Hello,

I have been pricing a lease on an 2016 acura mdx SHAWD w/tech, splash guards, back up sensors and body side molding, 12k/36 months. I had one dealer offer me an aggressive price of 47,422 with a MF of 0.00060 and a residual of 58%.

A second dealer came in with a price of 47,800 a MF of 0.00060 and a residual of 59%

They both say they use Acura Financial.

Can the Residual change from dealership to dealership?

I have noticed MF in this thread quoted at 0.00044 quoted in this thread. Can MF change from dealership to dealership as well?

What is the MSRP? Selling price? How many months?

MSRP is 50210, they did not give selling price, 36 months. Basically they have deal like 449/month and 3299 down, awd will add $40 more.

You should be able to do better than an advertised deal.

And, we don't recommend making a down payment on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Using the $56,020 MSRP, $51,900 selling price, .00044 MF and 58% residual, I get a payment of $628.12/mo with 9% tax.

Apologies ... 56% is the correct residual for 36/15. Somehow I thought it was 36/12, which would be 58%

question how do i calculate cost of accessories worth 1074.61 do they raise the sale price from 51,900 + 1074.61 = 52974 and then you calculate monthly lease or are accessories like heated steering wheel & hitch calculated differently ?

Accessories - if dealer installed - are not subject to residual values, so you'd have to pay 100% of the cost over the term of the lease. $1074.61/36 = $29.85/mo extra on the lease payment.

Where in Connecticut are you?  If you are in Fairfield County, don't forget to shop the dealers in New York as well.  Connecticut dealers charge outrageous "conveyance fees" which are capped in NY at $75.

don't use the $7000 you have in your trade equity as a cap cost reduction.  Use part of it to pay your upfront fees such as lease acquisition (bank fee) & DMV fees.  Let them write you a check for the rest.

The host will give you the correct money factor and residual value, then help you calculate the lease payment based on your MSRP and selling price.  Good luck shopping. And keep us posted.

With your prices, I get $535/mo + tax for 36/15, $507/mo + tax for 36/12.

I agree with the comments @nyccarguy posted - trade equity would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

Could I get the Money Factor and Residual values for Nov (MDX SH-AWD Tech/Ent) - 10K and 12K for 36 months. I thought MF is .00044 but a dealer in Va said its .00060.

.00044 is for advance models. Could this be clarified

That's true. They switched it up for November. Tech and Base models are .00060.

I actually need 12k miles, but even for 10k this sounds too high. What do you guys get?
Also, if I trade in does the trade allow me not to pay taxes to that amount, since I already paid? (thats what I read on WA taxes website)

Depends on how much of that $5000 goes towards CAP cost reduction.

Moving to 12K/yr reduces the residual by 1% and adds about $15/mo, to the payment.

Not sure how WA handles trade-in credit towards sales tax on a lease.

They gave me a "mileage" adjustment added to the residual of $1400 or so. Can't recall exact figure. Is that a normal thing? Why not just give m the correct residual?

$1400 for 3900 miles? That works out to about .36 per mile .. seems very high. That would add about $39/mo to your lease payment.

You might be better off going with a car that has 0 miles on it.

Yup, that's the place! I was really surprised when I went to the site to look at inventory (which I've been doing quite often as of late), only to find that they are closed!

I'm looking for 36 months/12000 miles. I'm not sure yet if I want the base mode with tech, or SH-AWD with tech.

I get $469/mo + tax with those numbers. Seems like a healthy discount from sticker and the base MF is being used.

Only way to improve on it is to negotiate a lower sale price.
