. That's like saying you'll never eat at IHOP again because one restaurant burned your eggs or you'll never buy gasoline at Chevron again because one station had filthy restrooms.
I'd certainly take my business to a different Honda store if I determined they had wronged me and wouldn't make it right but I wouldn't go to a lesser vehicle just because one retailer was bad.
