Thanks, Michael. It is the same for both models. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks, Michael. It is the same for both models. Thanks in advance for your help.

Using an MSRP of $65,500 and a cap cost of $53,500, I get the following pre-tax payments for the E350 and E400 for 30 and 36 months:

    E350 - $513 (30) or $488 (36)
    E400 - $532 (30) or $496 (36)

Can you get that large of a discount on these models?

    Confirmed...those are the correct rates.

What rate is he giving you? Dealers can't alter residuals.

He's saying 58% residual instead of 61%. He's probably looking at wrong line or something. Will call him back.

The "standard" mileage allowance is 15K/yr, for almost all banks, including MBFS. So, that's the way it's listed. You have to add the 3% for 10K/yr. Which he probably failed to note.

Does the MF vary by region with MB like it does with some other manufacturers? If so, could you please share the MF and residuals for the E350 and the E400 for 36/15k in Kansas? I looked through the past few posts but I didn't see any requests for numbers with similar terms.

    Thanks!

Hoping to get some color on this deal/discussion about MSDs
These are deposits so they will be returned at lease end?
Any interest paid on the 3yr $6500?

what's the payment reduction of paying $6500 in deposits?

    Thanks.

    Yes.. they are refundable.

No interest paid, but in return, they are reducing the money factor on the lease.

The savings will vary, depending on payment, etc.. $20-$50 per month, in general.

Can you provide money factor, residual and any cash incentives for E350 sport rwd? I'm looking for lowest miles and "sweet spot" with respect to term so could go from 24-36 months and 7,500 miles/yr is no problem. Coming off a 27 month lease on a '14 E350 sport. I'm in SoCal. Thanks!

I did not remember the exactly amount, but should be $51,000, currently incentive they told me is $3000 only.
I used the Edmund calculate own car lease payment method please see if I am right or not?

    $61,130-$51,000=$10,130
    $61130 x 0.54= $33,010
    $ 51,000-$ 33,010= $17,990 /36 = $500
    $ 61,130 x 0.00043 =$ 26
    tax: $526 x 8.75% = $ 57
So monthly payment should be $ 583 with $0 drive off?
If they asked me to have $1,138 pay for the drive off, $ 1138/36= $31, then monthly payment will be
    $583-31= $562

Not sure if this calculation is right?

    Thanks

The math is not quite right - the "rent charge" is calculated by adding the the cap cost and residual, then multiplying by the MF.

So, the pre-tax payment is $536; adding 8.75% tax still gets to $583/mo.

The drive off amount is probably not included in the cap cost, so you can't back it out of the payment if you pay it up front.

I would confirm what the $1138 includes and what is added to the cap cost.

    Just a comment....

I've looked into leasing a reasonably equipped 16 E350 4matic. The dealer despite some very heavy negotiation is not willing to go under invoice (whatever that number really is despite what can be found). They still expect a "profit" number over their invoice, say 775. The 3,000 advertised customer cash is deemed (at least by the dealer) as the most they'll offer in a deal. They do not want to discount any further. It is at best a very standard deal. In 2010 when the W212 E350 4m came out, I got the car 750 over invoice (I'm not talking with the same dealer that sold me the 2010 model).

The 3,000 is MB customer cash as advertised by MB. They wouldn't discount the customer cash beyond their invoice plus an invoice. Maybe it is this dealer, however are the deals being posted invoice (or invoice + a few hundred bucks) minus the 3K MB customer cash? I'm not seeing big discounts. My argument is that MB is fronting the 3K, not the dealer. The dealer didn't want to move beyond a standard deal IMO.

If this is the case (at least in this instance), there aren't spectacular deals on these cars being at their absolute end of their model year. Once you sign for the car and drive off the lot, it has lost a huge amount of money. MF is .00029 (base rate). Residual for 7,500 is 58%. I believe in this case the dealer isn't touching any of their hold-back. I think there's more available as looking at the site and other sources. Just some thoughts....

I got a quote from a dealer yesterday. Please comment if it looks like a good deal. Thanks.

    E350W4 Lease
    MSRP $61,930
    Selling Price $55,989
$4,118.04 total due at sign (including 1st. month payment, registration, DOC, Bank fee and tax up front) assuming you are registering in NJ
    $630.88/mo. x remaining 35 months
    12k/yr.

