This is May deal, I need your suggestion and does it look right? I didn't understand capital reduction and I don't know if I have more room to negotiate here.

The capital reduction is the lease equivalent to a down payment. It is something we do not recommend – if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

it is better for you to use that cash as a multiple security deposit, this will buy down the money factor and you get the money returned to you at the end of the lease.

you are getting a pretty nice discount from sticker. Not sure there is much more room to negotiate. And, you were getting the face money factor, which is also good

Thank you very much, will try to go low on the down. Can you let me know how much will be the payment with $0 down, also does BMW dealers allow $0 down?

    @jake1219

The dealer came up with the amount of your CAP cost reduction to hit a target monthly price of under $500 pre-tax. It's not a random amount, at all.

With just license, registration, dealer doc fee and 1st payment upfront ($1237), the payment would be $637/mo.+tax or $688/mo. total.

Thank you Michaell and kyfdx. The dealer was very nice, knew what we needed. We put security deposit also went with 12kmiles which drop the MF, also they gives us insurance which covers all the expenses including tries & normal wear & tear, which be less headache while ending the lease because tire itself is $650 each. We paid 1850 for insurance & roll over to payment. $756/month we believe is awesome for us with 12k miles/yrs.

Here's the deal I'm looking at for a xDrive40e. I can't decide if I should pull the trigger or wait until June or July to see if any better rebates/incentives come out. My current 335i lease matures in July. Suggestions?

    MSRP: $75,670
    Sale Price: $69,250
    BMW Rebate: $3,000
    USAA Rebate: $500
    Acquisition Fee: $925
Taxes: $0 (military exempt in WA)
    Total Cap Cost: $66,675

    Terms: 12k/36
    Residual: 58%
    MF: .00138

I realize I'm looking at about 12% off MSRP but I keep thinking BMW might bring back the $1k loyalty incentive and increase the xDrive40e rebate back to $5k. My current lease isn't up until the end of July so I have time to decide, or I could take advantage of the pull ahead program and re-up now. Decision, decisions....

No idea if the numbers will get better or worse over the next couple of months. In general, the residual goes down the later in the model year you get, but BMW could up the incentive amount to compensate.

$786/mo with the numbers you provide.

Thanks for the reply. Is that unusual for programs to run for 60 days? Even if the terms don't change, I thought they only published a month at a time.

Do you know if there are any rebates available beside the $1,000 for a previous BMW financial customer?

It depends, sometimes the programs run for one month, sometimes for two.

    No other incentive information available.

I really need some help understanding this one. I'm pretty good about understanding lease terms but this one seriously has me stumped. The first quote I received was with the inflated .00178 MF. I ran the numbers on my lease calculator and it was identical. After getting the dealership to lower the MF to the .00138 is when the numbers didn't add up anymore. I ran several different lease calculators and was getting $782.24/month with nothing down, and $756.34/month if I paid the $925 acquisition fee and $7.20 licensing fee up front. The dealer's numbers had me paying around $805 with nothing down, and $775 after putting down $1k at closing. I should also mention that I'm exempt from paying any sales tax on the vehicle so this shouldn't effect the $3000 incentive, at least I don't think it should. I really would like to know if I'm doing something wrong in my calculations. Thanks

    .00138 and 58% for 36/12 on the xDrive40e.

With your MSRP and adjusted cap cost, I get a payment of $782.24/mo - just like you.

So, the only variable in this is the adjusted cap cost - confirm with the dealer what number they are using in their calculations.

    Looking to lease a BMW X5 M

    MSRP - $99,795
    Selling Price - $93,490
    10,000 miles
    36 months
Taxes, bank fees, and first month paid upfront = $6200 (per dealer) -- asking them to itemize it via email.

    $1,189/month

    I'm in NYS 8.875 tax

How is this looking? Thanks in advance

Is the selling price the cap cost, since you are paying all the taxes and fees up front?

    .00138 and 60%

With your prices, I get $1145/mo.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer.

