    Hello,

First, a very big thank you. This forum has been super useful. After searching for weeks the X5 i wanted, i custom ordered X5 in 1st week of June. The car is here at the dealer now and i need to pick up :) However, we are trying to agree on the final lease details.

    Vehicle Price: $69,470.00
    Savings: $5,000.00
    CORPORATE G : $1,000.00
    AutoNation Price: $63,470.00

    Sales Tax (estimate): +$5,563.17
    Weight Fee: + $80.00
    Tag/Registration Fees (estimate): +$484.00
    Flat Add/County Fee: +$20.00
    Electronic Filing: + $29.00
    Smog Abatement Fee: +$20.00
    Documentation Fee: + $80.00
    Tire/Battery/MVWEA: +$7.00
    ----------------------------------------------
    Balance Due (estimate): $69,753.17

The numbers above is for purchase. For a 3 years, 10K miles per yr lease is:

    MF - 0.0157
    Residual - 60%
    Tax rate - 8.775
    Per Month - $868
    Cash Due - $1,594

How do these discounts look from MSRP? How about the lease numbers? The MF seems very high reading though previous thread?

My credit scores are excellent. Is putting a down necessary to have better MF?

Thoughts? Any suggestions on what i should do?

The MF is marked up for extra profit. The base MF is .00137, and the corporate discount usually lowers it to .00117. So, they are marking it up the maximum.
This has nothing to do with your credit or your amount upfront. It's just the dealer marking up your rate for their benefit.

If I take their selling price, and add the $925 acquisition fee for a CAP cost of $64,395, I get a payment of $797/mo.+tax. which is within a dollar of their quote. The money factor markup is adding about $45/mo. to the price.

The discount looks great. Tell them you want the same deal, but with the base MF. (don't know if that will work).

    MSRP: 72470
    Discount: 5970
    Sale price: 66500
    Residual: 41307.90
Current Residual 59% and MF 0.00137
    Monthly payment + tax (8%): 873.61
Due on delivery: 2500 (advance payment 873.60 + up front charges 1626.40)

    Hi guys:

I am looking at a 2016 BMW X5 eDrive AWD 4dr xDrive40e Black Sapphire Metallic with Black Dakota Leather. The vehicle comes equipped with Driver Assistance Plus, Premium Package, Driver Assistance Package and Cold Weather Package. The MSRP is $69,845.00.

The salesperson is quoting me at $836.43 inclusive of taxes per month. 3 year lease with 12K miles per year. The quote does not include the loyalty rebate. I have yet to negotiate a purchase price. Is the monthly payment reasonable?

59% of $72470 does not match the residual listed. Looks like the MSRP is less than the number they gave you.

What are the upfront charges? $2500 is a nice round number, and actual legitimate charges usually don't add up to round numbers. Find out how much of that is CAP cost reduction.

We don't track selling prices, but the calculations are correct, and it doesn't look like there are any markups in the financing. If you are happy with the selling price, then it looks good.

Thoughts? I'm not understanding the way this is set up. I see my corp MF discount and the 7 MSD's. What's the discount before lease credit and corp discount? Isn't it as simple as subtracting the discount off MSRP and then subtracting the $3500 lease credit and corp discount to get to the Net Cap Cost?? Lease form is confusing to me.

    Thanks in advance.

The cap cost is the discounted price. Subtract the cap reduction from that and you get the same payment the dealer does. My guess is that the cap cost includes the rebate.

You have $9000 of working cash. Your $5500 plus the $3500 rebate

Here is where the cash goes:
    $4900 MSDs
    $925 acquisition fee
    $639 other/government fees
    $676.30 1st payment
That leaves $1859.70 for CAP cost reduction, except the CCR and the upfront acquisition fee are taxed, leaving $1623.16 for actual CAP cost reduction.

The $65,287 is the selling price (after your corporate discount)
The net Adjusted cap cost is $63,664 (which I'm surprised isn't listed anywhere.. maybe we aren't seeing the whole screen, or there is another page?)

The MSDs and the corporate plan make for a really good deal.

    Hello,

    I have been offered the following lease deal (36 months/12k per year) on a 2016 X5 40e:

    Msrp 70,120
    Sale price 63,295
    Incentives 4,500
    Net sales price 58795
    MF .00137
    Tax (6% in MD) 3853.49
    Tags 331
    Processing 299
    Acquisition 925
    Residual 59%

Monthly payment with only first month payment due at signing is 797/month.

Please let me know your thoughts on this deal. Can I do better? Also, do the numbers look right? I keep getting 749/month when I run the numbers.

