It's $3500 lease credit just for the 40e. All X5s have an additional $2000, lease or finance.
Correct - BMW is essentially giving you back $3500 (of $4600) of the Federal rebate that only applies to plug-in/electric cars.
"Federal tax credits for Zero-Emissions Vehicles (ZEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) range between $2,500 to $7,500, with factors such as battery capacity determining how much owners are eligible to receive. To meet the tax incentive's standards, a ZEV or PHEV must have a battery with a minimum capacity of 4 kilowatt-hours. Vehicles with a battery capacity of 5 kWh or greater are eligible for an additional $417 of tax credit added for every Kilowatt-hour in excess of 4 kWh. Vehicles such as the Nissan LEAF, with a 24 kWh capacity battery, will be eligible for the maximum $7,500 credit.
To qualify, technology-wise, a vehicle must have a battery pack with a capacity of at least 4 kilowatt hours (kWh) and be capable of being recharged from external sources (not just by braking/deceleration or the engine, as in a hybrid). Provided it meets all the other qualifications, the federal government allows a credit of $2,500, plus $417 for a vehicle that has a battery with at least 5 kWh of capacity, and then an additional $417 for each additional kWh up to $7,500."
There are three parts to getting a good lease deal on the X5:
Money Factor: - Start with the BMWFS base rate of 0.00137 (if you are not offered that initially - walk away) - Buy down the rate with MSD's - See if you are eligible for a Corp discount of 0.0002
Sale price or Cap cost: - Don't let the dealer start throwing in rebate stuff before you come to a final price. Negotiate like you are going to purchase if need be. It's only after you get to a final price should you start adding the rebates. - I found a wide variety of dealer pricing. Some close to invoice, some $3K over and a few under. It depends how bad they want to get rid of the car. With the end of the Quarter coming up the end of this month high be a great opportunity to make a deal. - I found this simple equation to be pretty accurate to determine Invoice (MSRP x 0.92895 = INVOICE)
Rebates and Residuals: (2016 X5 40e) - These change every month. Currently there are two standard rebates from BMW (for August) on the 40e, $3500 and $2000- total of $5500. The $2K was added in August and may disappear in Sept or may be raised. There are trying to clear out the 2016 cars so big incentives right now. - There is also a Corp or loyalty rebate of $1000 if you are eligible. (total rebates = $6500) - BMW also tweaks the residuals from month to month. Currently it's 60% (36/10) for the 2016 but was 57% a few months ago - MY 2017 - current residual is 57% and only $3K rebates. I was going to order a 2017 but right now is not the time. The lease cost for a 2017 less equipped car was over $150 more per month. It may get better by the end of the year.
Use a lease calculator and you should get very close to exact penny of what your lease will cost.
Can someone help me figure out this deal? This is a 2016 X5M demo car with 7600 miles. Disregard the Cust. Cash/Drive off - that has yet to be determined because supposedly, a third party holds the title and BMW will give an amount for taxes when I apply.

Their screen print is showing 1143.50 pretax per month. But if I plug all that into a calculator I'm getting 1,096 per month pretax. $6,332 or so would be my up front, which is taxes, first month, and acq fee etc.

It's hard to tell if any of the numbers in the second column are being added to the CAP cost. If I subtract the mileage charge from the residual, though... I get within a dollar of their number, so I'm assuming that is the difference in calculations (0.25/mi. X existing mileage).

$676/mo with tax included.
However, the residual amount will be reduced $1525 to account for the miles, This will add about $45/mo to the payment (with tax).

A bit confused. Sorry
In the second column, there is a dollar amount listed for mileage reduction ($1786). You have to subtract that from the residual amount. (that will be hard to do with a lease calculator).

Closed the deal on my X5 last night and picked up the car. Very happy with with. X-Line with ACC, Cold weather and light interior.
Thanks for all the help on this forum over the last few months- I got what I think is a great deal. This forum really educated me on MSD's, lease rates, etc.
Loving the car - here's my deal. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer.
I added the $230 Cap cost to lower the MSD total
Question for you, do you know off hand how your taxes/fees were calculated to get to the $1274 number you mention? It looks like your cap cost reduction was $5805, so 9% tax on that is $522.45, which leaves $752.45 remaining. I thought this maybe was the sum of some combo of the $546 and $116 numbers I saw on the pic you posted and the $506 DMV number, but these numbers are a little off. Not sure how these factor in, along w/ the $2394.18 "total sales tax" number.