I get $582/mo with those numbers (60% residual).

So, confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer - if higher than the selling price (and I'm sure it will be), find out what's been added. It's about a $4200 difference.

Can you comment on this X5 40e lease?

How can I use multiple MSD's to drop the MF? Would multiple MSD's reduce my drive off - since it gets returned?? My goal is to get the TOTAL cost of the lease below $17K if possible.

    MSRP: $66,145
    Selling Price: $58,988
    Money Factor: .00143
    12k miles per year
    24 months

    $6,500 + $1,500 employee rebate + $3,000 Lease rebate= $11,000 Cap Reduction (Only $6,500 coming from you)

    $1,140.48 Tax on cap reduction
    $523 DMV Fees
    $399.45 First months Payment
    $925 Acquisition Fee
    $80 Doc fee

    Total Inception Fees= $14,074
Total Cash Out of pocket from you=$9,574.93
    Payment $364.79 plus tax = $399.45

    =============================================
Saw this on the BMW forum and trying to understand:
    -----------------------------------------------
    MSRP: $79120
Sale Price: $71710 (including $1K corporate fleet discount)

After 7 MSDs my monthly payment is $877 (including 9.75% tax).

Drive off (first payment, $925 acquisition, $80 doc fee plus $6300 for MSDs): $8190
    After $3K BMW rebate on X5 40e: $5190

I will also get $1K back from BMW CCA. So essentially I'm making $2K+ from the drive off considering I will get the full $6300 back at lease end

To get to a total cost of $17K, you need to take out $7000 in costs from your current offer. Don't see how that is going to happen.

    That's correct. They provided the $3000 rebate + $1500 loyalty + $7250 off sticker.

We pulled the plug, turned in our 535i and just picked it up and brought it home!

How does the combination of down payment and MSD's work? If I receive a lease quote with $6500 down can I use 7 MSD's to pay the majority of that $6500 like you did? Can I use any combination of MSD's and down payment $$ to make up the $6500? I assume you will be getting your MSD's back when you return the lease. This seems like too good to be true strategy... Can you educate me?

    MF: 0.00089

Monthly Payment (with 8.1% tax): $622.56

Total Drive Off: $7350 (includes 1st Mo payment, BMW Acquis Fee of $925, Doc Fee of $195, AZ Vehicle License Tax of $1043, Registration Fees of $15 and $4550 for 7 MSD)

    36 months/10K per year.

Pull ahead 3 lease payments ($650 each) on 2014 535i.

No, you can't replace cash due at signing with MSDs and get the same payment. Though you might save money in the long term (because you get the MSDs back at lease end), your payment will actually go up.

Correct, you cant replace cash due at signing with MSDs. In my case, the entire cap cost reduction was provided by the dealer through lease rebate, loyalty incentive and discount off sticker. My cash down payment strictly covered the costs, taxes and fees associated with the lease and the 7MSDs.

By the way, the dealer had two other exactly equipped X5 X40e (one white, one grey) with the same discount off sticker available.

We seem to be experiencing a small disconnect in verbiage.

"Cash down Payment" for a lease is the same as a cap reduction. What you are describing - money for fees, taxes, etc. - is often referred to as "due at signing" or "lease inception costs".

I agree with the gist of what you wrote, however. But, it's easy to confuse the terms, and thus, the meaning.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming. Anybody else thinking of leasing an X5?

I'm going to wait a few weeks till the 2017 X5 order guide comes out. The new NAV with carplay is already known but hoping they increase the battery size like MB just did for 2017. Also hoping for a fast charge option and will wait to see if the lease cash goes back to $5K.

Can you disclose which dealer you went to? We are looking for a hybrid and your deal beats everything out here by a good margin.

.00138 and 57%. Assuming the negotiated price is the cap cost, I get $1070/mo plus tax.

If 2017 numbers are not available, can you give me 2016s?
Are there any incentives for 2016 or 2017?
    Thank you much.
