Looking at an "Executive model" 2015 BMW X5d w/ about 9,000 miles on it. Comparing the 2015 to an new 2016 with the $1,500 option credit. I will be buying the executive model as a "new car" so I can still lease. Hoping I can get it for around $52,000, MSRP is $62,025.

Email from dealer:

The residual for the 2015 X5 models for 10K miles is 54%, 12K miles is 53% and 15K miles is 51%.

For a 2016 version, it would be 58% for 10K miles, 57% for 12K miles and 55% for 15K miles.

Is this correct and current?

Yes.. those are the correct residuals. Of course, the 2015 model will have that residual reduced to account for the present mileage.

2015 X5 sDrive - .00132 and 53%. $2000 buildout allowance
2016 X5 sDrive - .00132 and 58%. $1500 option allowance.

Those numbers are correct for the X5M.

The incentives and MF are consistent for all X5's, but the residual varies slightly by model.

They are giving me 29,000 for the Mercedes. I owe 28,100 on it. Net cap cost is 74,845. 3,000 is first months payment, title, dealer fees, etc. I'm waiting for them to send me a breakdown of the 3k. Haven't signed any lease paperwork yet, just a sales order.

Only way to improve on the deal is to negotiate a lower selling price or use MSD to buy down the MF.

Too High indeed!.... Not only is the discount awful, they marked up the MF! BMW allows them to do it...but imo that's a dealer that needs a little competition. There are many BMW dealers now who will do deals outside of their states. I'm in FL and working with a dealer in CA because the pricing here is just awful.

My guess is that there are some fees added into the cap cost which is inflating the payment.

The calculations are correct. But, with $3000 of incentives on this model, I'd want a bigger discount. Only about $2000 off MSRP (3%) in addition to the incentive.

I would also roll the tax and the acquisition fee into the CAP cost. $3000 less upfront and $87/mo. more on the payment.

Generally, 5-7% off MSRP before incentives is a good target for BMW.