Pretty sure it's like this...
$6304 Down- - $4200 7 MSD's - $230 Cap reduction - $599 First - $506 DMV - $116 Fees - $543 Tax on Cap reduction - $80 Doc - $7 Gov fees - $22 Tires recycle maybe
Tax on Cap reduction - Initial Cap reduction was $5805 + $230 (which I added) = $6035 x 9% = 543.

So, with just 1st payment out of pocket, you would be around $800/mo?
Doesn't seem that great to me.. Money factor markup adds $40/mo.
I went to a dealer today for X5 40e. He doesn't have any 2016 X5 40e left. So we were looking to order a 2017 X5 40e. But he said the lease credit on 2017s is only $3000 vs. $5500 for a 2016. Is this true?
also, 2000 lease cash mentioned in some posts above on all X5s - is that already included in $5500 (for 2016) or $3000 ( for 2017) credit or is that 2000 on top of 40e specific credit? Same of loyalty credit. what is the loyalty bonus this month. I am a current BMW customer.
He quoted me MF of .00137 and RV 59% (36/12k) for both 2016 and 2017 - which are in line with what I read above at least for 2016s.
My question is shouldn't 2017 have higher residuals.
Car we were looking at has MSRP $66895. Selling price - 63000 Minus - 3500 in lease credit Total Cap cost - 59,500 MF - .00088 (after 7 MSDs) and RV 59% First month, plus inception fees due at signing, plus MSDs.
my calculations show me $692/month (including NJ taxes).. Dealer quoted me $719/month.

The lease credit on the 2016 model is $3500 + $2000 that all 2016 X5s get. The lease credit on the 2017 model is $3000. The 2017 residual is actually 56% for 36/12. (lower than the 2016 model).
To reduce confusion, the 2017 model discussion is here:
When would we expect to hear what the September numbers are? I'm on the verge of leasing a 2016 X5, but don't know if I should rush to do it this weekend, or if September numbers may improve?

New numbers likely on Tuesday, but no guarantee we will have them.
And, no guesses on what may happen to the numbers at that time.
I know the September numbers are due out on September 6th. Anyone have them yet? Specifically, looking for 36/10 on the 35i (along with any incentives/credits). Also, would be great to have the same numbers for the eDrive as I know they were offering heavy lease credits that expired today - curious if they kept the same.
based on Sep ads, RV for 2016 X5 is 59% and for 2017 is 58%. Aug RV was 60% for 2016 and 57% for 2017. 2016 edrive still has $5500 lease credit / rebate (same as aug). 2017 edrive has $4000 ($1000 more than aug)

On a 2016 X5 35d the 36/12 residual is 58% With a MF of .00136. Is the lease cash $5,500 and is there also a $2,000 option credit? Last question: Can you negotiate a dollar amount off of sticker and then take the Lease Credit / Option Cash???

I just can't seem to find any 2016s at any dealer in NY, NJ, PA area. Only 2016 models everybody has left are x50i or very heavily equipped x35i with MSRP close to 70k or above. and forget about color preference in 2016 model.

$2000 option credit. No lease cash
Yes, negotiate a discount + the option credit.
what is the difference between option credit and lease cash? dont they both reduce the cap cost resulting in lower monthly payment.

No real difference, in how it's used. Either reduce the cap cost or use it to cover the up front costs.

The MF is .00136 and the 36/10 residual is 59%.
We do not recommend making a cap reduction on a lease - that money would be lost if the car is car is stolen or totaled. Better to use that money for multiple security deposits to buy down the MF - the advantage is that you get that money back at the end of the lease.
Lookalike a Weatherford deal. MF is way too high - use MSD's to buy down the rate. Look back a bit at my deal. $73K MSRP, $600 per month including tax and limited money down.
I posted this in the 2017 forum too, but the question is more broadly applicable, so I thought I would also ask the question here since there seems to be a somewhat larger audience.
I am working on a deal involving a one pay lease in Texas on a 2017 AWD X5 for 36 months/10,000 miles per year. I am being told that in order to use sales tax credits on the lease (which seems to be a Texas specific benefit and which is what makes the one pay approach an appealing option over MSDs), they can't use the .00136 money factor since it is an "incentive" rate and they have to use regional money factors (which I haven't run across before in my research). I didn't think there was an incentive rate in place on the X5 right now and that the .00136 money factor was the base rate. Am curious whether anyone has ever heard of that distinction. They also seem to be ignoring the .0003 reduction for a one pay lease (no specific statement that it was tied to the use of sales tax credits). Does anyone know whether that's an incentive that is no longer offered?

