.00135 MF and 60% residual. $1500 lease credit.

Sales tax is irrelevant in this quote, as leases are taxed monthly in CA.
You'll also have to add in $925 acquisition fee.

A lot of that detail is for a purchase. You'll notice they never disclose money factor or residual. Just give you the purchase numbers, then those magically become payments and cash due at the bottom.


Your cap, given the numbers above, should be $39,186. (Final price + $925 acq.fee minus $1500 lease credit)

$439/mo.+tax with (1st payment + $502) due at signing. The $502 is the rest of those fees.

So, if your tax rate is 8.5%, then $476/mo. with $978 due at signing.

Add 2% to the residual for 36/12.

Check with the MO Dept of Revenue website - they may have information on how leases are taxed.

Even if the taxes are calculated for the entire lease, you can add them to the cap cost to minimize the up front costs.

Curious to see if anything is different for residuals/MF on the new 330e plug-in right now, or if that model is getting the same treatment as the rest of the 3 Series lineup. I'm looking at a 36/10 in San Diego, CA, if that makes a difference. Also strongly inclined to look into Euro Delivery, I hear that makes a difference in MF as well.

Question on the lease credit too: Is that a BMWFS offer above and beyond the sale price negotiated with the dealer, or is that credit considered more of a dealer contribution?

Add .00030 for ED

The lease credit is an incentive from BMW, but you can be sure the dealer is including it in any negotiated price. Take that into account and aim low.

BMW numbers expire today ... 58% and .00135 for 36/15. $1500 lease cash. Add 2% for 12K

No idea what will happen to the numbers next month. Probably not a huge change, but that's just a guess.

Looking at lease offers posted on BMW USA site the residuals appear to have went up a couple of points for April (e.g., 64% for 36/10k on 340xi).
Could someone please confirm if there is still lease cash available?

Dealer is offering a 340i xdrive (MSRP: $62195, negotiated price; $57350), $780/month on a 36/12 lease, with only first months' payment due at signing. I'm in MD where the sales tax is 6% He said he is rolling all the fees into the lease. Most lease calculators I've tried are showing me a lower #, but he said he's using the correct deductible and MF (62% and .00135). Is this monthly payment in the ballpark?

Most lease calculators won't handle taxes correctly for a full-tax state like Maryland.

To calculate correctly, add $925 to the CAP cost for acq.fee, then $3500 for sales tax, then another $400 or so for title/registration/dealer fees.

So, MSRP of $62195 and adjusted CAP cost of $62,175. Enter those variables, along with MF and residual percentage, and leave everything else blank.

Doing that, I get about $792/mo., so yes.. .in the ballpark. Of course, I estimated some of those numbers. Lease taxes are high in MD.

With $1,000 cap cost reduction and nothing else down where can I expect to be? I am in Ohio with 7.5% tax but only on lease not full p. price. Also what is MF and resid? Gotta negotiate your best price before we can figure a payment. Then, you have to account for the up front costs of a lease - dealer fee, acquisition fee, first payment, etc. $1000 won't cover all that.

I agree with the math, but ...

1) The MF after 7 MSDs should be .00086; base MF is .00135 this month. Dealer is marking that up on you.
2) You are correct, tax is applied to the monthly payment in CA. Ask the dealer what the $1500 in up front tax is supposed to represent.
3) Lease protection is a good deal ... for the dealer. If you take good care of your car, you shouldn't need it.

Considering leasing a former loaner 2016 328i x-drive with 6,150 miles on it. Asking for 3 year/36k mile lease. The new MSRP is $49,995, dealer is quoting $43,992 ask price with $1788.84 due at sign for $511.59 a month. Anyone have experience/recommendations for a BMW loaner lease? What's a reasonable discount off the MSRP for the loaner miles, 20%? PA tax is 9% on car leases, I don't like the idea of any up front expenses minus the first month payment for a lease. What should I expect for residuals/MF on a "new" 2016 loaner with that kind of mileage?

Can you do better on the selling price? Hard to say. You definitely want more than $1414 extra off, compared to a new unit, otherwise, why get a loaner?

Thanks! I was thinking the loaner could be a good deal for a car with a lot of options I want at a price <500 a month that I can afford. Seems like new 2016s with those options hover around $600. Little leary on the wear and tear factor but it still has the warranty coverage. Also April doesn't seem like a great lease month, no rebates, or incentives from BMWFS..my thought was I could negotiate the sales price to 20% off MSRP to try and get it to 39,500 and then roll in up front costs into lease payments..

Can you do better on the selling price? Hard to say. You definitely want more than $1414 extra off, compared to a new unit, otherwise, why get a loaner?

Thanks! I was thinking the loaner could be a good deal for a car with a lot of options I want at a price <500 a month that I can afford. Seems like new 2016s with those options hover around $600. Little leary on the wear and tear factor but it still has the warranty coverage. Also April doesn't seem like a great lease month, no rebates, or incentives from BMWFS..my thought was I could negotiate the sales price to 20% off MSRP to try and get it to 39,500 and then roll in up front costs into lease payments..</p>

20% off sticker seems ambitious. But, read back through the last page or two of this discussion to see what others have been able to negotiate.

While the lease incentives went away for April, the residual value went up 3% to compensate.
