Got an offer in NY on the Maxima 3.5SL for 405/month (which includes the tax rolled in) with fees up front for 36/15. Maintenance thrown in for full duration of lease. Good deal?

What is the MSRP? What is the adjusted cap cost, with all taxes and fees added in?
Is the following a realistic deal on the same model: $34,286 - 2,075 (rebate) = 32,211 $700 up front for fees with a 381.64/mo with the taxes rolled in?
Is the $34,286 the MSRP? You should be able to get a discount in addition to the available incentives.
I'm currently working a deal on an SL too. Msrp is $39805, selling price including $2075 lease cash $33125. They gave me a payment quote of $389/36mos/12k miles/yr. All in, No money down, sign and drive.

The number you need to know is the adjusted CAP cost. And, an explanation for the difference between the selling price and that number.

Yeah, I received all these numbers via email from the internet mgr. Very tough to get numbers out of him without being at the dealer, which I will not do until I have a firm deal. So far he's given me the best lease payment out of 3 dealers I've talked to. I talked to him yesterday and he told me they are selling the car for $2500 below invoice.
Here's what I have: Msrp 39805, selling price 33,125, residual 21,494.70, mv fees 604.40 and sales tax 941.94. There's probably still a doc fee, acquisition fee that he didn't give me yet.
Dealer is telling me $389/mo incl tax for 36mos, 12k miles /yr., sign n drive.
Looks like the rebate is already included in the selling price.
To get to $389/mo., you need $2300 in charges on top of that selling price.
With the first payment rolled in, I get $2232.. Close enough.
Good Deal?
Only way to make it better is to get a lower selling price.
Easier said than done. I tried and the dealer gave me the good old sob story. "We're already selling the car 2500 under invoice" How much under invoice can they go?
Disregard last post. Here's all the numbers:
MSRP 39805
Sale Prce 33125
MF .00003
Resid 54%
Tire tax 7.50
Online filing fee 8.90
Aquisition fee 595
NJ tax 941.94
Doc fee 289
Rebate 2075
Residual 21494.70

I have a feeling you're right, but what's strange is this is the first and only quote I got for them. Weird for a dealer to give you a rock bottom deal right out the gate.

Can I get the Boston Massachusetts residual and MF for a 2015 and 2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum for 36/15, please? Any lease cash or other incentive? Thank you

Can someone help me understand how to use the MF in the calculation of the lease payment? Is it (Adj CAP+RV) X .00003? So for cars in the price range of the Maxima and a 54% residual it's working out to like $2 per month? I must be doing something wrong. Thanks.
Just for background.....I'm in the Cincinnati area and I'm looking into a lease on a 2016 Platinum for 36 months/15K miles. I was thinking of putting $1,000 down + taxes/fees + 1st month payment at signing. I haven't starting working with any dealers yet to get a price or MF or RV. I assume from what I've been reading on here that the MF will be .00003 and the RV will be 53% or 54%. I also have 8 payments remaining on my current lease, which amounts to about $2,700. I'm curious to see what kind of payment I'll end up getting quoted. The good news is that I am under on miles on my current lease, so I don't have to pull the trigger until February if I can't get a good deal now.

That is the correct formula. Given that the MF equates to a .07% APR, the rent charge is a ridiculously low amount.

No reason to put any money down beyond inception costs - that money is at risk if the car is stolen or totaled.
54% residual for 36/15.
That $2700 remaining in your lease has to be paid if you want to exit the lease early.
Here's the deal I just ended up making with my dealer yesterday. Platinum edition MSRP $41,935. Negotiated price $36,780. Adj Cap $35,801, which includes $1,796 cash I paid them for for taxes, first month payment and some money down (which I know is a risk). MF .00003. RV 53%. Ended up with a payment of $379 for 36 months and 15,000 miles. In addition, they ate over $2,700 for 8 remaining lease payments on my old Maxima. I feel pretty good about the deal. Anyone wany to burst my bubble?
Sounds solid. Only thing I might of done is not put down any money, and gone for higher payments. Just me. Great deal overall for a 42k car though. I saw your post on maxima.org as well. Enjoy the car. Got mine a few weeks ago and I'm loving it.

Doesn't look like much of the up front money was used for cap reduction.

I am sitting here with my mouth open. Why? Because this is really the first time I am going through the exercise of filling out a spreadsheet a buddy of mine has been using for years. I've been leasing for the last 10, thought I was making out okay....I'm currently paying $319/month for a 2013 Maxima BASE MODEL!!!!! I am ending this lease in a couple of weeks and now I'm out for blood!! LOL j/k but seriously now I want a REALLY good deal. Congrats on the GREAT price!!! I am running my numbers and am hoping to come up with something similar.