I want to understand better how corporate fleet discount works.
1) I hear that corporate fleet discount is $1000 cap reduction along with .00020 discount in MF. Are these numbers correct for September 2016 X5? 2) How do I take this $1000 cap reduction. If I have a selling price, do I deduct this 1k from that to get to cap cost assuming all others discount/incentives have been taken into account before agreeing on the selling price. 3) Also, $2000 option allowance for 2016 X5 - is that only for models with certain options/packages or does this apply to all 2016 models. 4) And September numbers are .00136 base MF and 58% RV for 36 month, 12k/yr lease. Correct?

With those numbers, $935/mo.plus tax (assuming the dealer is already including the $2000 in that offer). I rolled in the acquisition fee, but tax/title/license would have to be paid upfront.

Money Factor:
- Start with the BMWFS base rate of 0.00137 (if you are not offered that initially - walk away)
- Buy down the rate with MSD's
- See if you are eligible for a Corp discount of 0.0002
Sale price or Cap cost:
- Don't let the dealer start throwing in rebate stuff before you come to a final price.
Rebates and Residuals: (2016 X5 40e)
- These change every month.
(total rebates = $6500)
- BMW also tweaks the residuals from month to month. Currently it's 60% (36/10) for the 2016 but was 57% a few months ago
- MY 2017 - current residual is 57% and only $3K rebates. I was going to order a 2017 but right now is not the time. The lease cost for a 2017 less equipped car was over $150 more per month. It may get better by the end of the year.
Use a lease calculator and you should get very close to exact penny of what your lease will cost.
I learned a lot of this on this forum - thanks!
Good luck!
Can someone help me figure out this deal? This is a 2016 X5M demo car with 7600 miles.

In the second column, there is a dollar amount listed for mileage reduction ($1786). You have to subtract that from the residual amount. (that will be hard to do with a lease calculator).

Got it figured out. Lol, thank you!
$6304 Down-
- $4200 7 MSD's
- $230 Cap reduction
- $599 First
- $506 DMV
- $116 Fees
- $543 Tax on Cap reduction
- $80 Doc
- $7 Gov fees
- $22 Tires recycle maybe
Tax on Cap reduction - Initial Cap reduction was $5805 + $230 (which I added) = $6035 x 9% = 543.
Hi,
I got this deal done. Going in tomorrow to sign papers. Just wanted one last opinion if the numbers look good?
Thanks!
I wanted to know what is "Rolled Drive Off" - $298.32?
I caught the shadow fee and had them take that off.
Oh and I caught the .00157 RV mark up. Had them bring it back down to .00137.

They were in fact extended through the weekend, I was told by a dealer today.
also, 2000 lease cash mentioned in some posts above on all X5s - is that already included in $5500 (for 2016) or $3000 ( for 2017) credit or is that 2000 on top of 40e specific credit?
Same of loyalty credit. what is the loyalty bonus this month. I am a current BMW customer.
He quoted me MF of .00137 and RV 59% (36/12k) for both 2016 and 2017 - which are in line with what I read above at least for 2016s.
My question is shouldn't 2017 have higher residuals.
Car we were looking at has MSRP $66895.
Selling price - 63000
Minus - 3500 in lease credit
Total Cap cost - 59,500
MF - .00088 (after 7 MSDs) and RV 59%
First month, plus inception fees due at signing, plus MSDs.
my calculations show me $692/month (including NJ taxes).. Dealer quoted me $719/month.
lots of questions
thanks
The lease credit on the 2017 model is $3000.
The 2017 residual is actually 56% for 36/12. (lower than the 2016 model).

Thanks in advance.

Correct?
Thanks for your help.
2) See #1
3) $2000 option allowance on all 2016 X5s

MSRP : 76500. Dealer offering for 70000.
What lease incentive are available for September?
What is the RV / MF for 36 months / 45k
What should be the monthly payment that i should be looking at assuming Zero down?
Thx in advance
$2000 option allowance
With those numbers, $935/mo.plus tax (assuming the dealer is already including the $2000 in that offer).
I rolled in the acquisition fee, but tax/title/license would have to be paid upfront.