The dealer seems to be open to knocking down another 2k off the MSRP, making the selling price at $53,989.

    Thanks for the input

Using your MSRP and the $53,989 selling price, along with the .00039 MF and 56% residual for 36/12, I get a payment of $571/mo.

Ask the dealer what the net cap cost is - if higher than the selling price, find out what's been added to it.

    36/10 numbers for the E400 4Matic Coupe are 60% and .00111.

Using your MSRP and selling price, I get $706/mo. I'm assuming you are paying all your taxes up front with the $3033.

Confirm the net capitalized cost - if higher than the $62K selling price, find out what the dealer has added.

What I've seen despite being told to the dealer how to structure the lease is the reluctance to keep bank fees, doc. fees, and other costs out of the basic lease conversation. The dealer seems to want them back into their "Star Lease" program. I've leased several MB's over the last 8 years, and it was not difficult. However this time is different....breaking out the costs can make a big difference in the cost of the lease.

If you're willing to pay a downpayment, doc fee, bank fee outside of the basic cost of the lease the monthly goes down. This is important for states that have a high lease tax, like PA which his currently at 9%. That means your downpayment is taxed + 9%, your bank fees are taxed plus 9% and your doc fees are taxed + 9%. If you factor that into the lease you are paying state tax plus interest. Given the low MF, still it can drive up your payment.

An issue with the dealer is if they "stuff" costs into a lump due at signing and do not explain what that is comprised of. You should never sign a lease unless this is clearly disclosed. If the dealer is resistant on breaking out the costs despite two attempts with clear explanation how the lease should be structured perhaps you should look at another dealer.

First post here and I'm hoping to see what people are paying on this vehicle in New Jersey:

    2016 E400 4Matic Coupe
    Premium 2 Package
    Sport Package
    Illuminated Star
    Rear Deck Spoiler
    Chrome Handle Inserts
    Rear Camera
Total w/ Destination and Delivery: $67,790

    36/10
$3,033 at Signing (1st Mo. Payment, Bank Fee ($895), MV, DOC and Luxury Tax)
    35 Payments @ $778/mo

Sales Rep claims he knocked the MSRP down to around $62,000.

Thank you for any and all input.

Thanks, Michael! I haven't leased in quite a long time, so it's nice to have a place to compare prices. $72/mo is large difference. Will have to look into this.

I confirm the MF and RV, though the RV will be adjusted downward for the miles.

I get $463/mo plus tax with your prices. What payment are you being quoted?

    Michaell,

Thank you for your response. They haven't given me a quote yet. There will be $795 fee for acquisition. I will not accept the deal if it is more than $485.22 including the acquisition fee. I will pay out of pocket for all Title and doc fees.

What RV do you think I should get for miles already on it?

    Thank you again,

    Vince

RV is adjusted on a per mile basis ... don't know the exact rate, but figure .15-.25 per mile, deducted from the calculated residual.

    2016 - E350 4MATIC LUXURY - 4517 MILES
    36 MONTHS - 15000 MILES/YEAR
    MSRP = $56525
    AGREED VALUE = $46000
    GROSS CAPITAL COST = $48204.99
    CAPITAL COST REDUCTION = $596.37
    ADJUSTED CAPITAL COST = $47608.62

    RV = $30220.10 (Deducted $0.20/mile)
RENT CHARGE (MF) = $1092.44 (0.00039 with Auto Pay)
    DEPRECIATION CHARGE = $17388.52
TOTAL OF BASE MP = $18480.96
    BASE MP = $513.36

    AGREED VALUE = $46000
    ACQUISITION FEE = $795
UPFRONT SALES TAX (IL) = $1409.99 (Tax is supposed to be 7.25%)

    Hi kyfdx,

I ran the numbers and it looks pretty good to me also. Maybe sleeping on it helped :) You guys rock!

I haven't signed the docs yet because they want to charge $595 for disposition at the end of lease!!! I am walking if they don't take that off!

    Regards.

That's charged by the bank. The dealer can't waive it.

    Almost every lease has one.
