2016 BMW 3-series Lease Questions

Where is the sales tax? MD is one of a handful of states that applies tax to the entire selling price, which inflates the lease payment relative to most other states.

Correction, that is what I was missing from the price point and I didn't know Tax applies to the entire selling price. Sadly I can't remember the numbers they showed me. I can only play with the numbers I know now....so if I caculate with sales tax and everything I get 45553 as Sale Price. Thank you!

I can only play with the numbers I know now....so if I caculate with sales tax and everything I get 45553 as Sale Price. Thank you! 



The MF can't be marked up more than .00040 (or .00178 total). Could this be less than perfect credit affecting the MF?

No changes in the MF for June ... still .00138. So, still being marked up by the dealer.

If I custom order and lock in with June rates, when my car is delivered can I use the rates for that month if they are better? Can I apply incentives at the time of delivery if they are offering any? Thanks!

.00138 and 60%.

You can use either the MF/RV of the month you are ordering or the MF/RV of the month in which the car is delivered. Cannot mix and match numbers.

- Heated Front Seats
- Black Kidney Grills

- MSRP - $56,225

- Residual - 63%
- Acquisition Fee - $925 (built into lease)

No down payment or MSD paid and only $ out of pocket is first months payment (678.85)+ Doc Fee (250) + Reg and Tag fee (33.50) = $982.50 out of pocket.

Tax is 7.5%

Using your prices, I get $647/mo with the .00150 MF and $635/mo with the .00138 MF.

Confirm the cap cost.

I would use the $2500 for 4 MSDs, lowering the MF to .00110 and the payment to $609/mo. You'll get that money back at the end of the lease. That's a 12% return on the investment.

Am wondering if this is worth the hassle versus a new convertible. I'm fine with the 3 series as well. Do you know what I can negotiate currently on a lease for a new bmw convertible lease.

.00138 MF and 60% residual for 36/15.

I believe that extra miles reduce the residual by $0.18/mi, or $2700 for a 36/20 lease. It could be a higher rate than that, though.

There is no 3-series convertible. The convertible is a 4-series.

That's probably cheaper than you can lease a new one.

You would need a CAP cost of about $46,250 to get a payment of $499 including 8% tax.

For a 2015 328xi with 3000 miles, I get 490/mo including sales tax for 7 MSDs and inception costs at signing. I am getting stuck because the residual value is so low. The dealer says its 43% of Msrp. The RV is .00129. The sale price is 38000. I don't know what the new price msrp was, but the car has a good amount of optional equipment.

My question is, can I press the dealer to lower the price by 3000? I want to get the payment to 400/ mo including tax.

The MF is marked up the max if the post MSD MF is .00129 - it should be .00089.

36/15 residual is 52%; the 42/15 residual is 43%. You want the 36 month term.

We would need to know the original MSRP to tell you if another $3k discount is possible.

Keep in mind, the residual is reduced to account for the current mileage on the vehicle.

What lease term and how many miles per year? What is the adjusted capitalized cost? What does the $4900 cover at signing?

How much in fees should I expect on a lease in MA? I am being quoted roughly $1,525 up front (excluding 1st month's payment) to cover bank, doc, dmv fees. Are they inflating some of those numbers?

No - bank fee is now fixed by BMWFS at $925. Doc fees are imposed by the dealer and the DMV by the state.

The $4900 seems like a lot ... $925 bank fee, a few hundred for the dealer fee, $1000 or so for taxes, plus DMV costs is nowhere near $4900. I'd ask for a detailed breakdown.

I get $404/mo with those numbers (63% residual and .00089 MF), so pretty close to your dealer quote.