So I am working off a spreadsheet my friend has been using for years. What does your credit score need to be in order to get it down to $319/month? His spreadsheet doesn't mention anything about this, for the same car (Maxima platinum edition) I am seeing 39960 MSRP (from Nissan website), TrueCar price 34823. Adj Cap 30749, which includes the 34823 TrueCar price, less $1999 cash I plan to put down (taxes, first month payment and whatever else (bank fees, etc) and less2075 lease cash as mentioned above. MF .00003, RV 55% in NY. Residual Value comes out to 21978. Depreciation comes out to 8771, this is for a 36 month lease, monthly depr is $243.64. Interest is $1.58/month (adj cap cost 30749 + resid val 21978, * MF .00003). Lease payment = monthly depr 243.64 + interest 1.58 + tax 21.15 = 266.37/month?????? Is this right???
If you would like me to upload the spreadsheet or email it, please let me know.

I'm not sure I follow all of your numbers.
First, any website price quote may include incentives that are not applicable for a lease.
But, let's say you could get that .. how do you go from $34,823 to $30,749 if you are only putting $2075 down? The $1999 is used for start up costs and won't reduce the cap cost.

Michael is there any way I can send you the spreadsheet I am working off of?
34,823 TrueCar value, less 2075 lease cash incentive, less 1999 cash down = 30,749. That is according to this spreadsheet.
I'm assuming "lease cash incentive", as mentioned by Marc1022 on June 12, is applicable?

I thought the $1999 was for the up front costs - acquisition fee, dealer fee, first payment, DMV costs. If not, then I understand your numbers.
And, I don't have any information on Nissan incentives.
Guys I'm sorry, since I am new to this I would like to confirm everything in this spreadsheet is correct, that these formulas make sense and the numbers are accurate. Your help is extremely appreciated. I've attached a Word document of screenshot I took of the spreadsheet my friend sent me. Column A lists the titles of each row, Column O lists formulas, if any.
Please review and comment if certain sections do not belong, calculations are incorrect, where am I getting specific numbers from, etc. Again, thank you very much for helping with this. I plan on searching inventory this week and going into the dealerships next weekend.

Well.. lines 7 through 12 are basically your input. How accurate or achievable those numbers are, we couldn't say. (For instance, is the $1999 you reference a CAP cost reduction, in addition to 1st payment, etc, due at signing? Or, is it the full amount due at signing? If it's the latter, then the way you've applied it will skew your calculations).
But, the spreadsheet calculations for the payment are good. This is assuming you are in a state that taxes the payment, each month. If the tax is collected upfront, then that will change things up, as well.

I started from the beginning, entered my Long Island NY zip code, chose 2016 Maxima. Then, I chose the different trims and it provided me it's TrueCar estimate (choosing different colors changes it a few dollars up or down).
Line 3 is the MSRP I got from NissanUSA's website. That will change as well as the dealerships offer trims with various options and that brings the MSRP up or down.
Line 8 is a Geico customer incentive, Line 10 someone on this forum told me there is 2,075 lease cash back incentive this month.
So line 12 is what I plan to put down.....full amount due at signing = first month's payment and whatever else is due up front (don't recall at this moment).
How should I apply this when making my calculations? Is this being applied incorrectly? Please advise.

Nassau County Long Island NY tax rate is 8.625%.
NYS taxes the sum of the pre-tax payments, along with any taxable items paid upfront (acquisition fee, cap cost reduction, etc) and then collects that amount upfront. You can roll that into the CAP cost, effectively amortizing it over the term of the lease, but it will result in a slight difference from the method you calculated.
Also, in your calculation of CAP cost (line 12), you should only enter the amount of your upfront payment that is applied as CAP cost reduction. The portion for first payment, acquisition fee, tax on upfront items, etc, should not be part of this number, as those parts do not reduce the CAP cost.
For lines 7 through 12, you might leave those blank, until you get some real-world offers, to see how they match up.

We don't have incentive information, but there probably are some. Maximas have been leasing for relatively low payments, according to our members.

If you would like me to upload the spreadsheet or email it, please let me know.
First, any website price quote may include incentives that are not applicable for a lease.
But, let's say you could get that .. how do you go from $34,823 to $30,749 if you are only putting $2075 down? The $1999 is used for start up costs and won't reduce the cap cost.

34,823 TrueCar value, less 2075 lease cash incentive, less 1999 cash down = 30,749. That is according to this spreadsheet.
I'm assuming "lease cash incentive", as mentioned by Marc1022 on June 12, is applicable?
And, I don't have any information on Nissan incentives.

Please review and comment if certain sections do not belong, calculations are incorrect, where am I getting specific numbers from, etc. Again, thank you very much for helping with this. I plan on searching inventory this week and going into the dealerships next weekend.
But, the spreadsheet calculations for the payment are good. This is assuming you are in a state that taxes the payment, each month. If the tax is collected upfront, then that will change things up, as well.

Line 7 is from TrueCar website: https://www.truecar.com/prices-new/nissan/maxima-pricing/2016/B6B14C40/
