Not enough information .... we would need to know the MSRP and the negotiated selling price as well.

Does the $250/mo include tax? What is the breakdown of the $2000 up front?

My intent is to email several dealers at once stating how much I can give down ($2K, drive off), and how much I'm looking to pay in monthly payments ($250, flat after tax) for a 36M/12K lease, and leave it up to them to find me the Accord Coupe EX-L that would match those parameters (then, hopefully causing them to try to outmatch each other).

I'm hoping someone will be able to make it work. Can I ask....

Don't negotiate the payment; negotiate the selling price to get the lowest payment.

It's a factory to dealer incentive. Use the knowledge to get your best price.

Lease cash is a factory to dealer incentive and is subject to tax. It is usually used to lower the cap cost but can also be used to offset the upfront costs associated with the lease.

Offer for 2016 accord v6 with navigation and sensing is 28,523.  What other incentives are they taking into account to get at what I think is below invoice of 28,537 after 2% holdback?  Should I push for lower?  Many thanks for your help.  Will post results for others when I'm done.

There is $750 lease cash that the dealer can factor into their pricing.

One final question.  Is the residual value the same for an exl v6 12k miles with navigation as the residual value for a v6 without?  I assume the interest rate remains the same.  Thank you!

Hey migraine I think the reason for that might be because of where your credit score is...you might be tier 2.

It sounds like a significant markup, and I believe they can try to mark up the money factor if they want. The money factor on my zero down lease was .00041. The moderators here made me aware of the money factor reduction of .0001 on zero down leases with Honda. It appears you should get some bids from other dealerships.

Yes, I am top tier and pre approved through Honda.  Good to know about the reduction on zero down leases.  They're just trying to snow me.  Now they're telling me that price quoted was for purchase not lease.  Haven't stepped in showroom yet because prefer to settle on price by email.  Sales price should be the same whether it's a lease or purchase - one is a sale to me and the other is a sale to Honda Lease Trust. I'm in MA. Thanks for the tip.

I can say most salesman are out to snow you....I know this because last week before I made my deal I shook hands on a deal at another dealership that I said I would be back for in a week...a week went by and I came back on January 31st and the number he gave me was night and day compared to the first number...he said the numbers have changed? Changed...it's still January... The money factor ..residual value and the $750 cash lease still stands....after 4-5 deals going back and forth he came back and said were done. I walked out and went to another dealership and got the number I wanted.....it took about 2 months of calling and and visiting dealerships but I got the number I wanted ...

Posting sales price in case it helps others out. $28,334 for Accord EX-L V6 with navigation.  I live in MA and used the information here, plus the Edmunds Price Promise to get quotes from dealers.  Negotiated everything by email because I told them I would come in to sign only after we've finalized the terms.  I encountered some pretty slick people but was able to prove to them that I knew my stuff thanks to this site. 

One quick question.  Zero down means you roll the first month's payment into lease?

Yes, $0 out of pocket means everything is rolled into the cap cost, including the first payment.

Highly highly doubt those newspaper deals stand to be true...they roll similar deals near me and when you go in they have some lame excuse why they can't give you that pricing...the sport accor 2016 comes out to $175 a month if you price in the the $1000 down and $149 a month....that's impossible... I shopped that car out and the only car you might be able to get for that price is the 2015 Honda CIVIC LX and that's stretching it.

$225 is probably the lowest you will get for an accord sport..thats exactly what I'm paying give or take a few dollars...and that's with as little out of pocket as possible ....

I know someone paying $300 a month for an LX.

NY calculates the tax on a lease up front .. either you pay it at lease inception or it gets added in to the selling price. Same with the acquisition fee and other up front costs.

So, we'd need to know the net cap cost in order to model a payment.

Lease numbers are correct (57% and .00051)

Also, they are quoting $895 acquisition fee. I thought a $595 fee would be standard and set by honda finance. Is it possible they are marking up the acquisition fee?

53% is correct.

The Honda acquisition fee is $595. If they are quoting $895, then they are hiding their own $300 fee. When you see the actual lease paperwork, it would probably be evident. Honda doesn't allow their fee to be marked up.