    Thanks for your input.

    .00137 and 59%. $3500 lease credit.

If I add the taxes and fees to the net sales price, I get a payment $779/mo. Higher than your calculation, but lower than the dealer.

Find out what adjusted cap cost the dealer is using to get their payment, and make sure you understand exactly how they got to that number from the net sales price.

I get $607/mo plus tax with those numbers.

Confirm the adjusted capitalized cost with the dealer; if higher than the selling price, find out what they've added.

I didn't omit it .. it wasn't in the numbers that were provided.

But yes, the $925 acquisition fee would add about $26/mo to the pre-tax payment.

Hey guys, looking to lease a 2016 X5 40e with MSRP of $68,400. After applying all the discounts that the dealer is offering, no money down, $5,250 in MSDs, 36 months with 10K mile limit, we are at a monthly payment of $739. Is this a good deal or should I expect better? All the fees, taxes, plate transfer fees, doc fee, etc. is rolled into the payment. No trade in.

    Thanks for your advice.

What is the adjusted cap cost, after all discounts are subtracted and taxes and fees added in?

    .00137 and 60%

What state and tax rate is this?

Go back a page or two .. there are a number of posts about the 40e from other members. Might help to establish a baseline.

Adjusted Cap Cost is $63110 (includes $3,500 in lease credit, $1,000 in loyalty credit and $1,000 in credit from BMW for attending one of their driving events), residual value $40,887. This is for the state of Illinois and tax rate of 7%. The dealer is claiming that MF is higher than .00137, but that may be their way of making extra profit. At the end, I am looking at the monthly payment as my base comparison, since I am not putting any money down.

    Thanks!

Any residual or lease cash changes for August 2017? Specifically 2016 and 2017 X5 40e models?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi! Calling on all pros to find out what the bump in monthly payments will be if I lease an X5 with MSRP $1000 higher than MSRP of the X5 advertised lease on bmwusa.com.Just looking to leave the down payment unchanged. Here's the deal:

    X5 xDrive35i
MSRP excludes destination & handling fee of $995, tax, title, license, and registration. 2016 X5 xDrive35i shown includes xLine.
Offer not valid in Puerto Rico. Lease financing available on new 2016 BMW X5 xDrive35i from participating BMW centers on leases assigned to BMW Financial Services through August 31, 2016. Monthly lease payments of $629.00 for 36 months based on MSRP of $57,995.00. $5,054.00 cash due at signing is based on $3,500.00 down payment, $629.00 first month payment, $925.00 acquisition fee, and $.00 security deposit (not all customers will qualify for security deposit waiver). Tax, title, license, registration and dealer fees are additional fees due at signing. Program available from participating BMW dealers to eligible, qualified customers with excellent credit history who meet BMW Financial Services credit requirements. Payments do not include applicable taxes. All figures presented are examples only. Actual MSRP may vary. Lessee responsible for insurance during the lease term and any excess wear and tear as defined in the lease contract, $0.25/mile over 10,000 miles per year and a disposition fee of $350 at lease end. Purchase option at lease end (excluding tax, title, and other government fees) is $34,797.00.

Is there a rule of thumb of some sort that allows to ascertain how much extra for every $1000? How does it work?

    Many thanks in advance

    On a 36 month lease, every $1000 equates to about $28/mo (1000 / 36).

$1000 more in MSRP, everything else being equal, should only equate to the same percentage of the lease payment, though.

So, if the ad car is a $60K MSRP for $750/mo,, then a $61K MSRP vehicle should be about $762.50/mo.

Only if you are paying $1000 more for that $60K MSRP vehicle than the ad price, should it go up by $28/mo.

Sincerely appreciate your taking a look.
So, if I understood correctly, if I lease a car with $65,000 MSRP then the monthly payment should be
    (($65,000 + $925.00) x $629) / ($57,995 + $925.00) = $703.8 + tax ???

    .00137 MF and 57% residual for 36/15.

If looking for a California dealer, go on the 'Fest and peruse the Ask A Dealer discussions. Keep an eye out for those that seem reasonable and get good feedback from the members.

Currently working this deal and was wondering if it's a decent deal?

    2016 BMW X5 M
    MSRP 102695
Selling Price 94580 which incl. acq/bank fee.
    MF .00137
    Residual 60%
    0 Down
    36/10K

I'm getting $1229.88/month with NYS 8.875% taxes rolled in.

    Edit:
I'm also seeing a $2000 lease bonus cash on Edmunds.com. I should ask if that was already included, correct?
