.00104 and 56%. With those prices, I get $684/mo before tax with $0 down.

Dealer may be marking up the MF on you, or the net cap cost is higher than the selling price. If the latter, find out why.

1) I was quoted $930/month 3yr/30k lease for 2016 GL450 MSRP $78,655 with $4,687 of tax/title/fees/etc due at signing. Or a one pay lease of $34,956 (which already includes the taxes and fees ) I live in NY. Is that a good deal?

2) In turn, I am turning in 2013 GL450 which had an MSRP of $74,440 that I did a one pay lease at $29,500 all in for 3yrs/30k. Why is the 2016 so much more in terms of one pay lease? I'm assuming it has to do with the residual diff bw the 2013 and the 2016?

ok thanks for the advice. they claim MB has halted production on the 2016 GL450 and supply is low across the country. they recommended i decide by end of Oct to take advantage of about 1500 in incentives so i guess the assumption could be 77,155 purchase price. considering that, is the $930/month and/or $34,956 one pay lease a good deal?

Definitely frustrated that I ordered a 2016 GL 450 and see the announcements about the 2017 refresh delivering in March but maybe will do a shorter lease. Was hoping to get the latest on the following (hoping the residual didn't go down given the '17 announcement):

Over the past few years the GL450 residual has been coming down. Remember when 24 month at 12K was 70% and 36 month at 36K was 63%. The money factor is still on the high side and discounts are harder due to supply and demand. A lot of SUV market for luxury is over seas with cost 3 X the amount higher than here. I am looking at 24 month lease now. I am going to give multiply security deposits or one pay which will lower the money factor.

I'm starting to think all dealers in the Twin Cities feast upon their residents that want to lease a 2016 GL550. The three dealers all have money factor rates for this vehicle above 0.00280. I have one dealer denying that the standard money factor is 0.0020 and 0.0022 per month. Can you please confirm again that this money factor is the standard money factor for a 2016 GL550 for the month of November for a 36 month term lease for 7,500 miles. Another point for everyone out there, which dealers are doing leases on the GL550 at the standard money factor rate. Please let me know as I'm really frustrated. I see no reason to pay a dealer several thousand dollars in profit on a lease.

The GL model is a hot commodity in the big SUV market. As a standard practice a lot of dealers markup the money factor, bank fee, and even add a dealer fee/prep fee. It is frustrating to deal with, and I can only say try to negotiate as much off the price to compensate for these numbers. The other option which I have thought about is to go find another vehicle/manufacturer where a better deal can be made.

We don't know what the exact "standard" MF is for MB leases, but believe it to be around .00200 - .00220. Yes, dealers will often mark up the MF on popular models, which the GL seems to be.

You might want to expand your search to Chicago - more dealers, more competition. All it takes is one dealer to meet your numbers to make a deal.

As noted by @mlevine you may also want to look at alternatives to the GL that lease better.

I getting ready to wave the white flag and give up. No deals on this vehicle and one is going to pay a lot to get one. By virtue of essentially no money available as part of the winter event, lower residual over the past few years, and still high money factor, if you want to play you gotta pay. I am going to hold out and see what the audi Q7 looks like and costs.
